I hate to have to make this video. These are the lies two Christians are spreading about me.

Some related links
Since both Tim Hurd and Doctrinal Watchdog seem to think that I am only now changing my views because of a response to their criticisms, here are a bunch of old clips of me having these views long before their videos every came out.
Here is the MacArthur clip:
• Subscriber Hangout and...
This clip is about being "slain in the Spirit," how self-control is a fruit of the Spirit, and how you still should have control over yourself, according to Scripture, while speaking in tongues:
• 20 Questions with Past...
This second clip is about being "slain or drunk in the Spirit" and "unknown utterances." Specifically, how "there's no biblical foundation" for being slain in the Spirit:
• Answering Questions Fr...

• Spirit-Filled: what it...
Why I don't use people's preferred (and untrue) pronouns.
• Subscriber Hangout and...
Why I would not attend a same-sex wedding:

This clip against living a homosexual lifestyle (in addition to my 4-part series):
• 20 Questions with Past...
The green text at the end of the video also says, "Winger also told Joel Webbon of Right Response Ministries that Christians are [not] obligated to keep the 10 commandments."
Here's that clip in context. It should be clear that I am not saying it's ok for you to murder people. Nor is my view so strange. John Piper holds the same view.
• What Does Mike Winger ...
Since Doctrinal Watchdog has also claimed that I have no problem with female pastors and teachers, I will provide related clips. Though I would nuance my views more than he wants me to, this is definitely a deception.
This clip is stating that women are not to be the teaching elder of the fellowship and that "women are not to take the role of lead pastor or teaching elder, and to have that position as a woman would be what 1 Timothy is saying not to do." And that it's "God's ordained structure for men and women."

Tim just posted an “apology video.” I’ll link it here for anyone to view. But I will also share a few thoughts about it here. 1) Tim did apologize for several things, for that I am grateful! 2) Unfortunately, he did not take true responsibility for most of what he said. At one point he actually apologized for me (not him) not being clear enough in the out of context clips he used, even though the full context of those clips was clear, as I showed in my response video. 3) Tim has so far decided to leave the previous, deceptive videos up on his channel. These videos continue (at least at the point I am writing this) to lie about me and my teachings. Quite a few people are watching them and there is simply no way to make sure those same viewers ever see my response or Tim’s “apology.” So, even with my video being available I have reason to think many will continue to believe those lies. 4) He continued to misrepresent me in his apology. He actually continued to make some of the same false claims he made in the original video and did not play or respond to my video, where I addressed those false claims. 4) He even added some new false claims about me. 5) While his video properly apologized for some of the lies he told he did not own up to the fullness of it and continued to propagate more. It was more of a video about defending his points than owning up to them. 6) I am not interested in spending any more time on this distraction but I will leave my video up since Doctrinal Watchdog and Tim continue to misrepresent me in serious ways on their channels in many different videos and even if those videos were removed I’d still have people believing that stuff and I want a resource to point people to that explains it. 7) I added three or four comments into the “live chat” of his premiere to correct some of his new misleading claims. You can read those if you watch his video, unless he deletes them or deletes the live chat altogether. 8) I still consider Tim a brother (and believe he does the same for me) and see this as a sad situation that seems I fixable for the time being. One day we will all be worshipping God in the glory of His presence and this will be only a tiny blip far in the past. That will be a great day. This is the “apology video.” kzread.info/dash/bejne/qX-u2dmalM-vibA.html

For me the sad part of this is that someone slandered a brother with lack of sufficient evidence. If you are jumping around from clip to clip clearly context is being skipped. If you are going to critique a brother or sister you should ensure you fully understand the matter before hand. Mike we may not always agree theologically; however, I firmly, as a pastor, appreciate the time and effort you put into your teaching videos to ensure you have a full grasp of a subject before you present it. I pray that both of these men will issue a proper apology and repent of slandering by misrepresentation.

Yesss, that part. Our church is doing the Chuck Swindoll study, Getting Through The Tough Stuff and the chapter on confrontation was last week and boyyyy was I wrong about a lot! Lol, mainly the fact that I actually thought I didn't have much of an issue in that area and barely read it.... But once I got to class that night I realized I needed that chapter the most out of all the rest! 😂 😂 God is so faithful and I thank God for the conviction of the Holy Spirit, and for opening my prideful eyes! I learned so much about the different ways Jesus confronted people.... It's a little funny that Peter was the prime example in that chapter! Ole Peter, gotta love Peter, I so relate to him, lol.... Thank you Pastor Mike, I love your thoughtful, and thorough teachings, and don't even get me started on the 20 Q and As. I have adhd, not complaining about it anymore since being diagnosed at the age of 39, and I'm not a victim.... I said all that to say, I get distracted and bored easily, but I can watch them Q and As all day with all the various topics back to back, plus you are so easy to listen to, and really funny.... Also, enjoying the occasional video bombing by Mika the cat! This whole community is awesome, God bless you all! Happy Friday!!

Hey Mike! I'm an old time, Bible thumping, gospel minister, seminary professor, and missionary in Europe for 38 yrs. and I've seen, heard and read tons of theology from all doctrinal perspectives. I listened to many Christian teachers on the radio back in the 1970s and 1980s. I was greatly helped in my early Christian life by teachers like Chuck Swindoll, Chuck Smith, John McArthur, Warren Wiersbe, Radio Bible Class, J.Vernon McGee, Raúl Ries, Greg Laurie and others; and I always learned something helpful for my growth in Christ. I'm kinda new to the whole You Tube world of Christian ministries, but for the past year or so I've seen a dozen or more programs, including yours. I've found not only your teaching to be solidly biblical, but also your Christian character and humble attitude of dealing with the issues, especially when you disagree or need to point out false teaching. I'm sorry that you've been slandered by other Christians and I know that you'll be vindicated in the long run. Keep on keeping on with the Lord Jesus (Heb. 12:1-3) and God bless you, your family and your ministry!

Agreed, the only thing Pastor Winger is guilty of, is not being mean spirited and spitful in his criticism. The other content creators idolatry for the Ministry referenced in the video, along with his strong opinions of Bethel, and his desire to view Theists feverently, hatefully, and adamantly refute the teachings by Bethel is what lead to this. Mike was passive in his criticism because I genuinely believe that he's a Godly man. I struggle with being hateful towards false teachings, and I think we could all learn humility from Pastor Winger; primarily the aforementioned "Biblethumper." I'm not going to lie that term triggers me, lol . I don't 100% agree with any ministry (which bothered me, until I viewed Winger address the topic, in a video), but Pastor Wingers in the 90th percentile bracket. Personally I believe that this just strengthens the communities faith in him as a teacher, rather than refute the valadity of Winget's teachings.

Dear Dr. Benoit --- What you posted reveals that you have had quite an extensive biblical background. With this as your background --- I am curious on what your thoughts are on the Catholic belief of Holy Communion? I'm catholic (born and raised) and the churches position is that the bread and wine "literally" transform into the body and blood of Jesus Christ (transubstantiation). The Gospel of John, chapter 6 is used quite often in reference to this teaching. Have you ever pondered the words of Jesus in John 6 (vs. 53) and if so, couldn't He be speaking literally? Blessings...

In general i really like a lot of Mikes teaching, while it seems around 11 minute 15 seconds in when Mike agrees one of the problems that might be valid is that might consider some people with major problems with sin to still be Christian. Would agree a touchy issue, and in general might be a better position to have, while how to deal with John 4:24) "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” The point is "must worship in spirit and truth..." Would assert if we take the Bible at face value, i would have an issue with someone taking this point, while i'm thinking more of the people teaching and supporting bad doctrine, not Mike here... For example can a practicing homosexual, or alcoholic be saved if there is no repentance or change from how they were "in the world" before being saved... Or the rest of the sins and those practicing as noted in 1 Cor 6:8-10. No problem if one gets into the group in v11, which all were in v11 :)... While this said not sure any of us should ever be saying this person is or isn't saved i.e. Rom 14:4) Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. Wouldn't the essentials be that which the Bible asserts? I Tim 4:16 ) Pay close attention to yourself and to the teaching; persevere in these things, for as you do this you will save both yourself and those who hear you. While if the people are accusing Mike is wrong say where as Mike was asking in the video. While we have Rom 2:1-4, and "The manor you judge, you will also be judged..." Alway took this as if you judge rightly God will judge you rightly, if compassionately then God will judge you with compassion... Like wise if we judge harshly or incorrectly, then God will also judge you harshly or incorrect. so a bit troubling for those attacking Mike here... What a man sows this they will also reap.... Also when things like this come up... Isn't Matthew 18 still in effect? To first take care of a matter in private, not in public, if they don't recieve you then take another, eventually then one may go public about it. To falsely accuse someone, hmm besides being a false witness, isn't this gossip and wrong to boot. Just saying God hates a lying tongue and one that is a gossip....

@@dand4485 we as the church are supposed to judge people who claim to be Christians in the church. God expects us to. It's so that the body of Christ is holy as he is holy (1 Peter 1:16) and sin doesn't take over the church. But when I said that I wasn’t talking about unbelievers who live in sexual sin or are greedy cheats and thieves and idol worshipers. For you can’t live in this world without being with people like that. What I meant was that you are not to keep company with anyone who claims to be a brother Christian but indulges in sexual sins, or is greedy, or is a swindler, or worships idols, or is a drunkard, or abusive. Don’t even eat lunch with such a person. It isn’t our job to judge outsiders. But it certainly is our job to judge and deal strongly with those who are members of the church and who are sinning in these ways. God alone is the Judge of those on the outside. But you yourselves must deal with this man and put him out of your church. - 1 Corinthians 5:10-13 Those who live certain lifestyles will be condemned if they do not repent and leave those lifestyles. Only one thing will be not be forgiven, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which includes the mark of the beast. “Even blasphemy against me or any other sin can be forgiven-all except one: speaking against the Holy Spirit shall never be forgiven, either in this world or in the world to come. - Matthew 12:31 Then a third angel followed them shouting, “Anyone worshiping the Creature from the sea and his statue, and accepting his mark on the forehead or the handmust drink the wine of the anger of God; it is poured out undiluted into God’s cup of wrath. And they will be tormented with fire and burning sulphur in the presence of the holy angels and the Lamb. The smoke of their torture rises forever and ever, and they will have no relief day or night, for they have worshiped the Creature and his statue, and have been tattooed with the code of his name.Let this encourage God’s people to endure patiently every trial and persecution, for they are his saints who remain firm to the end in obedience to his commands and trust in Jesus.” - Revelation 14:9-12 Lastly, you are correct when you say God hates lying. There are actually 7 things God hates. For there are six things the Lord hates-no, seven: haughtiness, lying, murdering, plotting evil, eagerness to do wrong, a false witness, sowing discord among brothers. - Proverbs 6:16. I am replying here because my phone won’t let me do it in the main comments section. That’s all could be said to have a false gospel in the same way that Roman Catholicism has a false gospel: namely, that it adds to the gospel some thing that is either not a primary importance or which is not even biblical or factual. Roman Catholicism is very similar: we are saved by grace through faith… And our good works. Where is Bethel seems to say: we are saved by grace through faith… And you have to believe that total and complete healing is for today 100% of the time except when it displaces God, which Bill Johnson has said has only happened to him twice (see the rediscovering Bethel series, or Chris Roseboro‘s commentary on the subject: rediscovering Bethel‘s heresies). Meanwhile, the biblical gospel a simple: we are saved by grace through faith. Period. End of story. Don’t add anything, don’t take anything away. I’ll be enough, this makes me question in Chris Rosebrough, since he teaches baptismal regeneration as a confessional Lutheran. Any insights would be helpful.😊

Amen Brother. I fear that the new big "reformed movement" these days that is taking off has too many young men who can jump fully in to the doctrine, yet are as Paul Washer says "boys". Men who can string together a theological framework yet do not truly know God. Where as many old men of the past were men who loved the doctrines of grace because they knew God. That makes me nervous. Saying this as a young man who is reformed and used to argue hard and be upset if people disagreed with the reformed doctrine. As I've just been reading the Bible and going through a few testing years I've come to see more of God's kindness and mercy to us. His sovereignty has become more a lovely doctrine to cherish and assure me than a doctrine to ram down everybody's throat and disregard them if they don't agree. If you are anything like me, you’ll say to yourself that you aren’t going to let it bother you. But then there are those middle of the night thoughts that keep you awake and you realize it does bother you. The purpose of my message is simply to say that you and your ministry have meant a great deal to me. I believe I have seen and heard your heart and believe you are a honorable believer in Jesus. I dont mind if ppl want to gossip/chat/vent about about the true stuff. That should be enough to keep em busy for HOURS, so why the need to say things just to be hurtful & try to make me look even worse? Sheesh! It IS so hurtful bc one tries so hard to stay aligned with God's will & fail as it is. So then to get accused for failing in areas one actually doesn't (or atleast hardly ever & only in a low key way) its just SO hurtful. One area I very rarely fail in is lying. Several yrs ago my boss accused me of lying. It STILL hurts. Of ALL faukts& failures, how could he POSSIBLY think THAT of me..that I would intentionally & eggregiously LIE?? It was DEVASTATING. Sure, you can try to show the reasons why it isn't logical that you lied, or attempt to prove something, but if someone STILL believes it, what can ya do? It's hard because you know yourself and what you will do and won't do, and ways you may fail and where you don't usually fail. So when someone accuses you of something you'd never do, it's very difficult. I don't know anyone who can say they've never lied in their life, but I'm certainly not the one who is gonna just lie. I have a story about being slain in the Spirit. I was young, about 11. My dad is a Pastor and had just started a church in our small village. We did a lot of evangelism at the start to raise awareness about the new church. We often invited missionaries to evangelize with us. One night, we had a prayer service in church after being out evangelising all day. It was just a few members of the church there and some missionaries. We were just ending the day in prayer. One of the missionaries was leading a communal prayer and decided to do an altar call. I don't remember what it was about but I assume it was something to do with healing. (I used to have stomach pain a lot as a child). I was the only person who went forward and the missionary prayed over me, without touching me. Towards the end of her prayer, she touched me very slightly on my forehead. I think only two of her fingers made contact, and I just felt myself fall back. I was very aware of what was happening, but my legs just could not hold me up. It was painful at all, even when I fell, it was peaceful and slow, like falling into a cloud. I lay there for less than a minute praying and thanking God. This has never happened to me again, although I have experienced preachers who try to force it by pushing you as they pray. This is often in those large "revival" meetings, just like Mike described in his example. I believed that first experience was really Good, because the lady barely touched me and also because there was hardly anyone around to make a show for. I also recognize the peace that I felt in that moment as the presence of God. God moves in many different ways, and yes, sometimes people overdo it and try to force things, but I completely agree with Mike that God can do these things.

This explains SO MUCH! The other day, I commented on Ruslans video that mike winger is one of my all time favorite KZread teachers. His videos helped me to trust and understand more about the bible when I first became a Christian. Someone replied to my comment telling me that I need to check my heart and that I need to be more careful about who I take teachings from because Mike winger endorsed Bethel. I responded back to him and asked where he got that (and to please share a time stamp) because I hadn't seen anything of the sort in the video. I also mentioned that I follow Mikes teachings and that he has explicitly warned against bethel in the past. I got an answer saying "you better watch again because it's there" or something like that. I was SO CONFUSED. I never got an answer that explained. This makes much more sense now. Lol. @MikeWinger You're one of my favourite online teachers. You have a level of grace and patience that I'm still working towards! The only thing I want to point out is that I sat under a Bethel-style church for 5 years. Believe me, it is a different gospel. It's only when exposed to it every week do you see the subtle departures that steer you way off track after several years. Once the Holy Spirit convicted me and I left, started to watch their sermons and previous teachings and was appalled. Its so subtle and easy listening that it goes unnoticed until they periodically drop bombs that take you off on right angles but people accept due to the groundwork laid. An example of this is when one of the new pastors flown in from Bethel to be on the ministry team dedicated a sermon to essentially plug the disgraceful book "The Physics of Heaven". He encouraged the people to embrace the reintegration of pagan practices as they were initially God's practices that were hijacked by the world and its time to reclaim them...! This is not the Gospel in any form and is what is fed to the flock. As a once full-hearted follower of this, I saw how this almost destroyed my wife's faith. She was once a Catholic (who we can agree do not preach the correct Gospel) and felt completely lost in these Bethel-style services and questioning Christ. It wasn't until we left and was shown the truth by the Holy Spirit that she has fully fallen in love with Jesus Christ. For me, it is a different Gospel
