I hate giving Apple my money... - Apple AirPods Pro 2

AirPods Pros were some of the most popular wireless earbuds available on the market for their ease of use, strong ANC, and decent sound quality, but now Apple has released their next generation that's apparently better in almost every way. Does Linus agree with these claims, or is Apple falling behind the competition?

the transparency mode is just eerily good in the new airpods. I was in the grocery store and the music was blending with the background noise perfectly--to the point where it was like my life had its own soundtrack in a movie.

The reasons for his short-circuiting is the reason I ultimately left the apple ecosystem for android. As soon as you are not 100% apple you are now second class and it's just f***ed. Had to sell an apple watch 2 bc it doesn't work with anything else. I didn't like itunes library and preferred things like bandcamp and google music (rip) and ran them through an mp3 player app. (Apple deleted all non-itunes stuff back in iphone 5 times) I like his raging, it makes me laugh but with a twinge of PTSD.

In Linus's defense, Apple has always put form before function... Whenever people ask me to fix their tech issues on an Apple device, using set device for only 2 minutes gives me sadistic urges to drown set machinery in the creek behind my garden. The menu's are just so illogical, as if they where designed by a 7 year old buffoon! Not that I'm a nontechnical person, some of the code and hardware I helped develop is orbiting around this globe... Yet can't figure out any logic behind Apples GUI, cause there is none!

These are an improvement over the 1st gen buds. kzread.infoUgkxK5mc3yw4xA7Mf2j6k6n1Uqv_KUgrKdeM Pros: The fit is fantastic. This is the biggest plus. They stay in my ears when running and become unnoticeable. They are tight but comfortable. The sound quality is about the same as the 1st gen buds. They pair more easily with my LG G8 ThinQ and immediately reconnect when removed from the case. The sound balance is excellent, good but not overpowering base and clean mid tones and highs.Cons: The noise cancellation is good but perhaps a little less effective than the Bose ANC on the 1st gen buds. Passthrough mode as not as good as the 1st gen buds making it a little more difficult to hear conversations when in passthrough.

They are the best wireless headphones on the market. They’re great for all genres and uses. The sound signature is spacious and analytical, nothing feels overpowering and for a single dynamic driver they do not disappoint. It’s only been two days of use now and I already forget that I’m wearing them and can get a solid 5+ hours before they need to go in their charging case. They are definetly a step up from the first gen. I found the initial pros very mundane and tight sounding to listen to. Good job Apple, you finally converted me over ffs

It's so funny because everything he complained about has a solution which he claims doesn't exist. - Quick access Bluetooth settings: long press on the Bluetooth button in the control center, then it will pop up your devices. There's a button for Bluetooth settings there. It's not a one tap "go to settings" but it IS there. - Music app: you don't have to pull on the grabber up there. Just swipe down anywhere on the screen (usually on album art) and it will dismiss the modal now playing view. - iOS does not need a back button because you can just swipe to go back, it works in every app (or at least, it *should* according to Apple human interface guidelines) and if you just want to exit the app or switch between them you hold the home bar and swipe up. Once you learn this it's just second nature.

Every single app on iOS seems to have their own idea of "going back". It's a complete mess. Some you can swipe back. Others you need to click the top left button. Others you need to slide down something. Others you need to slide up. Others have a back button somewhere else. Others it's a button you have to click like "Ok" or "Cancel" or whatever to close that. This happens between Apple own apps too. And inside the same app. Apple Music is such a great example. You can swipe back on some places, have to click the top left button in other situations and finally the one demonstrated in the video, you have to swipe down. Inside the same damn app you have 3 or 4 different ways to go back depending on where you are, and you have to know which one to use. iOS might very well be the most confusing and inconsistent UI ever in terms of navigation inside the UI.

Not only that but there are settings for phone calls and media playback, and to top it all off you can play various white noises, stream, ocean, and rain sounds which can be controlled by triple clicking the lock button if you enable accessibility shortcuts. To access these settings click on your AirPods in the settings “app”, then scroll down to accessibility, and then click on audio accessibility settings. From there you can set up the background sounds such as the ocean, or click on Headphone Accommodations. With Headphone Accommodations on you can scroll to the bottom and click transparency mode in order to fully customize it. Or click custom audio setup to change settings for phone calls and media playback. I would say these features are needlessly hard to find, but I found them within 5 minutes of opening my AirPods and I do not make millions of dollars off of a tech review KZread channel….

As someone who has just switched from using android to iphone for the first time in 10 years the whole ios is incredibly unfriendly to navigate when some apps use swiping to go back and others rely on a small back button on the top left hand side of the interface. I totally agree with the rage about the back button not being there. I found it so easy to use. The main issue is there is not uniformity across all apps so the gesture swiping left is not reserved for back, some apps support it and others don't. So you have to figure out which swipe or back button to press just to simply go back. I wish apple would sort this out!

With the Sony, I find myself switching modes frequently. Nice that the touch controls can be switched off on the Samsung, too, which is great if you want to wear them under a helmet without them doing things when you take the helmet on or off. I just switched to an Iphone from my Galaxy Fold 2 and I was so shocked about the back button. On some pages or apps, it's available but on most, it's not. So you just have to play around with swiping if it'll work or not. The most annoying thing is for going back to a page you need to reach all the way to the upper left part of the screen which you sometimes don't hit properly and takes you to the top of the page. It doesn't feel simple at all! It's a great phone. Works very well but I'm just going back to the ecosystem and realized how freakin expensive everything is. Now I need this Airpods that costs twice as much as the alternatives. Heck, I even got my earbuds pro free when I bought my Fold! Laptop costs twice as much as a Windows alternative for less specs, Ipad costs like another phone, all these subscriptions... I don't know... I guess Andriod was getting stale for me even with the Fold purchase so I went back to Apple but this sounds like a big expense. I'd rather buy a new bike!

Got the inzone earbuds for my ps5 and since they didn’t work with my oled Bravia to watch tv at night while my wife sleeps I picked up the Sony linkbuds. Hated the linkbuds so I got the linkbuds s, those were way better but still not comfy like the pros. Went to best buy today to get a game for my ps5 and seen they had the 2nd gen on sale for 180 for Memorial Day so I grabbed them really just to use with my tv and 4k atv at night and man such a difference in comfort from the links buds s.

anyone wondering if the AP2s are worth the upgrade, they most definitely are, i’ve been through almost all airpod models, this is by far the best yet, it is not a Airpod Pro slapped with a 2 on it. Transparency mode is fantastic, if you get the perfect fit with the tips you can forget they’re even in. Noise Cancelling is a great upgrade too, I fly quite a lot and in my personal opinion i’d say they’re either alittle ahead of the Sony XM4 or just under, and that’s cause with the XM4 there’s not really great fitting, leaks comes through the pads whereas the Airpod Pro 2s have a great seal and do better at giving you an isolated feel. The swipe actions are more fluid than I though for volume, I worried at first you’d have to really swipe along the whole stem but even a small swipe up or down does great and there’s a little “ding” when it works. The case sound upgrade is a lifesaver, it plays a loud sound to help you find it, very loud for the size of the speakers and there’s also a ding played when connected to a charger. Battery life as always is great, i bought mine two days ago and haven’t needed to charge them yet. I’d say upgrade if you have the money, if not wait for prices to drop alittle if you aren’t wanting to pay brand new, if you find some used ones I definitely recommend buying if they’re at a cheaper price
