So, I was watching this in the tub and my husband came into the bathroom. He listened for a moment, gave me a very funny look and then knelt down next to the tub, saying "What IS this?!" he ended up watching the whole thing and having a big grin on his face afterwards.

It's even more funny when you realize great white sharks give live birth instead of laying eggs.
I definitely understand the scarcity of videos now. Thanks so much for enlightening us on your aquarium struggles I don't think I could watch these if that was placed poorly.
R.I.P. Bob - you will be missed.
Indeed , you are a supreme biologist to identify this mystery species! I, a lesser biologist, was watching this with my team of biologists (my wife), and we realized slightly earlier than you that these were not great white sharks. After a long discourse and consulting many reference materials, we determined that they were, in all likelihood, killer whales. Of course, they also look very similar to fairy shrimps, so the mistake was understandable, but still embarrassing.
@HomemadeEcosystems

Thanks for the correction, after closet inspection I have to agree that they are killer whales. Apperently I'm not the supreme biologist

Brine shrimp! Fairy shrimp! Or as I grew up knowing them? SeaMonkeys 😂 I loved them! I placed their aquarium in front of my window so they'd get natural sunlight and the original colony had so many generations that it was still going healthy years later. They're fun pets! Probably not feasible, but watching a real great white shark hatch would be fun ❤

@@HomemadeEcosystems Did they end up not making it?? I've never had a problem with them, the best way is to put them close to natural light and make sure there's a curtain between their home and the window. I also had a snail in there for algae control.

What a roller coaster ride of emotions! Knowing it were sharks, then not being sure and finally seeing the sharks!
I've been hatching a lot of these lately because my corydoras left some eggs in the tank where they've been quarantined after arrival in January. Baby fish love fairy shrimp. So hatching a lot of Bobs here which don't live for very long....
I'm disappointed that I have to end this day with such a low shark probability. Fun video though. 🖖

This video was surprisingly entertaining! My first time Here and they tried delivery of some of the commentary was just brilliant. Very funny and educational.
WE MISS AND LOVE YOU BOB!!!!!
I think we need a Matrix “bullet time” shot on the wood being added, where you are lowering the wood at normal speed and then slow down dramatically while the camera does a spin around the wood, then resume wood lowering at normal speed. Soon after, Bob will realize he is The One.

Trick from a former aquarium tamer: Make a "U" shape with your tube and fill as much of it as you can with water. Plug the dumping end until it's lower than the sucking end. Release the dumping end into your dumping bucket, keeping the sucking end underwater. Voila! No drinking nasty aquarium water.

Came here to say this, shooting action from multiple angles and cutting together several shots as smoothly as you do takes serious skill and patience. Doing it without multiple cameras is astonishingly time consuming! Well done for taking the extra time needed to frame shots needed to make the video beautiful and visually engaging as well as interesting.
So in awe. I would never attempt to hatch great white shark eggs. Maybe one at a time, but not that many all at once!
OMG, You hatched a Great White Shark! Good Job
I enjoyed this so very much! I laughed a lot and learned a bit... Sorry they weren't sharks...I thought they were too 😮😂
"They are great white sharks" Me: *Aquatic swimming fish*
I am shocked. As a child, I hatched eggs from what were supposed to be sea monkeys. Today (!!) I found out that it was actually great white sharks that were swimming around in our living room. It's a miracle that me and my family survived back then!

With tubing that flexible, you can siphon from a tank wothout sucking. Submerge the entire tube and work out all the bubbles. Cover one end, maybe with your thumb. Pull that end up and over and down below the water level, making sure not to let it suck air on either side. When the discharge end is in position, remove your thumb.
