A man, driven haggard and mad, stumbling upon an abandoned museum with its lone keeper still as pristine looking as the day it was forgotten, and the glimmer of genuine light gives the haggard man new hope for the world while the keeper finally isn’t lonely

    Whats really horrifying about this level is that since its in SMM1, there is no easy way to hide a dev path (because of the level downloader), so you know the person who uploaded this clear checked it legitimately

    ​@@godlyvex5543There's a 3rd party tool online that lets you enter a level code for SMM2 and view it in your browser. It'd be nice if it was available in-game, but not having it makes levels more mysterious so you get some uncleared levels with insane puzzle solutions which is fun.

    I love the discovery of the manual. I remember finding that when I was stuck with no internet with my 3DS and reading the whole thing. Such a cute addition most people probably never saw.

    Yeah I read the shit out of it haha. I got the game over the summer in college and didn't have anything better to do. I remember Mary O. fondly. I always read the physical manuals as a kid and I read instructions for everything I buy lol.

    could've made it a spiny shell instead so you couldn't get it back if you accidentally kicked it; they don't deal extra damage to Bowser in SMM1, so it'd just be worse, I think

    @@walugusgrudenburg3068 sorry, I was mislead by the Mario Wiki; spiny shells deal the same amount of damage as other types of shell (3 points). :( in SMM1, shells dealt 1 point of damage; in SMM2, they dealt 3. I wish spinies had a bonus though, that'd be cool

    It's like that time Minecraft's server Hypixel did this thing in Skyblock and gave people a joke evil character to vote for as mayor, and the devs said not to vote for him and choose one of the other 5 options, and people still voted for the joke evil character. The SMM2 level _said_ not to play, in their defense.

    I actually own a copy of the ideas book. It came with my copy of Mario Maker. I honestly hope someone scanned it and put it online because it's very sweet and has a good bit of nice cute artwork in it. Definitely worth taking a few minutes to skim through.

    I flippin loved the Mario maker 1 idea/artbook when I was younger. The little codes hidden in it were also such a cool idea. I tried every 4 number combination I could find in the book to look for secrets. Kinda sad that Mario maker 2 removed this little creative bonus

    Super Mario Maker 1 had a whole storyline with Mary O. There was an online comic and everything. It's not online anymore but it is preserved on the Wayback Machine and you can play all the levels she and Yamammura made in the story on their official accounts in game. It's my favorite thing in Super Mario Maker 1.

    That Bowser level... only something you could have the patience to do, I swear xD As for the Bowser thing! That second Bowser was small, and there's a distinction between big and small with HP! Small is 20 fireballs/shells, Big is 40! Hope this helps! Similar thing goes with Small vs. Big Boom Boom, Pom Pom, Koopalings, etc.

    I think the intended solution was to bring the spring to do the second part, then go back to the first area and grab( but just hold, not put on) a new shellmet, return through the door to grab the respawned fire flower and put on the shellmet during i-frames, then do part 3 and use the shellmet to push the muncher out of the way.

    Imagine doing this level the hard way instead of damage-boosting with the shelmet while holding a spring, getting the key easily with that, going back through the first door, damage-boosting while holding a shelmet, putting on the shelmet, and then not having to worry about the timee on the last door.

    I'm sure somebody in chat mentioned it already, but the idea book was a preorder bonus, I believe! I actually still have mine, it's a little book full of concept art and inspirational material for the game, and 4-digit codes are hidden on quite a few of the pages. I haven't put in the codes in a while, but from what I remember, it was all just things like more concept art or simple levels or something along those lines? It's pretty nifty!
