Yeah, only because this winter has sucked. Hardly any ice or snow in WNY!
I found your channel in late spring of last year, and in September 2022 I summoned the courage to go bass fishing. I had no idea what to do😅, I just went to the store, got a whopper plopper, and just found a pond. I made my first cast and bam! I had a nineteen inch bass on my line, and somehow I landed it. Because of this channel, and these videos I now have one of the best memories god could give me. Thank you NDYakAngler, thank you so much.

What an Awesome story ! Thanks for sharing. Hopefully you come bsck with a BAM BAM story. Just think of the video fishing games lol they don't even come remotely close to the real thing. The serenity of the area , the birds chirp'n, the smells of nature, the sound and feel of the cast , all calm quiet and then BAM fish on ! You reel'em in , get em to shore , hold em up to admire your catch and then BAM Bigfoot comes charging out the woods and steals your fish ! BAM BAM story. 😂🥰😇

Love your videos, they never disappoint. You don't spend the first 20 mins of your video stopping for gas and getting breakfast or stopping at a bait shop. It right to the fishing action that we came to see. No product ads or annoying over the top commentary. Just fishing

Actual congratulations! Where I live, there aren't any Pike, but Chain Pickerel. I first caught my Pickerel two years ago, and I was over the moon then. Enjoy your awesome catch! It will always be memorable!
The big pike, bass and even a common snapping turtle, it was all great. Thanks for sharing another wonderful day of fishing. Spring awaits!
Can't go wrong starting out the day with a new ND Yak angler video!
Dude, your videos are so relaxing. You're like the Bob Ross of fishing.
That pike was phenomenal. But really, I could sit in that little quiet backwater, and catch those largies all day and be a happy fisher.... Love your vids.
Thank you for this beautiful movie.. It's so calm and cosy with the birds singing in the bacground.. I'm from Poland where we have ugly winter now but thanks to you it will be easier to wait until spring:)
The Bob Ross of fishing, and I'm here for it.

I stumbled upon your channel recently and have to say how much I enjoy it. With a voice that deserves to be in radio, a casting arm like a laser beam, and the very sportsman like way you respect the fish while putting them back carefully and quickly, you are a treat to watch. Keep up the good work!

You remind me of ME! In my younger years of course. I remember getting in trouble for skipping school to go fishing. I had a number of times fishing for days at a time. My friend and I seemed to never lose a chance to go fishing. We fished all over Central and Northern Florida for both saltwater and freshwater species. I never went hungry and neither did my family as I got older. Love your work and good luck fishing.
I've been struggling for a week or so with some cripling anxiety and depression and this video really lifted my spirits. It was almost like I could feel the spring sun on my face. I really appreciate it. Thanks for sharing.

I like to see a kayaker using traditional paddle rather than that silly peddle boat. You know what I mean.
Always beautiful fish, amazing scenery, and the soothing sound of the paddles moving through the water. Favorite YT fishing channel and its not even close
A man told me once to cast with confidence every time and if you lose one go get the next one and focus. You're a good rodsman. It's all about getting on the water..Keep up the good vids.We all appreciate them. Fish on!

That lunker hitting lure in front of your 'yak was exciting to watch.
I love your background music... Bird songs including the Sargent birds. I'm not sure if you northern folk call them that.. Commonly called blackbirds. The ones that have the red shoulder patches on the wings.. Also the other song birds occasionally joining in..🕊️ PS.. I'm never disappointed with your skills at hooking the big ones 😎👍
Thanks as always for superb content, a kind and inviting demeanor, and representing the outdoors with grace, strength, and respect.
10:26 Kayak skiing.. got to remember that move!
I love your radiant meditative videos. The flash and glint of fish flanks deep down and the sudden heart stopping takes . For me, you capture the essence of angling. EBI - you are surrounded by spectacular wildlife sounds and sights - was that a pair of bald eagles I saw? So many birds singing. I would love to know more about them. But thank you - your channel is mesmerising.
Been watching you fish for years now and I got to say these videos of you fishing in summer when it’s really winter are torture. It literally snowed 9 inches up here in maine Thursday !! But keep them up please gets me pumped for spring!!!😂
Pike and smallies fight hard. it's awesome.
Recovering from a large knee surgery it’s only day three, and I’m so glad to see a new video pop up :)
I love when that happens. Reeling it in and last second when the lure is back at the boat, BAM!
15:02 That Snapping Turtle was in a deep slumber until you woke him up!!!!!!!!!!! I remember touching a big 40+ pound Carp that was sunning in the shallows about halfway out of the water and when it woke up it went off like a high speed Torpedo on the waters surface for about 30+ feet, a sight I've never forgot.

Those carp have freaked me out a few times! They lay there still until I almost run into them with my kayak and it’s like a bomb goes off lol
I appreciate that you don’t keep those bass on beds out of the water long. We wanna put the least amount of stress on them as possible , so they make lots of babies. 👍🏼

Fun fact: Pike is the fastest fresh-water fish in the world!
We have tiger muskies here, supposedly pike in Utah lake. But nobody goes there, it is the central drainage for EVERYTHING along the Wasatch front. Straight toxic water no bs. It perpetually has massive blue green algea blooms, huge amounts of heavy metals etc from the cattle ans fertilizer run off. Tiger muskies are as good as it really gets here and they call them the fish of 10000 casts for a reason. I did absolutely DOME one on a jetski at top speed once😅 thought I hit a log or a person it was so solid a thump. Turned around and there was a MASSIVE tiger musky. Dead as a door nail. I pulled it into the footwell, and it still hung 1.5 feet out the back of a large jetski, Absolute monster. Aside from that I've only hooked into 1 musky in 15 years. And we've got a "real good" lake nearby I frequent. I'm jealous 🤣
Matt, that Pike was amazing!

Great way to start my day just waiting for spring fishing.. watching a new ND Yak Angler vid while respooling the braid on my baitcasters and my new Spitfire lure and my Googan Jr's are just staring at me. The fever is real!
Had to start laughing when you lost that pike in the beginning and I heard you say sh.. under your breath. Good to hear that Bob Ross lets it fly every now and then just like the rest of us 😆😆
What the pike miss out on looks like the bass will pick it up :)! Awesome video and great editing! Have a great rest of the weekend and take care dude!

Dude I cant wait to hit the open water again! Thanks for posting awesome stuff as ALWAYS!
No hunting season. Punky ice in our area, the good spots are hard to fish without a machine. I need the snow around for a few more weeks for scouting, but after that let's get to casting. But first it will be jigging for walleye on Saginaw river as it doesn't close this year😁
Here he is! Nice on a long weekend 👌. Just bought a new baitcaster will be going tomorrow for sure.
Can't wait to fish top water again. Love your videos!
Not going to lie Matt, when that big pike slammed the Headbanger Spitfire near the Yak I puckered. Probably since your great videos feel like we're sitting next to you. The bass action was good too. Thanks for taking us along brother.
Man, I love your top-water bite footage. So, exhilarating even just as a viewer. Awesome video! Always look forward to these. Immediate save for later if I cant watch right away. 👍
Yeh. That pike hit was pretty cool.
Love your videos. Keep up the great content. Shout out from KY.
That turtle well at least you got away before you got eaten lol I was thinking the log it was on looked like a giant alligator gar jumping with its mouth open ! Nice fishing dude 👍
I’m watching from the UK! Love the videos. I hope to go on my local river tomorrow and see if I can hook into a pike. I too use the kayak! Very enjoyable way to fish. Tight lines! Keep the content coming
My first fish in a kayak was a big pike on a whopper plopper and it hit right at the front of the kayak. That brought back the feeling of shock and excitement I had. Awesome.
Nice Pike!!! Good seeing fresh new videos!!! Miss watching your videos
Your channel popped up yesterday fir me, love the content so far. Makes me miss fishing when I lived in the UP.
Was not ready for that lol love how you kept the anticipation going.
I have that headbanger spitfire in black and it is one of the most fun lures to use. I mean, all topwater is a blast, but that spitfire has some mean action!
Nice video! I can’t wait to catch them in the spring
Now I’m going to have to get me a fishing kayak…you rekindled that need for catch and release…a good day on the water to occupy one day a week for my retirement activities…thanks😎
Man not gonna lie that bite at the 6:15 mark scared the piss out of me 😂😂😂 I was basically in a trance from the sound of the lure and the birds in the background and then suddenly all hell broke loose 😂
