Fun fact: Barbara *may* be named for Saint Barbara the New Martyr, a nun who spent her final moments singing to comfort and encourage those who were dying around her. At least, that’s my theory. If Jean is named for Jeanne d’Arc, I think it’s easy to conclude that her sister would also be named for a saint!

Diona's name might be derived from Dionysus, a Greek god who was the god of wine, among other things. After all, she _is_ a bartender, and every cocktail she makes is delicious no matter what she puts in it. Aaaand the word "Albedo" is the name for a stage of alchemy, and Albedo is an alchemist.

I think her name is also a reference to Diana, Roman goddess of the hunt (AKA Artemis), since both are bow-wielding hunters

"Chronos." Fun fact, in one interpretation of Greek mythology, Chronos's sibling Chaos had two grandchildren: _Aether_ and his _twin sister_ Hemera. Given their roles in most official media, "Lilith" would've been a _very_ good guess for Lumine.

@yuki97kira there is no confirmed region where the name Kaeya comes from but since Kaeya's last name is Germanic theorists think his name is also Germanic. Except it is spelled Kaija. The name Kaija has many different meanings like purity or little bird. It just depends on the region on what Kaeya means. So if you're really interested you can look it up. There are a lot of theories on it too.

If for some godforsaken reason it's taken from here, rich seems plausible and brings credence to the prince of Khaenriah theory. If you continue to subject your friends to the multinational inspiration Genshin Impact takes naming characters from in another video, you should give them all a guide of all the weapon types so that they can at least make a guess on that. Like how guessing if you chose Lumine or Aether at the beginning was with extra points. Because let's face it, with Mondstadt throwing German at them giving everyone that much whiplash then they're absolutely not ready for Chinese or Japanese or anything North African, Middle Eastern, or South Asian from Sumeru. Also oh God troll the hell out of them by putting some Aranara on the board.

Barbara's names are pretty close since Barbara is basically Christa except for named after Barbatos instead of Christ.

Guessing the character's name is a very difficult task 😅, if you've already done a detailed introduction about each one try to make them discover the weapon, element or nation, I love this type of video 😊

Actually for Klee it's debatable who was closest. Penny said "Clover" Mondstadt is very much based on Europe, especially around the German-Speaking area of Europe. Diona's Bloodline is the "Kätzlein" Bloodline which basically just translated to the "Kitty-Bloodline" when you translate it to english. You also have Fischl who calls herself "Die Prinzessin der Verurteilung" which is german for "Princess of Judgement" Now where i'm going with this is: "Klee" is the german word for Clover. So technically Penny was closest. Penny just used the english word :^)

Genshin naming are like how Anime name their characters. meaning rather literal. klee means clover. sucrose because she like sweet flowers. albedo for the alchemical process "albedo".
