I think the issue here is that the card conditioning scale (as defined by TCGplayer) is not equivalent to the PSA grading scale. I believe the reason for this is because the conditioning scale needs to account for cards at the bottom end that PSA wouldn't even grade and thus does not factor such cards into the grading scale. Since PSA accounts for a smaller subset of cards, the windows for each point are narrowed and shifted upward with respect to card condition. This is why a TCGplayer NM (condition=7+) could easily grade 6 on the PSA scale.

People really need to look at their condition guide before listing. As well as comparing comps on potential graded because I 100% agree nm should grade at minium a 7. I love the old school ex and lv x cards! Something people aren't talking about though is primes and prism cards those are definitely slept on.

Tcg player buyers usually pay more and sales for me are slow but my cards are much better condition than what most post. Near mint cards to me are grading 8 or above imo. Anything below will be LP for me. More than one corner of white I got is LP to me. I can’t believe people buy cards on tcg player without pics unless it’s modern. It’s pretty crazy. Unless they had a way to verify the condition, you will never know exactly.

Psa is weird. They gave me lower grades on my lower end cards but gave me a huge 10 on a card that’s 4K but in a 9 only like 5-700$. You never know with the grading now it will really go but missing out on a few hundred for a few while I recouped that and more on a couple cards kinda makes up for it. But those high end cards are also. It easy to sell

How long does it take for me to get my order I spent over $100 dollars on from your website

This why i stopped buying from tcgplayer for anything i want to grade even modern. Without pictures i'd assume sellers wouldnt put up psa 9/10 quality cards even at nm. If they were potentially a 10 they'd grade themselves or sell on ebay for more

Dope video. Legendary collection is top tier. Vintage is almost pointless for us to grade in my opinion. PSA doesn't like to give good grades on those ever

So you never answered the question in the title of the video. It would have been cool if you would have added up the total cost/price of their raw value, added the cost of grading and compared that to the graded price. Then answered your question.

Psa knows ppl Crack slabs and re sub so there's little incentive to hand out 10s or even 9s

Nobody on tcg player is selling near mint cards that grade 9 plus. You are getting scammed buying off "trusted" sellers. If they could grade the cards and pull higher grades they would do it themselves. Sorry for your huge massive loss.

Gotta use the Japanese versions if you want a perfect grade brother! English cards are shitty quality very rarely will u get a 10 most pack fresh English cards are 8 or less 95% of the time real talk 😅
