Are these Vintage Pokémon Worth Grading?

Ойын-сауық

I had a blast going through the binders of Pokémon cards, and I should be able to use some to get closer to completing my sets now! Let's see if any are worth grading!

For the record, the grades weren’t horrible, just lower than expected. A couple panned out well.

Just so you guys know for the future, the first and second generation starters are always highly sought after, never the 2nd evolution usually the 3rd evolution(Charizard, typhlosion, etc). keep an eye out of print lines on the holos too it’ll automatically make it at best an 9 more than likely an 8

Do you think they are lowering the grades due to the massive influx of cards to grade in general? Or do you think that the grading is on par?

Very cool binder! I just love the older art on Pokemon cards. I still collect the new sets, but they just don’t have the nostalgia factor right now. I’m actually shooting for a complete Base set! I only have a couple of the more common stuff with a few holos. Definitely none of the big ones unfortunately, but it’ll be fun to complete over time. Sorry to hear about the lower than expected grades. Hopefully it still works out for you.

Wow, what a great binder! I'm trying to collect master sets of all of the WoTC sets too and this collection would fill in so many spots for me if I found it myself. Love all the early ex cards as well.

It's so bad I'm not grading anymore. The guessing game is sort of impossible, because once you think you've got the system figured out, they send you a box full of 6's.

I wonder sometimes if they grade stuff lower sometimes to keep the populations lower for the higher grades. Idk though

I listed a sealed 1977 Star Wars vhs this morning for $850 plus ship because it has one listed on auction 0 bids at $299 with 4 days left but 3 sold one for $960 on bids and 2 for best offer original price $899 it sold within 5 minutes and I had multiple people message me to purchase if the sale fell through which he paid instantly and I’ve sold to him before but one guy even told me he would bid $5k-$10k if it was up for auction so I’m torn as to wether or not I should have done it at auction and if so do I start it at 99 cents or what???

Anytime an item is very rare and hard to find and there are no COMPETING products online, you always want to do an auction. I rarely do auctions, but I've done it twice for items that were very rare/not likely to be listed during the bidding period and both times I got more than I expected. Less than 5 = do Auction if the demand is there.

This is his full time job, and he has two employees. He needs to piece out the collection to sell it which takes time, plus grading fees on the cards he sends for grading. He'd be out of business quickly if he did trades without leaving room for profit.
