As someone who grew up in New York, I can see both sides of the argument when it comes to rats. Domestic rats are just the cutest little things. Their wild cousins, however, can be a menace. In my experience, wild rodents will leave you alone as long as you do the same and don’t leave food out. Someday I hope to get myself a couple of cute lil chaos potatoes as well.

I love how it feels like each of your new rats have parts of Cin inside them. Dewy has Cin's looks and Dust Devil has Cin's personality and behaviours. I’m so glad you were able to find more baby rats who really need a home! I was getting worried for Cyclone since I knew Cape was on the older side and eventually Cyclone would be all alone, very bad for the chaos potatoes since they require time to bond with partners in crime. I had a similar situation a few months back, with my two boys -Thor and Loki- where Loki was deteriorating to the point I had to make the call. I then saw 4 babies boys and couldn't leave them all, so I ended up taking them. Thor is a behemoth of a rat, but he has the absolutely sweetest temperament I've seen, he's a big wuss. It took me a few days honestly to get them all acclimated to each other, but now they all live in the same cage, get plenty of time out and away from each other, and Merry (The smallest, and obsessed with grooming me), and Pippin (Who are both hooded, so they look like tiny Thors), and Smeagol and Gollum all live really well together, and often cuddle up to the gentle giant, and Thor has really perked up since. So I'm glad Cape, and Cyclone will have extra company when Dust and Dewy get a bit bigger 😁

We have two teenage kittens that we adopted after our senior girls passed to their eternally happy reward. They are so busy and active it’s like having new children. I had ratties in my classroom for many years and just enjoy how much these kitts behave like them. 😂

I had a similar situation a few months back, with my two boys -Thor and Loki- where Loki was deteriorating to the point I had to make the call. I then saw 4 babies boys and couldn't leave them all, so I ended up taking them. Thor is a behemoth of a rat, but he has the absolutely sweetest temperament I've seen, he's a big wuss. It took me a few days honestly to get them all acclimated to each other, but now they all live in the same cage, get plenty of time out and away from each other, and Merry (The smallest, and obsessed with grooming me), and Pippin (Who are both hooded, so they look like tiny Thors), and Smeagol and Gollum all live really well together, and often cuddle up to the gentle giant, and Thor has really perked up since. So I'm glad Cape, and Cyclone will have extra company when Dust and Dewy get a bit bigger 😁
I absolutely love them!!! My dad also Linda follows your ratty stories, half from watching you and half from me constantly talking about you and my rats. He's also happy that you seem a lot happier now, and I can't wait to see cyclone's mischief buddies

Dewy is just smol, dwarfs are way smoller. Dd is a masked double Rex Dumbo. You pretty much got that spot on! (I used to breed for masked 💜)

I just adopted two baby rats too! Their names are Flower and Sophia and they're already causing chaos and being a terrible example to their new sisters.
We have two teenage kittens that we adopted after our senior girls passed to their eternally happy reward. They are so busy and active it’s like having new children. I had ratties in my classroom for many years and just enjoy how much these kitts behave like them. 😂
