I Got Too Many Chickens

I placed an order for some cornish cross chickens and was surprised to find that it was cheaper to get a 40 count than it was to get a 30 count. The only problem is that my chicken tractor is only really designed for about 25 to 30 birds max. I am not sure what I am going to do about it just yet.

Ha, I have my quail in a homemade plastic tote brooder. I have 25 freedom ranger chicks coming in May.

Not “too many,” just more than we planned on getting.

I ordered lavender orpingtons from Hoover. Ordered on a Tuesday and that Thursday they were at the post office. Crazy difference from last year ordering chickens

I remember that you had lost a batch last year. I was almost to 11 eggs a day from 12 chickens of mixed ages. I lost two chickens in about three weeks. Of course they were the good layers and I don’t know why they died. I’ll probably get a few more but I haven’t decided what age yet. Good luck with yours.

lol chicken math is why I haven’t started getting chickens. Quail math is challenging enough!
