@@barkumo Every 30 minutes, you snapshot your buddy, play with your buddy, give it a couple berries, and pop in for a quick trainer battle (complete with a hasty retreat). Combine all that with some walking around so a couple random distance hearts show up, and within a couple of hours you have a hyped up, excited buddy. Sometimes I can max out on hearts for one buddy and then swap buddies and get a second one excited, too.

As someone who tries to get as many hearts per day as possible (not 30, but at least 22-25) this was def a cool achievement. For those free to play, you don’t need to use a poffin every day. You can get your buddy “excited” by interacting with it every 30 minutes (play, snapshot, feed, battle, etc.) Overall very cool! I don’t use the sleep feature but will definitely start for the hearts lol

I was always confused about the interacting thing. So every half hour I take a pic and then how long until excited? And does it retroactively boost my previous hearts? Don't I have to also walk and do other things to excite it?

Using a poffin (paying or scan tasks) is a waste. Can get 21 best buddies in 50 days with very little effort.

I have tried the 30-minute thing without any luck. What works for me is walking 10 or 12 kilometers. That gets my buddy excited. I discovered it during a community day 😆

I believe there’s a glitch where if you switch from a buddy that has an unclaimed souvenir to another buddy, it gives that buddy a souvenir too. If it still works, that could be a good way to guarantee the 31 heart days!

@ What if you stockpiled 10-20 buddies with gifts / souvenirs and used one or two of those every day for a heart? Just switching to one of those and then back to sableye

Great video! As a side note, you can decrease the randomness of buddy gifts/souvenirs by "saving" gifts from other buddies and have them "give" it to the target one. All you have to do is not open the gift from a buddy that has one and swap to your target buddy.

Hi there, Long-time follower of your channel here. Currently, I'm deep into honing the Best Buddy platinum medal, leveraging a strategy that's a notch above the usual, somewhat akin to the background buddies technique you've talked about. My routine? A strict feed-pet-snapshot-train-PvP cycle, every half hour plus thirty seconds on the dot. I've got it down to a science where I can fire up my buddy, racking up at least 13 hearts in just shy of an hour and a half. If I can do at least one battle with a grunt, leader, gym, raid, or even just hitting up a new POI, finishing a route, or snagging those sleep rewards, and I'm cutting that down to 65 minutes before it's time for a buddy swap. I'm consistently cycling through 9 to 12 buddies this way, while still managing to hit 6 hearts with my other pals and get 4 to 5 new best buddies weekly. By my calculation, you could potentially achieve 300 buddy hearts a day with a hefty dose of grit. That's VIRTUALLY ONE BEST BUDDY DAILY, or practically 20 best buddies in 20 days . Hello Daxi, On December 1, 2023, I started changing Pokémon 20 times (as you said in one of your videos), making 6 hearts with each one, so far I have 56 best buddies now, that means I get a new buddy every 8 days

I've never seen so many bonus hearts before 😅.. and shout outs to the people that can still use AR and scan stops for puffins and powerup

My AR just stopped working

Huge W with a new record! Only way to beat it now would be to actually time it and start late one night, and finish right after the last day starts. Im a pretty casual player, and only got my first best buddy in last October. I dont know why i never realized the catch benefit (and the cool badge). Since then ive got 3 more, but now im running into the problem of not knowing what to do next lol. Currently with a 96% Origin Dialga. Maybe ill do a costumed Dragonite, so it has a bowtie, glasses, AND a fancy shmancy badge. I guess its a good thing im not getting them done at a record pace

Nice to watch your videos over breakfast. Today I learnt how to recognise a pokostop which I haven't visited before. Thank you. I encourage you to do more records. I have 159 showcase wins. What is the biggest you have heard of. What is largest number of unique polo stops ? These are questions you could ask and see what replies you get.

How far did you have to travel to hit the new pokestops

Couldn't you use the method of chaining gifts to reduce the "luck" factor? As long as any one of your best buddies finds a gift, not opening it & switching buddies will chain the gift for any buddy that is eligible even if they didn't find one naturally. I remember this being a thing for one of the player level tasks requiring your buddy to find souvenirs.

Awesome dedication Daxi. To me getting 54 hearts (across 9 different pokemon) each day allows me to get 9 best buddies in 50 days using only regular berries and 30 minutes a day.

My method is not great, but works for me. I only get 6-7 hearts with the 20 pokemon that we can have during the day. I swap them to get them feed, snap, play and the 3 battles, sometimes the gift. Afterwards I leave one pokemon fed to grind for mega energy + km hearts (usually a legendary, so Kyogre or Groudon are the ones that work the best). I don't use poffins.

How many likes for you to do 20 best buddy’s at the same time in 10 days? That’s the grind I want to see. 120km per day. The rest is all pretty feasible. Just tedious.

Good thing Pokémon Go content is your full time job then. 😅 Assuming you can’t get all 6 walking hearts, won’t always be able to find 20 new Pokestops per day without leaving Ottawa, and can’t get the sleep bonus hearts on all 20 I believe you can realistically still do it in 14 days. 19 guaranteed hearts (feed, play, snapshot, battle, route, powered up spin) * 14 days = 270 hearts + 30 additional hearts throughout the 2 weeks between some walking, some new stops, random gifts, and sleep hearts. It’s doable. But sounds like you’re not up for the challenge. 😱 “I best buddied 20 Pokemon in 14 days” seems like a good video idea.

Please go after the most stardust in a single catch, I’ve been chasing that one since 2018. Almost every year Niantic does something to make it larger, last year alone it went up 3 times. Currently the highest was in Jan 2024 but I couldn’t do it that day. Planing for a Stardust record catch is like planning to view a solar eclipse: right time, right place, have a good camera (for expert handler), and hope the clouds are in your favor

The Quickest I’ve best Buddied a Pokémon was 12 days. No Poffin and no Walking Hearts.

Please do a world record for the most showcase wins in a single showcase type; would be hard and take timing but you could slot in a different timezone, fly home, win, and slot in the same showcase but at home and win 6 in one showcase

This is a heck of a lot of effort. Without poffins and without bonus hearts you should be able to get… 7 best buddies in no more than 38 days Or 21 best buddies in no more than 50 days And you shouldn’t even need an hour a day to do this - which I assume is much, much, much less than the time needed to get
