Iam from Pakistan 🇵🇰. Hui community is one the bravest communities of china. They quit the revolt against Germans on the command of Sultan Abdul Hamid. That's how i came to know about them. Im Chinese myself and I do have other relatives of mine who are also Chinese Muslim but the wedding practices are so much different from what Ive seen here. I learned about the Muslim community in Yunnan a short while ago. It surprised me because they are far away from Muslim countries, there are no other big Muslim communities around their region. I really enjoyed listening the lecture given by the gentleman. He speaks mandarin with a local accent, in the beginning it was hard for me to comprehend, but once I got used to the accent, wow, what a gift to give to the newly wed. I had to listen a couple of times to allow the message fully sink in. I am Han Chinese, I am so proud of my Muslim Chinese brothers and sisters for sharing their wisdoms and culture.

I am sure that the rest of East Asian would surprised too. Also Singaporean Chinese would too as most know there are ppl who convert to Muslim But would probably be surprise that there are Chinese who ancestors are Muslims as far back as 600++ AD. There is a mosque in China that dates back to 600++AD. Its within the same era as the last Islamic prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)

@@nurimahrasidz271 I'm an ethnic Chinese from Singapore but I've known that Islam already existed in China even before the flourishing ancient Silk route during the Tang Dynasty. Some scholars even claim that Islam was brought to SE Asia (incl Indonesia) by Muslim Chinese merchants. There are approx more than 20 million Muslims in China from various minority groups (mainly the Uyghurs, Hui (these 2 are the largest), Kazakh, Tajik, Uzbek, Dong, etc) and Han Chinese who converted to Islam in more recent years. The ancestors of the Hui were originally from Arabia during the Silk Route who settled there and married the locals. Bur over millenia of inter-ethnic marriages with other muslim groups and within the Hui themselves, their Arabic dna has diluted and the Hui today do not look much different from Han Chinese. But Han Chinese is also not pure anyway.
