no one will see this but heres my theory, She was scared and lost and she heard giggles, matt was giggling because he was happy to help someone, he was looking for a WHITE cat, She saw him when no one else could and he made her feel safe and said he had been there for 60 years, Matt is a protective angel that died in 1960 ( 60 years ago ) most likely in the mall which might be where he went missing and he protects people that get stuck at the mall or to even befriend people that are scared for any reason, matt isn’t a normal ghost hes an angel, the reason the cat is white is because the stereotypical angel is dressed in white so yea, matt was an angel sent to protect ashley and keep her distracted from the fact she was scared. Yes, angels, ghost and oder can turn them self too look like human and can make it have warm body, they can eat, and have emotions like real human so you can have fun whit them but they will play whit you until somewone find you and you get help then they will be never found if that girl was there for longer the angel will take care of her even for 1 or more year angel and oder they don't need to eat or drink so food will just keep coming

I'd love to be trapped at a mall! To have everything I wanted of course. Just with someone that would keep me company that possibly couldn't be a ghost unless they were to be a very kind hearted person like Matt. But I'd only stay at a mall if it were mainly day all the time. There's no way I'd survive at least 1 hour in the dark....

I think Mat died when his foot got stuck on the escalator or he was chained and got stuck in the place before its demolished and made inti a mall. Cause our school was a hospital before it had an earthquake and got broken so they made it into a school, when we camped there, we heard girls crying and ppl Passing halls even if were alone, this happened on our band practice.
