I got another 10.00 deal at the thrift store. Did I get ripped off this time?

Interesting it supports DVD-RAM as I erroneously thought it was exclusively a Panasonic thing! The only RAM disc I ever had fail was a 9.4GB double-sided BASF EMTEC. The other side was totally fine though, so not a total loss! 💿

@@starquestman1544 shipping to Canada would be much higher and scumbag eBay sellers, every one i have ever dealt with will not ship USPS to Canada. They say it is cost prohibitive. They all ship either fed ex or UPS. Fed ex charges the receiver an additional 37.50 minimum. You know those shitty Memorex DVD Ram discs that I have showed. I was given a three pack, two of them would not even format out of the box I called Memorex to complain about them and they sent replacements for free. One month later I got a bill from FedEx for $63 because they put a declared value of the retail price on the three pack FedEx charged GST and PST plus 37.50 and broker charges for a product that I initially got for free and was replaced under warranty for free. That was my first experience receiving anything by FedEx from the states and that would have been around 2001

A Model X can tow up to 5000lbs (2268kg) so a 25ft trailer is no big deal. As for the range that depends on trailer shape and speed, but even assuming he can only do half the rated range that's still 120-150 miles. He probably plans to charge the car at the camp site since most sites have either TT-30 or NEMA 14-50 connections, both of which will charge a car nicely. Also some Tesla Supercharger sites have a pull-in or pull-through pedestal so cars with trailers or large bike racks can charge without unhooking anything.

@@12voltvids Hey Dave if it ain't broke don't fix it LOL. In other words if it functions without a firmware update leave it as is. On a side note if BIG IF, it became necessary to do such an update typically the manufacturers website would provide such an update package (you burn a disk from the website that contains this firmware update. I called tech support for a Panasonic DVD machine and the tech walked me through what to do step by step. As it turned out it was sa simple as putting the disc in the machine it recognized it updated the firmware and ejected the disc automatically when it finished I think it even powered itself off too it was a VERY LONG time so the details of the process have faded a bit in my memory LOL. Anyway hope this helps if you ever do need to attempt something like that.

Oh boy.. looking inside the drive.. can you fix it.. wow. There was a Rumor that DVD-RAM discs weren't always cleaned after manufacture and retained a film from the factory, washing with a mild soap and luke warm water would remove it and they would work just fine. 4X speed drives don't like 16X speed media.

Yes, the reason being the original owner probably didn't need it anymore and wanted to give it a second chance in life instead of in the landfill. If everyone had your attitude then we'd be even more up to our ears in e-waste and trash in today's disposable society. And before you say "recycle it", recycling is a farce in many regions and still very wasteful. There's a reason reduce and reuse come first in the adage.
