We had a brand new Hammond boat in the late 70's, don't remember which model but it wasn't a bow rider and was around 20' length. It had a Ford Windsor 351 engine with a Holley 650 carburetor, which gave us a top speed of 65mph when it was trimmed just right. It was great for getting skiers out of the water quick and easy. It was a good quality boat, and it seems like the one you have has held up well over time. Best of luck getting it fully operational.

@@Real_Jenius Thank you! I've heard great things about these boats while researching. I would've loved to see the boat brand new. 65mph top speed is real good , I'm curious what my boat will be, once it doesn't leak! 😂

The safety hose from the fuel pump is supposed to feed into the carb fuel bowl, not the air intake. If there isn't a fitting on the carb for it then you must have a non marine carb.

Sometimes a cheap boat is the most expensive boat. When considering ROI and more of fun than profit. The aggravation of doing this half way suck. When committing to something is the worst choice. I bought a boat for a grand and it’s on shape. I’m not concerned of losing the boat. I’m concerned about losing the boat while my family is in it. Best of luck in your new blue hole. It’s like a black hole but gravity is cash. It’s sucks in everything

I have 1973 MerCruiser 3 L 140 horse. It is an inboard. It’s a four-cylinder. She is very good on gas. I do have an open mod where my Belo from my exhaust is not hooked up to my lower unit which still sucks up water. It still does what it’s Gotta do but by having the open mod it sounds a lot better. And it goes quicker than it should with sounds beautiful

Now from where I live and where I’m from the parts for these types of boats they’re not very cheap and they’re hard to come by and when they do come across them people want to sell them for a crazy price for an example, the Bello, the exhaust manifold from the lower unit to the boat back in the day you were able to buy one of those 40 bucks now they want 200 bucks at this point I make my own out of flexible dryer vent

I assure you the boat was free. Long story with the boat, but the very nice older guy I got it from, ended up getting stuck with it due to a friend passing away, and wanted it gone. we any time we came off plain ran the bilge blower constantly. especially idling around docks to just trailering or launching. So make sure the vent tube isn’t dry rotted replace oem parts and Marine grade stuff. Never ever half ass something oh it will work red neck it. Owning a boat it’s part of it maintenance is the key. Lower unit change engine oil change annually meaning spring to spring. There are some owners go neh but buy the most expensive boat they can find. i’ve seen it. half of me wants to take it away from them or give hard stern lesson because two your family members lives depends on going coming back in having fun to. Some it’s more money than Cents they just go you can tell those owners from its expensive i should do what’s required. Then they fuss cuss blame it on the brand or the boat. When all they had to do was winterize it change oils filters wax polish etc lube stuff don’t abuse it either.

@@ChaseBuiltBikes bilge pump for that very scenario old antiques didn’t have them even boats today not all do. what i’d do install one well you just about had a Titanic Nothing to take a hole saw caulk screws install under the engine down into the bilge. two drain plug i’d remove the old one in lue of one you can threat in preferred in brass nothing plastic or rubber our old 1980’s cobalt had one you screwed in by hand tighten with a crescent then after you park remove it. The boot in your video dry rotted hence free boat free problems but if you can do a little tlc put a new key way or retro fit a modern one your going to have to remove the out drive two should have checked the out drive trims most times go their web site if not save the old one to trace Omc yea i thunk or think that’s Mercruiser early era but come fall open pet cocks and remove water line trim down out drive in storage that’s why the exaust got a hole in it being lazy. we used to remove the battery charge it off n on during the winter our boat had quartz clock that ran off the battery would drain if left in.
