It gets said all the time, I know, but it just breaks my heart that instead of these corporations giving to the needy (especially the shoes, coats, blankets, kids toys and food) they just slash and spray paint these items and they go in to a dumpster then in to a landfill. Dumpster divers are actually great for the environment 💛💛💛

They can't give them away due to health and safety if there was a problem there is no purchase receipt or warranty

@@kellylee8883 they could find a way to do it though. Some charity events give tickets out for raffles I’m pretty sure if they TRULY cared enough about repurposing things they could figure it out but they are concerned about the money they’d lose from actual paying customers while they had to pay full price others are getting the same item for free. It’s a weird circle but for clothing items I really think they should donate to shelters that REALLY are needing of it. It’s truly unfortunate.

It’s so painful to see all the stuff they throw away. But honestly food and books is what hurts the most. They really could give those to people and animals that need them

I can’t believe how wasteful these stores are they should be ashamed of themselves thank you so much for all you do God bless you 😀

Please check the expiration dates on pet foods and treats! I worked at those stores and we only threw out foods that were expired or recalled. And also due to them being a return. Things that are a return will usually have a receipt attached, but not always. And lots of times it's because they're broken or missing parts. Oh, and WATCH OUT for animal poop in PetSmart or any pet store dumpster! Not trying to be funny or a know it all. I'm just trying to be helpful since I worked at all of those places. And I also have other comments about the makeup and beauty products too. Just trying to let you and others know, you need to be careful.

I absolutely HATE the these stores destroy Everything!!! 😒 That thing you called a collapsible Ben, is actually a collapsible portable sink.

I used to work at Half Price Books. One dumpster is for recycle the other is trash. They do toss A LOT out. They could always donate more to charities, libraries, and schools. But it’s only on occasion, and with documentation. Definitely not the most ECO friendly company.

Nice Finds, glad you were able to rehab some of them. They Sprayed the sheets but not the pillow Cases, which you could have taken. ~ Do you think you could find somone who can use the Fabric that is between the painted spots to make quilt covers for Blankets, etc????

Good job, I learned to do the out big stuff garbage with my Mum, it was funny, everybody was in the streets, looking for something, once per month. My Dad had a hidden deal with some unknown neighbors, they let their magazines, so my Dad took what he wanted and bringed for sharing, he never saw the people 🤣🤣...

Its funny ive found things in the store broken but ive loved it and offered to buy it for a little less. They say "no we cant sell it broken". So instead of me paying a little for it and taking it home to fix it myself they throw it in the garbage.

Bed, bath and Beyond will never see me again and neither will TJMax

You're always SO lucky with what you find! You go girl! I would LOVE to buy that pet nail grinder(need 1 sooo badly...well my fur baby does hehe) if it worked? 😉

Great finds!! I take the spray painted blankets, pillows, socks, underwear, shoes & food that pantries won't accept to an area where there is a homeless camp and give it to the people living there. They appreciate it more than you know & tell me it makes them feel human again to know that someone cares. 💖

try paint thinner or nail polish remover on the spray painted cloth items! I think you'd be surprised how much you can get out! :)

or you could use fabric dye to make them tie-dye or make the whole thing the color of the spray paint! I know you can't save everything and that you already rescue so much - just sharing some fun upcycling ideas :)

Great finds, what do you do with them?

I always take stuff like that blankets etc if you can’t clean them homeless and animals shelters will take is always better to take them for good measure

with the ugg id still take it and dye it xxxx

It depends on the color, wash it first, but dont dry it, use bleach for whites, but the best way is to carefully use paint thinner...and honestly it may mess it up, BUT, it's already messed up...so it's a game of take your chances🤷‍♀️

The UV nail dryer only cures gel polish and top coat..takes about 60 seconds.

Yes. Sadly it is actually illegal and you have to watch out for cops. Because trash is still considered theirs cause it's in their dumpster and it is also trespassing when it's behind the stores. Usually because it's behind the stores near their door etc.

Please don't patronize these companies. They had rather spray paint, cut, instead of donating and taking a tax write off. These companies would rather fill our land fills instead of letting someone have them. So sad.
