that davey guy was actually alright, i'd imagine his videos are for people who aren't absolute sweats and are just looking to have some fun, and optimizing every second of gameplay isnt really something they care about. and detailing what to do in each scenario was probably necessary because newer players might not understand everything right away.

around 2007 when i got on the internet my parents were dead scared of me finding NSFW content. When minecraft eventually came out i had to fight my parents to buy this game. the game got out 2009 and my parents finally bought it 2011. I had to show time and time again how harmless this game was and so i showed what was back then on youtube. Its funny how devolved youtube became now because the fear my parents had back then, had essentially became true. If i had showed them now what minecraft is and they did their research they would beat me up so badly because kids these days pump out sexualized block people left and right. some of this cancer content is even showing on the first results when typing in minecraft.

@@lolliii5477 Even though it was regarded as the "wild west" of the internet age it seemed pretty tame to me. nowadays sexual degeneracy seems like the new norm and it hit right in the kids market for some reason. Undertale, FNAF, Minecraft and Poppy Playtime are all great examples of this though it took minecraft some time to devolve the community to what it is now

The minecraft content in general isn't that bad. It's more the content specifically aimed for little children that's the problem. Like most of the content you'd find in the auto-generated page is pretty bad, but only because youtube favours clickbaity, retarded content. There's a lot of great high-quality channels out there.

About the guy who kept his wooden tools, I actually do that in case I can't find coal since you can put them in the furnace for fuel. And even if I do find coal, I put them in anyway because it's better than having them clog up a chest or on the ground where you might accidentally pick them back up.
