Hi Luke, amateur Bigfoot investigator from the Pacific Northwest here. Kudos on your observational skills and your healthy skepticism! About the quartz pebbles, the Bigfoots (aka Sasquatches) have been reported to leave pretty objects such as pebbles, feathers, bones, even discarded toys where people pass, as if they intended for the objects to be found. The juveniles play with such things too, as our children do. I suspect that the moss torn off of trees and rocks, and overturned logs, is evidence of bear activity. On the other hand, saplings that are broken, with the tops nowhere near, imply that something with intention did it. A hallmark of Sasquatch tree breaks is twisting. That can only be done by something with hands, that is very strong. If you're ever in the Northwest, drop by the North American Bigfoot Center in Boring, OR, owned and managed by Cliff Barackman, for more insights into Sasquatch evidence and behavior. I think you stated once that Bigfoots have never been seen. Perhaps that was unintentional, anyway it is not true. At the Bigfoot Field Research Organization's site bfro.net, you can find hundreds of sighting reports by more or less reliable witnesses, including some law enforcement officers. All of those have been vetted by amateur investigators like myself. And lastly, the most convincing video of a Bigfoot that I know of was filmed in 1967 in northern California by Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin. You can find a stabilized version (i.e. camera shake removed) at kzread.info/dash/bejne/g2pkz7WGncu6irg.html. Note the "Compliant Gait" with knees always bent and minimal bobbing up and down. If you look closely, you can see muscles moving under the skin; that is not a person in a suit, let alone the kind of suit that was available in 1967! Keep up the good work! Peter S.

Luke, I had my own encounter with a bigfoot back in 1972 in Kansas when I was 10 years old. I was wading barefoot up a creek in the woods near my childhood home when I heard splashing like someone was following behind me in the creek. When I turned around to see who was there, to my shock and surprise, I saw an 8 foot tall, huge ape like creature standing on two legs and covered in black hair, but with a man's face. Frozen with fear, I then watched the bigfoot merely turn to walk up a steep hill and quickly disappear out of sight. It never once tried to harm me. Now at 61 years of age, I think back to that experience and wonder if the sasquatch had followed me to watch over a small boy alone in the woods that day. Truly unforgettable! You may try following any creeks or streams in the area and look for tracks along the banks. All living creatures need to drink water to survive. Needless to say, I am a believer!

These rocks are small enough to be carried by a medium size bird, they also appear tumbled, is there a creek or river within a couple of miles of this area? Moss torn from bottom of trees and fallen timber most likely smaller mammals like badger, bobcat, raccoon or maybe deer and bear. If I were looking for BF, it would be foot path or 7ft+ up trees etc.. Those logs were most likely rolled over by a black bear looking for grubs, YMMV! Until you see and or witness them yourself and unfortunately 25-30 yrs ago I had the pleasure of a sighting 100-200 meters ahead, stood 6.5ft maybe a little taller, 10 secs of visual and to this day I believe, and I'm not seeing things nor crazy. But they are very elusive, they adapt, blend into their surroundings, which makes you second guess yourself. When you have that feeling of being watched, a chill runs down your spine, your hearing heightens, your eyes playing tricks or is it that the brain cannot comprehend what you saw due to all the skepticisms behind it. When you start questioning yourself what real and whats not, is it paradolia or paranoia. The answer will be not what you would expect??????????

Lastly the night we had our encounter dead silence. I mean not one bug bird or anything made a sound. Then afterwards like someone turned the volume up. The other thing was the overwhelming fear that just washed over me. I’m a veteran and a ex boyscout. I camped in those woods my whole childhood and never had anything happen. That night scared us so bad we left the tent and everything in it. Don’t know if it was Bigfoot but it was big and it moved like nothing I’ve ever seen. Don’t really care if anyone believes me. I wrote it for the ones that know what I’m talking about. Something is in some of these woods . I don’t trust our government to be honest. I’m not saying it’s good or bad. I’m just saying to many have experienced something for it to be nothing.

Didn't you hear the rustling as it scampered away? [Not doubting you ...] Could more time have passed from the tent-poke up until the two of you went outside. Geo-archaeologist checking in. Re: the quartz. There are two possibilities that immediately come to mind. First: given the smooth appearance of the crystals they appear to have been tumbled, which tells me they are possibly the work of humans. A person may have placed the crystals in those areas as part of a nature ritual of some sort (likely protection as that is the most common use for white/clear quartz). The second possibility is that the crystals were moved into the subsurface soil by tectonic upward thrust when those mountains were being uplifted. The freeze/thaw cycles and erosion of the soils would have pushed those stones onto the surface soil, when the moss was growing it would have grown under the stones, pushing them up as the moss grew resulting in the stones being on the surface of the moss. Which one of these scenarios is more likely, I can't say without examining the stones. Oh, and the smooth surface of the stones could have resulted from simple water and soil erosion over hundreds of years as the stone traveled to the surface soil.

Hi Luke!! Beth from Boise here enjoying yet another OGR video. I LOVE Bigfoot content stories, searches etc. based on my minimal knowledge I am guessing that the quartz you’re finding may have been brought in by crows in their courting rituals. I don’t see any right now and there is no moss on the quartz so it hasn’t been there too long. Also as you are clearly stating, the disrupted moss you are finding is quite low and consistent with bear activity. Other than foot prints, what is considered Bigfoot sign is usually up high. A tree broken off in one direction thats really nothing, but many, all going the same direction (like a strong wind burst might do) there are also big foot Teepees, but those include trees often upside down. Intentionally placed. Im seeing a lot of bear sign in the area you’re showing. The only thing I don’t suspect as bear activity is the quartz. There is a chanel calked Buckeye Bigfoot, that has great stories on it. Nance Warren is the content creator and she gets stories from listeners. She then narrates them and has a great voice, and puts together terrific stories. You might really enjoy them on a campout. She also does shoutouts to other small creators trying to build their channels. She really is just a nice human, like you and Suzie. 🤗. Regarding strange attributes attributed to the big guy, its pretty wild. I hear stories of shape shifting, dimension shifting, “mind speak” telepathic communication) but not all can do it apparently.🤣🤣. Also, there is some interesting possibly compelling info in the discovery channel series Monster Quest. DNA found, Hair found, footprints, rock throwing which is commonly attributed to BF. When you get into the DNA findings, for me it becomes fascinating. When you consider that the great Silverback Gorillas were only officially identified in the 1950’s, it doesn’t seem quite as impossible anymore. Also now that the government is admitting that UFO’s are real, I find myself wondering if they aren’t also for an unknown reason suppressing the BF evidence. Im not typically a conspiracy theorist, but this does make me scratch my head a bit. If you havent already seen the Monster quest episodes, i highly recommend them. There are some trail cam shots, and some highly educated (not idiot educated) people that say it is increasingly likely that BF does exist, and eventually it will be proven. I honestly wonder what else beyond DNA, photos and footprints 👣 are needed. Time will tell though, and with thousands of reported sightings yearly, and who knows how many more. Im sure if you saw BF you would speak up. I don’t know if I would. It can cost reputation ally, and in certain professions it could be an impediment. Thank you Luke for making all your videos. It gets me a chance to be in the forest vicariously when Im unable to physically. I hope to work past that and do an overnight on the PCT. It would be a really big deal for me. S&H Beth in Boise.

If you took the same route, the quartz rocks might be markers set out by an observer of your trip. See if you find any piles of golfball to baseball size rocks too off of any beaten trail and GPS mark them if you do but don't mess with them. If you come across a good spot to leave something small (thats not food or would draw attention from smell) like a marble on top of a stump in a way it won't easily get moved off try it, don't put a camera near it though. It's a worthy search and I imagine lots of your viewers will enjoy it. At the very least you are objective and open minded and that's all anyone can ask for. Even the renowned primatologist Doctor Jane Goodall believes a bipedal ape like creature is possible. As for evidence there is certainly plenty of castings that have been reviewed, see Jeff Meldrum's work. Micah Hanks is in your region and is the host of the Sasquatch Tracks Podcast maybe yall can hook up for a podcast together or at the very least be a good resource for local information on Sightings. As for your investigation, maybe check out the closest water source to your experience with the "whoop" sound. Follow that water source looking for any game trails coming up off the water, that head towards your previous camp and set up some trail cams. Any large mammal of that size would need lots of water. Also consider exploring the remotest part of that forest. If it's where I think it is, the game lands would probably get a lot of human traffic as would the park and known camping areas. I would also consider areas with proximity to alternative food sources like a farm or landfills but with remote access. I have a Halloween Episode Request...go in search of the Brown Mountain Lights. Keep up the search... Strength and Honor my friend...

The BF do collect quartz and place them strategically in their “places”. It may be an energetic thing, we can only theorize on this. I’ve seen them not only on the forest floor but high up in rocky formations. I think it’s their zen place. I see in yr video a few crossed tree X’s that shows this is their place, and for us to stay out of. This is the first video I’ve seen where they place the rocks on moss on the forest floor. Luke, as you progress along here over the summer, I feel like a thermal camera attachment for your cellphone could go a long way in this exploratory endeavor. As per quartz- I'd like to think it was sasquatch, but it could be anything from squirrels to crows responsible for it. It seems pretty obvious that something is placing it there. But there's so many species that like shiny things, you'd need to see who's doing it to be sure

@@joniselbe7072 some seem to. Some seem to not notice. My opinion- it depends if they're equipped with the IR. You see, the IR Cameras need to send out IR light to paint the environment with so the camera thats sensitive to it can pick it up. Although humans cannot see IR light, it's documented that some species can, snakes, insects, frogs are some. Sasquatch being warm blooded goes against that line if thinking, but we just won't know conclusively until one lets us study their vision. Anyways, I surmise that there's never a one answer fits all for anything, including sasquatch behaviour. Some are probably more finicky than others regarding cameras. I am a Professor in a college of engineering and have degrees in Physics and Computer Science. I’ll use round numbers to explain this. The human visual system is capable of seeing wavelengths from about 400 nanometers (blue color) to about 700 nanometers (red color). Trail/game cameras use a passive infrared detector (PIR) to detect the heat of any passing animal. These detectors do not emit any radiation (passive) and are sensitive to energies (heat) in the 10,000 nanometer range. Since these cameras can take pictures in daylight or night, they commonly use silicon in the CCD array. Silicon can is sensitive to wavelengths from about 400 nanometers to about 1200 nanometers (infrared). The problem is the IR LED used to illuminate the scene at night (when a warm object is detected by the PIR) emits radiation in the 700 to 1000 nanometer range. Most humans cannot see this, but it is very possible that some animals can. I have had game cameras set up in my back yard for years as I live on the edge of town. I have captured images of many animals (deer, fox, coyotes, birds, etc) over the years. One summer I had a rabbit that apparently could see the IR LED flash as the rabbit would come right up to the camera to get its picture taken! It didn’t matter what tree I put the camera on, that rabbit would find it and get its picture taken. I got a lot of pictures of its eye right up against the camera.

I like any adventure and as I’ve said before, despite being a skeptic myself, I’ll never understand people who have any kind of militant disdain for looking into something, that just makes no sense and it’s a boring way to live life. That being said I would just like to mention that I find the history in these locations really compelling. Not to distract from your search but I’m really curious about the tree tags and barbed wire fence. I love the history and ruins of old human activity, whether recent or not. Good job on the videos man!

Hi Luke, Thank you for doing a serious study on the subject of Bigfoot. Don't have an answer about the Quartz rocks, have you thought about maybe doing some tree knocking periodically as you move through the forest? Just a thought. Thanks again for your dedication and open-mindedness regarding the subject.

Keep doing the Bigfoot episodes, I already follow Scott Carpenter, Dave Paulides and Steve Ishdal and their commentary about Bigfoot. Just watch ten to twenty episodes of The Facts by How to Hunt and you'll be a believer. Oh, and there's more out in the wood than just the big hairy guy and his family.

Really love this series only found you because of episode 1. I am addicted to paranormal and weird on scene type Explorer videos. The quartz rocks you're finding look to be pure quarts lumps which In itself is very very unusual as they aren't tumbled or worked so where are They even coming from. If they were rocks with chips of quartz on I wouldn't be so intrigued. Perhaps sunlight glistening on the quartz attracts birds like magpies who pick them up and drop/fall onto moss. Weird!

Hi Luke, Really enjoy this search and even though it’s unlikely to find anything it’s definitely worth trying. When it comes to searching for Bigfoot I’ve watched many documentaries and often claim bazar sightings and paranormal links. Some of the paranormal theories do sound very outlandish but coming from a scientific background I would keep an open mind even though some seem laughable. Science is making new discoveries daily and having one fixed thought on something can restrict you from opening yourself up to what would normal appear impossible.

Finding the quartz rocks on top of the moss was unusually interesting. First thing I do, Luke, is find out if those quartz rocks are native to the area. If they are not, that certainly would be a head scratcher! Those logs that were found rolled over, probably a bear looking for grubs and such. IMHO. A tip for mounting game cameras from another channel. Ditch those big wide straps and replace them with fishing line as the fishing line is pretty much invisible for added stealth. Keep up the good work, Luke! Blessings from Houston,TX
