A short song made in FL Studio 21 using some weird piano.
It was pretty fun working with this instrument!
I feel it taught me a lot, since it kind of forced me to pay attention to where notes end since usually, I don't have to care too much about that haha.
I also took it as a challenge to try and cram EVERY interval in music into this song :0 :0

That's the easiest way to do it in fl. Before I used tempo automation, simply lengthening the notes on by one was painful because the tempo stayed the same and your song would be off tempo on the next phrase because of it

@@minidawnplayz Well, yea, Both these songs use whats called a "Release-Cut Piano". which basically means the echo/tail/release (basically every part of the sound other then the initial "hit" of the note) is cut cleanly off. its like anti-reverb
Oh, it's one of those. No reverb, no pedal. So you're just hearing a piano without any of the extensions that we're used to. It's an easy effect, but what really makes this sound good is your composition, good job man, sounds great.

? The release is reduced to zero (or at least very, very close to zero). It's not just a lack or reverb or pedal, it's the lack of resonance as a whole after you tell the program to stop pressing down a note.

i love this technique, i do it with drums a lot in Kontakt when I want them to sound like a chopped up drum loop, just set the envelope for all the samples to adsr and set the release to 0 :P

This piano sound is often used in Japanese songs. If you search for "リリースカットピアノ", you can see a lot of good videos

The slowing/speeding up of the temp also sounded dope when the chords were held out

@@zionalcantara9824 probably never !!! at the moment, I just make songs whenever I'm in the mood for it and post them the same day or a day after haha because of that, there isn't a whole lot of planning that goes into them and I can't really foresee what I'll be doing next 😭😭😭 maybe one day if I get more consistent in my workflow I'll put out a timeline or something :)

The piano sounds straight out of 2000's-2010's breakcore and music like the genre. Reminds me of sound fonts used by early artists like Cranky and ICE. I really like it! Awesome work

YESSS I think ice uses this sort of piano a lot actually :0 I've heard it in some of their cytus 1 tracks forever ago I think hahs
The release over reverb keeps the polyrhythmic hits and just staccato moments so much tighter than if it was recorded in most rooms irl because the sounds overlap even if you mute with pedals on a piano
Man i love these type of pianos
It feels like a weirdly perfect mix of chiptune and classical piano sounds, I like it!
