Hey Chad, enjoying keeping up with your progress. I have a question - do you think there is some connection with your past addiction and ability to commit to this journey. Is addiction your super power when applied to something like this trip?

Chad, I've been watching you on this journey since you were in Arizona. Then I back tracked to Venice to get caught up. You actually give me something to look forward to. I know everyday you will post and that makes my day. Thanks for all your effort. Keep chugging along my friend! Virginia or bust!

What you said right at the beggining about making the best of situations sounds so simple but it is 100% true and most people struggle with it. As a young man I blamed everyone and everything but myself for all my issues. Took me a long time and a lot of heart ache to realize I was the only person who was in control of my own mindset and it changed my life.

Nice to see you skating that park in this video. When I started I just wanted to drop-in as a birthday challenge; it took me a couple of weeks to get it, but once I had it I couldn’t stop skating. So, I hit up your “10 easy ramp tricks” and set them as my goal. I had, but lost, backside rock-n-roll (will be trying after upcoming knee surgery) but I got and own everything else. Appreciate that “10 Easy Ramp Tricks” video beyond words. Stay safe, keep pushing.

Hey man. I hope your surgery went well. I’m not a Dr. but my best advice to you is DONT LAY AROUND ON THAT KNEE work it out like never before ! Don’t stop or it will atrophy and will make it so much worse. I speak from experience. I’m skating again but my quads atrophied on my left knee because I didn’t do enough exercise that they told me to do. It’s my fault but they didn’t really impress upon me how important the after care and the rehab is. You have to work that MOFO and build muscle or else you might as well have not had the surgery. Looks like this post was 5 months ago so I’m guessing your in recovery maybe. Bro. Work that knee over like it stole something from you ! Every other day man. It should burn and you should sweat from it. Good luck man. Knees suck. Mike.

@@michaeljohn8905 I appreciate this, thank you! I just passed 6 weeks since surgery. Had a piece of my torn medial meniscus removed and the lateral meniscus was shaved a bit to clean it up (some pics in my last skate video on my channel). Was back on the mini after 2 weeks, started running (slow) on the treadmill at 3 weeks, and have started goblet squats but you have me thinking that I should be working it a little more with the suggested exercises. I have to force leg-day at the gym but I really want to get a simple ollie dialed in while I am able. Thank you for this encouragement, I truly am grateful.

I haven't seen your channel up until like maybe a week ago and I just want to say.... It has put the icing on the cake as far as motivation to quit smoking weed. I'm sick of thinking I'm doing what I like while neglecting what I love.... Wasting days that turn into weeks, then months and years... Wasting money that we work hard for and spend so much of our life on... I'm not going to listen to those stupid thoughts anymore that convince me to pick it back up. No it doesn't ruin my life but it takes so much quality from life and convinces me to be content with it while I'm all clouded up... Thanks for focusing this on something with such a great purpose.

This is some of the best LIFE advice that you will ever hear boys n girls. Listen to what he said in the first few months of this video because it is what could either help you to get through life and find some happiness along with it. Not everyone gets the opportunity to do this. I am not talking about skating across the country that’s this dudes trip. I’m talking about finding your passion and making it work for you or better yet to make a living out of it. I am living proof of this. I totally was lost career wise and for the better of my late 30,$ till I turned 40 I couldn’t put it together. I knew I loved skating and aviation but I put mental obstacles in my way and I convinced myself that I could not afford to go to school and become a pilot for the majors or anything else in aviation. Flying for me is exactly like skateboarding for me I want to get airborne in both of them. So, after convincing myself that I couldn’t afford to pay for school, and the army would not take me because operations, I packed it in and decided I was going to have to get a job a regular old job. Some we’re good some sucked but always at the end of the day. I was counting the clock looking at the clock to see when I can get the fuck out of there because all I wanted to do was go skate or read about airplanes. Wasted a lot of time that could’ve been better Spent trying to reach my goals but instead I went to party after party skated a lot and then decided to travel a lot. I can’t say this was a total waste because (traveling part ) This opened my eyes to what real poverty and what real road blocks of life really are ,not just mental blocks, but real blocks of people that are not going to have the opportunity to do what I am doing now.. I finally decided to put myself into a position where I could be a mechanic on airplanes it didn’t happen right away. I had to make a plan and I started to work for a boat company and they trained me to be a boat tech. I seem to have some aptitude for it and I did that for five years to get some basics after that, I did a short three year apprenticeship at the airport that I still work at. A flight school first and after doing that my 3 year apprenticeship and earning my pilots license. ( student PL) I will be taking my road test as you guys call it on the ground lol. And then I will have my full pilots license ! I will also taking my oral and practical tests for my mechanics license. So it can be done. You must have the will and the drive to do it though. Make small plans I know this all sounds like I had it perfectly planned out but let me tell you where were a lot of tough time. There were times where I wanted to pack it in there were times where I thought I was an idiot which sometimes it’s true. 😂 But making small plans such as OK I’m going to do 3 years here 30 months was the standard for an apprentice but you can take the first test after 18 months so little things like that help me break it down and when it really got time I would just stay till I get my paycheck till the end of the week and then I’ll see what it’s like Monday and then some thing is is I will come back tomorrow and some days where Horrible ,somedays were just shit but then the good days would shine through . I would fix an airplane and then the boss would let me go test it out with one of the CFI’s. Those days were like gold to me! I can’t tell you how important it is to love what you do in this life on one time you only get one opportunity if money is your drive in life and that’s all you want then go work for a bank but if somewhere in your heart you want to sing or be in a band or you want airplanes do it don’t let it pass you by… go for it. Don’t let your life pass you by !
