I never understood why the city /county didn't take care of the sidewalks. If that was someone's home they would be serving them for having tall grass. God Bless you! I heard you sneeze while I was writing this!!

I work for a City. Our crew has enough to do with all our parks, airport, and cemetery. There isn’t enough manpower or hours in the day.

@@stacey8096 Im reading this discussion and I know for a fact of what you speak of. The city I live in here in Michigan is in the same boat. However, if there is not enough man power, why waste time and money giving out citations. Do they think its going to change over night? Most the time, its going to take a long while to reverse whats been done. A lot of times it might be single person with mental issues, handicapp(s), or elderly.

If you live around this area it has to be a relief to know that you beautified this area for them. One overgrown lot can throw off a whole street, especially corner lots. Well done!

After seeing the before and after pictures, it was obvious that it was worse than it looked! It looks amazing now. Full width of the sidewalk, not wondering what's going to jump out. Beautiful work.

It is the property owner's responsibility to maintain the area around the sidewalk, including the parking strip along the street. Since the business has fenced it off, it is out of sight and out of mind. So the city feels it is not their responsibility to maintain it as well, no one is taking care of it. So kudos to you for stepping up to the plate and getting it cleaned up for those who need to use the sidewalk and for those who have to live near it.

..and all of a sudden, this side walk has the best edge in the neighborhood 😃🤩👏👏👏👏👏⭐️💛⭐️💛⭐️

I believe it’s the city responsibility to take care of the sidewalks. You should take a picture of the before and after and send it to them. You did a great job, you are making it safe for anyone that uses it from the snakes and bugs

Great job Fill! If the lot is operating now, maybe the owner or president will see how good the property looks when it’s mowed, trimed and edged, compared to the easiest and less costly to just mow the grass a few times during the summer. It looks so much better the way you did it.

Those kids that rode by on their bicycles, when I was their age and we would see someone cutting their lawn with a different type of mower, we would all stop to check it out and not just ride by. people and businesses seem to think rock is the answer to keeping things from growing. Not so as we see here. Infact it is harder to pull weeds and grass from rock. Even if a good layer of fabric or plastic is put under the rock, stuff gets in. Another great job Fill!

The best word to describe the outcome of your hard work to improve. the area and making it safe is AWESOME! It's unbelievable how owners of the property let it get that. BAD! Here in the Adirondack Mountains here many of the,small towns, like mine,the supervisor and board members sit behind a desk, ignoring what is happening to our communities. And we are not permitted to do anything like clean up yards is abandoned properties or any lawn care on sidewalks.
