📜 Video Description 📜
In this second Episode of From Stalling to Mauling I unearthed some major problems in Jess's Game. The QQ poker hand in this video in particular illustrates perfectly what Jess needs to fix to get her poker graph going in the right direction.

    Even when I am 29 minutes through a Carrot Corner video without a mention of our shared enlightenment, trueEV.... I am reassured that Peter has chosen to work with under-represented groups in the poker community on his stream and in his videos. We are not all 22 year old guys with hoodies slaving the sim!

    Honestly I don’t come across many 22 year old guys in hoodies these days. I have a very diverse student base now which is really nice. The 22 year old hoody crowd tends to try to make a go of it on their own rather than get coached.

    Hey Pete, I got a question. When you say that we shouldn't copy a solver, do you mean to shift the indifferent hands towards a pure action or would you go as far as deviating from solver even on instances that the solver says an action is clearly superior than other? How does playing on an anonymous pool would influence that?

  • @CarrotCornerPoker

    @CarrotCornerPoker

    Жыл бұрын

    This depends on how big an adjustment you think is warranted and how big the base differences are between two lines is in the solver. If a solver gives an indifferent verdict in a spot and you have the impression that one line is likely to be better than the other in reality due to a DIFFERENCE between reality and GTO (not some factor that is true in both worlds) then you should deviate. If one line is better than the other in the solver then you must look at how big he EV difference is. When it comes to small EV differences you can dedicate similarly to how you would in indifferent spots. What you might want to avoid is making theoretical blunders (large theoretical mistakes) based on vague exploitative ideas.

    In hand 2 the likely 3rd option : she doesn't want to check and 'feel' her hand is face up and enter a river node with not knowing what to do. - You will see this type of leak across many spots such as in 3b pots on AJ7s and turn is 8s,9s,Ts etc and pot is checked to villain and they bet hands like A5s no flush cards to avoid river nodes. - This same leak is likely also a sub conscious reason she leads river in hand 1as she's not sure exactly what to do vs a really really big bet and mostly wants to continue with the hand so bets instead In hand 1 : - Her game looks like how you play vs a passive rec and go for value with basically every part of her range (if she's betting 2pair she's betting flush,str8 etc) and she's going big to try and get called rather than raised. - The other issue with betting all of these types of hands is you loose value vs bluffs and your remaining check range is so weak you bleed even more red line. Also not a hater (or troll)

  • @CarrotCornerPoker

    @CarrotCornerPoker

    Жыл бұрын

    Yeah I agree there is a preference for having the betting lead and that once Jess switches to a more to a ruthless stone cold EV comparison between two lines, the objective benefits of not making polarisation errors will become apparent and trump the older feelings of not wanting to aggress for aggression’s sake. PS. You didn’t come off as a troll don’t worry!
