Id be more excited over the little swiss watch over that seiko.

I spend half my life at thrift stores and fleamarkets, lotsa watches worth finding, recently picked up Omegas! Timex and Seiko's. Im selling some on ebay right now. Tidy them up and use it to......buy more watches😂

Hi ,..The Majestic Swiss watch would be one of the many watch brands that produces everything for their watches except the watch movement . Manufactures like ETA , A. Schilds and others produced movements available to these many watch brands both large and small . For example I have a Breitling Chronomat that uses a movement made by Valjoux which is now owned by ETA . On many Swiss watches the hallmark of the manufacturer and the caliber of the movement is under or in the vicinity of the balance wheel .

👍 Glad you shared...I got my Tissot chrono for $25, Pulsar (Seiko) flightmaster for $30, Casio Gravity Master for $50 and Swiss Wenger for $40. All working perfect and were "like new" just by passing through flea markets and pawn shops. You got a pretty good deal too. Best thing is you get to "put it on your wrist and observe before you buy," unlike the risky eBay shopping. Of course, I couldn't afford these new and would not consider them at a watch store. 😀

The number 76 on the back of the Timex is a date code. April 1991. You can Google the date code chart.

That Seiko find will make you money regardless of whether it works or not. Curious to see what happens when you install the battery. I just hope one wasn’t left inside and the battery leaked. Had this happen to a vintage watch I purchased on eBay.

I think, emphasize think, the automatic is an ETA. I have an old Mathey-Tissot movement and the looks and jewel count are about identical.

Nice looking watches! Check on the mainplate for the movement info on the automatic watch. Near the balance. Looks mint either way! Nice finds!

The Timex may have a number at the bottom of the dial. The last 2 digits are the year of manufacture

Really cool. I too have found a couple of cool watches at op shops ( as we Aussies call them) One is a 1960's Unicorn made by Rolex (working) for $60 AUD and the other a 1980's Longines quartz (again working) for $25 AUD. The bargains are certainly out there, one just needs to be lucky enough to find them👍

Persistance, it took a year or so for my market guy to start hunting down stuff I actually wanted and there a regular round of shops I visit every week....
