Bruh, it is an economy car. You gonna complain that a new F250 sucks on the slalom course or that a new Corvette can't haul any hay bales? 😂

I owned a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage with over 300,000 miles, and it’s very popular here in Southeast Asia. It’s not fast or particularly attractive, but it's reliable and sufficient for those needing a dependable vehicle to get from point A to point B without issues. The gas mileage is excellent. While it might not appeal to car enthusiasts, it's ideal for ordinary people who want a straightforward, functional car. I don't understand why it gets so much criticism in the US or other Western countries.

12 seconds in Europe is average for a small car

That car is made for small streets on a bigger sized complex cities. No highway driving. That kind of cars are quite common on here in Europe.

I finally understand why you feel that way; you really want a corvette but could only afford a Mirage? So thats why you hate its rather slow acceleration? Tell you what, I bought a new 23 Mirage hatchback and love it, since my needs are transportation only, its acceleration, while not world beating is good enough when you use the drive sport mode and hold your revs to 4,000 rpm, thats its torque peak, so keeping it at 4,000 you will see better acceleration, and I use it on freeways everyday, it merges just fine used this way and once you hit 65 mph just use the cruise control and watch the gas mileage climb! These cars typically go over 200K (miles) and come with 10 yrs/100,000 mile warranty, so they know the car will make it, and they do! My fill ups come in at $20, and oil changes only need 3 quarts. Its easy to work on these things and once you live within its design limits there is really no other car like it. Im guessing you were just renting it here, but in actually owning them you come to discover just how practical and dependable they really are. But then again, you still really want that Corvette, dont you!

Better than walking or riding a scooter. Quite popular in Europe and Asia, where some cars have less than 60 HP. Not really for US market.

I honestly think I want one. Something about simple A to B car that looks like a shit box, but it’s still intrigues me. 😂

0-60mph is in 11 seconds, yes it's bad compare to modern standards but someone who drove all his life older compact cars won't notice the difference. A base Civic or Corolla from 2000 does the same in 10 seconds. In Europe or Asia there are many slower cars on the road.

I got a 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage ES, put 21,000 miles on it in 8 months. Great car! The more I drive it, the more I like it. I am on vacation not in the Mirage, and I miss it. Wish I could have taken it on the trip.

Hey, at least you got amenities like an arm rest, four power windows (could be cranky-windy in the back), some chrome bits and multifuncion steering wheel!

In southeast asia, there is a car called a Toyota aygo /perodua axia and trust me the mitsubishi mirage is waaaaaaaay better than that car. So its practically a midrange car over here and a camry is luxury sedan

It’s for someone who wants new and not wanting to spend more or a used car then pay shitload for repairs. Bro, it’s a purpose for certain people.

Id love to have one as a work car. Theyre perfect imo, not overly complicated, great on gas, somewhat stylish imo. I love mitsubishis. The galants, eclipses, 3000gt, i even like the outlanders before they became rebadged rogues. But even then there vehicles are all very competitively priced for what you get. I know i can get a good 150k miles out a Mitsubishi if not more.

Back in the early 90s when the Chevy Sprint/Pontiac Firefly/Geo Metro all had the 1.3L dinky engines, I said, this is BS!! Nothing should come in this small of a displacement. They won't last.

It's just basic motoring A-to-B vehicle. I drive alternately '13 Toyota Yaris Hybrid, '18 Honda Jazz 1.3 CVT and '21 Space Star 5-speed manual. Of course Mitsubishi is the worst in comfort but... the most fun & pleasent to drive! :O Reminds me the little dog, very joyful because of walk with me. And it scores 56-58 mpg every run, when complex Yaris Hybrid doing 64-66 mpg same path. Yaris & Jazz doesn't make me smile.
