I FINALLY Understand What Makes PAINTING GOOD : Abstract Leopard Acrylic Painting
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I finally understand what makes a good painting! And it's not what you think. The best paintings arent those that are the most technically great, they aren't the most detailed or the most photo like. I've learned a lot in 15 years of painting but this might just be the most important thing I have learned!

So much Knowledge went in to me after watching this video
Tomorrow I'm joining patreon. Can't wait!
I love this abstract and free painting stye, I've tried it before, I had lots of fun indeed, i'm not quite sure why but afterwards i still am stuck with something with more details, although not your kind of realism, it's still an enjoyment to paint with that style. Anyways, I'll be sure to go back and try this again sometime~
Congratulations you will do well. that is for shure. your one of the best out there.
Great video. Sometimes you do need to let go and surrender and just enjoy yourself without worrying.
You honestly give the most inspiring ideas and talks! You are an amazing artist but also so smart as well ❤️ I adore your ways xxx
This turned out beautiful! I'm going to have to try this on my next piece
Looks GREAT!
You are incredible artist. You undoubtedly will be successful.
I think that sometimes, we as artists, forget that the person looking at our painting has not seen the reference we painted from, and would therefore have no idea how tightly or exactly we painted the object we painted. I have painted like this for years, and my paintings sell regularly. I am definitely not a detail person. I get bored and frustrated with it. But sometimes I like to challenge myself with following a reference with a lot of detail. Just to do something different, to keep it interesting and challenging. In the end, people buy what they like, detailed or not. Just depends. Pretty subjective, art is :)
WOW, l can see why you are so successful. What an amazing talent. Your career in art will certainly be incredible. 🎨🎨🎨
Breathtakingly beautiful piece. #TY

Thank you so much 😀
Perhaps as a new artist you should actually start drawing with leopard spots and then draw fur around them. Do that in multiple artworks, in order to analyze and understand where the spots generally are and which shape do they usually have. And from that moment, start drawing free-style spots. Same with tiger/zepra/jaguar/cheetah/etc Otherwise spots might look really strange :)
Fantastic ❤

Thanks! Good luck with your tiger 😁 I’m definitely going to be doing more in this style
That is soo good....its what am trying to do....was recently shown a picture of a black panther....it could have been mistaken for a photo....l want to be an artist...not a photographer .....luv your videos...very inspirational..
Congratulations on committing full time to your craft!
Muito lindo!! Adoro felinos ❤
Very nice painting, i also prefer a looser process, however it isnt abstract. Though its not very detailed, its still fairly realistic. Something doesnt have to be hyper-realism to be realism. Which one of the reasons i love representational art. Theres so many different ways to do it
❤❤❤

Simply phenomenal! What brand of paint is this?
That is enough for today's philosophy class
Love your videos and the ideas you present. One thing I struggle with when trying to follow along is getting my paints to lay as flat and opaque as yours. When using acrylics are you using a wet pallet? How much do you thin your paints? Mine always seem to leave texture and not smooth brush strokes.

It’s the camera, they aren’t flat and opaque in real life it takes multiple layers to get them looking solid with acrylics. Some of the more expensive heavy body acrylics are a bit more opaque but you still need to work in layers. I just use a glass palette and cover it with cling film/ cellophane after each painting session. This painting I didn’t use any medium just acrylics and water. But sometimes I will also use an acrylic retarder to extend the life of the acrylics on my palette. I did a video showing this a few weeks ago. :)

@@StudioWildlife thank you for the reply! I think I ended up watching that video earlier today!
What brand of acrylic do you use??
I wish I can quit my job and do art full time
Hi Daniel I really enjoy your videos all of them actually. I've been drawing most of my life but 70 I am relatively new to painting. I am struggling with acrylic painting. I see how you work at building up the layers of paint but it never seems to work for me. It always ends up looking like mud. I'm working on some wildlife pieces right now for my first real art show. 2nd where do you get that large size paper. Anyway if you have any advice on either subject, I would appreciate it. Thanks your work is inspiring. ' . '

Hi, Thanks for your comment, I'm not too sure about why it's going muddy, it may have something to do with the paints you are using or it could be the paint isn't completely dry so the colours are mixing together too much. As for the large rolls of paper I get it here www.jacksonsart.com/fabriano-artistico-roll-4-5x33ft-1-4x10m-140lb-300gsm-hot-pressed?___store=jacksonsart_en&acc=a29d1598024f9e87beab4b98411d48ce

@@StudioWildlife I think you answered my muddy question in the Kingfisher video I just watched with the POP. Thanks again your info is so very helpful.
Did you use oils or acrylics with this piece? And honestly, I think you will find this sells more readily (prints as well) than the hyper realistic ones. Less time needed! You'll be pumping them out like a machine lol. Well done Daniel.

Thank you! this one was done in acrylics and the lion piece I did in a similar style a few videos ago was done in oils. I’m not sure which I prefer yet for this style so I’ll just need to keep on experimenting with both!

@@StudioWildlife Yes, the biggest lesson I learned was that you can always tighten up a painting, but once it is tight, you can NEVER loosen it up again. So stay loose as long as you can my friend! People seem to love and appreciate realism, but you will see a new and larger buying audience with abstract realism. Would love to make a suggestion that I do on occasion. Paint most of your painting in acrylic and then save the details and 'tightening up' and finish it off with oils. I think, as a realism artist, you would appreciate this style perhaps the most! Enjoy the new journey!

@@marje6088 For a proper cure, the answer would be yes. However, that said, once it is dry to the touch, you can varnish with Gamvar.
I like painting with knife because the effect is great. Today I made beautiful mountines with it, following Bob Ross old video. I just don't like that this technique uses soooo much paint... and then the finished painting costs more because I would have to buy more paint for other ones.
Great video. I really like your channel and tutorials! It is hard to not use the shiny brush that does nice fur strokes right away.
Do you glase over every layer? Great video touched a lot of challenges i go through.
@StudioWildlife

I do a bit of glazing over every layer, it’s one of the techniques I use to blend with the acrylic paints. It helps create the softer transitions between the colours, shadows and highlights
