I FINALLY RIDE MY HOMEBRED HORSE
Welcome back all, have you come to watch me fall off Winnie?
You might be disappointed on that front, but it is still very exciting because I have my first ever ride on her. For anyone who doesn't know, Winnie is Jam's foal who we bred back in 2018. She is now broken, and ready to start training for her eventing life... but I have to build the confidence to get on her first.
Huge thank you to Becs for doing such an amazing job of breaking her.

Riding a new horse is so so hard. It's always a huge learning curve to just learn their personality undersaddle and learn what their limits are. You did AMAZING, please don't feel like you did a bad job or that you have to justify why you rode how you did. It's always better to play it safe than be sorry in the hospital
The grey gene is so cool, I had no idea she was grey until you showed her tail, she looked all bay until looking closer. She'll be transformed in a few years! She's gorgeous though, I definitely see Jam in her. Great riding too😁
It's so refreshing seeing how honest you are about being nervous. This reminds me so much of myself! What an awseome first ride for you and Whinnie!
Awe she looks lovely Meg! Still lots to learn but so far so good! Xxx
I have never clicked something this fast im so exited for uou and whinnys future❤️😍🥰

Fantastic job. You are seeing a benefit of homebreds: you see how they develop and behave like their parents. This helps you as a breeder, owner, and trainer as well as allowing you to provide insight to purchasers of the ponies you produce if you sell them.
I had forgotten how wobbly youngster are ! We are just backing mine at the moment. I’m getting on after she has been turned away! 😬 all of this to come
Yay I’ve been waiting for this vlog. Whinnie did amazing, I’m so excited to see where her and the other youngsters are in even just a years time.

I would do anything for a racing saddle
Her face reminds me of Jammy so much! Would love to see ALL the Whinny content. I'm excited to follow her journey. Thanks for sharing :)
Aww Whinnie looks lovely, Becky has done an incredible job with her! I’m so excited for her future! I loved watching you ride her for the first time, you can tell Whinnie loves her hacking❤️❤️
Wow she really looks so much like Jam! Super gorgeous i reckon you'll have a fantastic horse on your hands in a few years!
She has a lovely free movement so don't shorten her up too much as a youngster, be confident kind and firm if needs be, I think you have bred a cracking youngster, can't wait to see progress xx
Ooh, you could get super lucky & Winnie might be a rare supressed grey (also referred to as grey inhibitor)! The most well known are a line of PRE horses (Comico IV, Comico VI being the most famous & easily googled- there are others but you have to dig to find them- both stallions had barely greyed out & had some amazing dapples forming in their mid to late teens despite being mostly bay coloured still), but there are also at least one or 2 lines of Connemaras that have delayed/suppressed grey as well (Canal Laurinston was one apparently & I've seen pictures of a 30yr old connie who was maybe only a third to halfway through the greying process at his ripe old age). It will be amazing to watch her mature if she does have grey inhibitor... Will also be interesting to see if she develops dapples or if she just slowly roans out- although she'll probably end up with a big following based on how many people love the look of dapple greys if she does go dappled, since she could potentially go & stay paused in the dapple grey stage for a good 20+ years if she does have delayed greying lol.
Goodness me she wasn't lying when she said Winnie was "Barrely"😂
I’ve been thinking about her recently! So exciting! Would love to see a meet my horses video as I can’t remember who all you do and don’t have. Just introducing your ponies where they are in training and long and short term plans with them. So glad Winnie is home!!!
Oh Winnie Woo, such a gorgeous girl. Becky did wonders with her. As you said, It’s ok to be more scared with age and wisdom;) I used to be super brave and I had a nasty fall that left me with a semi paralysed foot and I don’t ride horses I don’t know anymore. (Will be a problem since I have 2 unbroken youngsters 😅) you rode her well
So exciting to see how she develops as a ridden horse. You have so much time for them and shows in every vlog.
Ombg Meg I’m so So So Happy that you’ve finally got on whinnie. Thank you for sharing your amazing journey wishing you the best of luck of the future and I can’t wait to see your eventing again with them. Good luck for badder entry. Love you Meg ✨❤️
Congrats!!! I can’t wait to watch xx
Congrats meg!!! You inspire me a lot
I’m excited for you Megan. I crossed my warm blood mare to a welsh cob and remember that same feeling. The mixed emotions of the first ride at the breakers…it was what I hoped and more! I can’t wait to watch your progress together
Aww Winnie !! She looks so grown up 🥺😭 I started following u when she was a yearling and she’s looking incredible now 🥲😭🥺
Whinnie has always been one of my favorite of your ponies! I have a feeling she’ll be very special and it’s so exciting to see the first step in this new chapter of your journey with her🥰🥰
She's absolutely lovely, congratulations! She and you will go far.
Ohhhh Winnie 🥺😭 can’t believe how grown up you look !! I started following u when she was a yearling !! 🥲
I still don't think she's grey! lol Maybe there is a roan gene hiding under the grey in Jam? Whatever it is, it's unique. I don't think I've ever seen a grey change like she has before. Oddly enough, I just started noticing my 2yo Irish Draught colt has the same white ticking on his flank. He's a chestnut but his mom was a grey. He's definitely NOT a grey.. but I just don't know where the ticking is coming from. Must be something in the water in Ireland! (He is US bred but parents were imported.) Maybe it's Gulastra Plume? REGARDLESS -- How fun! I'm so excited for Winn to be home and backed! It's going to be a blast to watch her mature as a riding horse!
Oh my gosh!! That must have been so exciting 😍 You did amazing on your first ride on Whinnie, Becky has helped a lot! ❤️
Wow Meg, Winnie has a beautiful trot (going over the poles the first time, she was so careful). She has such natural potential, congratulations 👏. Becks is amazing. What a journey ahead of you & Winnie🤗
Love Bek! She is amazing at what she does! Winnie is so lovely 🥰🥰
So in love with Winnie already. She is stunning and you could so tell she was happier and more forward out and about with you. She will certainly be another gem in the making Meg, with all your love, patience, hard work and determination. Look forward to seeing both your journey's together ❤️
Thanks for sharing your amazing journey with all your equines Meg 😁 I think Winnie is going to be a star, just like her mum! 🤗
Omg Winnie is so adorable with you on her she has so much potential in her future
Aweee Winnie is lovely excited for you Meg I wish you all the best with her.tfs😎🏇😎
Wow she is really becoming an interesting color. 🥰 Great job Meg, I love how you always work with your ponies and let them go at their pace and abilities.
You and your Mum remind me so much of me and my mom!!!!! Love it! Winnie looks great!
I LOVE when red bays start greying out, it’s soooo pretty!
How exciting! Love how she moves. ❤️❤️❤️
What fun to watch...she is a little character. Can't wait for the next installment of "Meg and Winnie".
And a massive thank you to your wonderful mum 😁
So glad Whinnie is home, another great job by Becks . Cannot wait to see how she progresses over the coming months and years. Yes she is going to be grey 😍
She is really a beautiful mare. Beautiful head and neck. Nice hip. Excited to see her after a couple years of work.
Whinnie looks amazing Meg, Becks had done an incredible job with her. I never doubted she was going to go grey, the signs were there. I remember seeing a little grey in tail last year.
Todays vlog put a much needed big smile on my face today ☺️ can’t wait to do this in 4 years time with mine and I’m hoping you’ll still be vlogging so we can see Etties journey too 😅
She's so beautiful sweet filly face ❤️😍 she's definitely a beautiful roan right now ! It will be interesting to see her colour progress She's still has a lot to grow to , or fill out..I love her stride !
Nice paces Winnie. Will be interesting to see her progress Meg.
She is stunning meg can't wait to see her progress
Very excited to see this! Post on instagram have been getting me very excited!

She was so nice on the hack
If Whinnie doesn't work out for eventing you can send her to me in California 😉 Love her! Can't wait to see more of her!
I have been wanting to see this video for two years 😍🤩
How beautiful is she, and u too of course Meg 💖 lol. I really am looking forward to seeing how she goes. Bex really knows what they need and seems so lovely. Will be nice her coming down to yrs as she can see Ari and Ettie too xx
I love how slowly you start your horses! And I'm really looking forward to how Whinnie's colour is going to change, would love to see her go grey
So excited for her future! Beks did an awesome job, looking forward to more whinnie content
The starting got me so ready🤣
Love you Meg!!!
AHHH love these videos with the babies :DD
She looks great those little pig roots are nothing considering your saddle would be heavier and you probably are a little heavier than Becks so whinnie did really well and clearly love hacking out - you two are going places 🤩
It was very cute when Ettie met whinny and I was surprised that milly actually let whinny see Ettie! Ps.I love your videos and you are why I started horse riding
I have just backed my youngster I completely agree with you. I was so nervous and I got help and she’s going so well! I was so nervous to do her first ie first canter, first hack etc! I could go on I always look at excuses for her to do something today we mastered out first solo hack! Couldn’t be more proud I completely feel you meg! Good luck she’s lovely!! Believe in your self! It’s okay to ask for help!!
I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU SHE LOOKS LOVELY
