I finally review gaming IEMs

EPZ is a new IEM brand (at least new to me). You asked me to review their stuff, so I'm taking a look at three of their IEMs at once. Satisfied?

    $80 for the Q5? It costs around $40 here which is surprising.

    What a surprise reviewing EPZ sets! Too bad no EPZ 530 in the review, that was a gem. Awesome review as always, 5 stars.

    I really like using IEMs with a mic for hands free calling without having to worry about battery life. If you get something like these again, a small recording with the mic would be appreciated! One of the main advantages of IEMs over TWS buds is the audio quality, and long life due to no lithium batteries to degrade, imo. Currently using a Kinera Gramr for my iem mic, and while its not a great cable, the mic always gets compliments from people on the other end. Love your reviews, and the quality of your videos!

    I tend to agree on the audio quality of these cheap inline mics, though they don't have any noise cancellation like TWS mics typically do so you'll get more background and typing sounds. You don't mind talking with your ears occluded by IEMs?

  • @TekunoTheSecond

    @TekunoTheSecond

    @@SuperReview The Kinera Gramr cable has a boom arm on it which attaches near the 0.78 2 pin connector which I like over an inline mic. I typically use discord which already has noise suppression built in (not the same as active noise cancelling, but still good). Talking with IEMs in my ear doesn't bother me. I probably talk louder than I would normally, but I've got a Semi open back set of IEMs coming tomorrow which will help with that too.

    Another reason that good IEMs with mics would be helpful is for console gamers who will probably find it easier to use their phone for voice calls over setting up a computer nearby. I realise that my preferences are, not everyone's preferences, but I guess what I'm trying to say is that there is a market for IEMs like this, and I expect to see more of them. In these cases the mic quality affects the value of the iem because if the mic sucks, their team mates are going to complain.

    @@TekunoTheSecond I completely agree with your usecase, i also attend a lot of teams calls using the IEM with Mics, i have experimented with a lot of cables with inline mics with mostly disappointing results as most of these mics are kinda made by the same manufacturer in china resulting into almost same quality of sound, the best mic i have discovered so far is the Moondrop MC2 Cable or Moondrop Free DSP

    R1 is great. R2 is meh, kinda just a slightly better cadenza in a smaller shell, a sale buy. T10 is good if you want the cheapest S12-like but otherwise nothing special. Aoshida E20 was the other Letshuoer release that impressed me a lot, it's one of the best properly harman IEMs right now, it's actually slightly more technical than the R1 with one less DD but also has less layering than the R1 which is like a baby penon.

    Dunu Falcon Pro is one of the few contemporary IEMs I've used that feels somewhat open. Most will create the effect you're trying to avoid, maybe IEMs aren't the solution you want.

    My reply is extremely late but I just picked up the u12t. I haven’t been able to put it through its paces in gaming yet but I can say that the pressure relief chamber works well. It’s supposed to have pretty great imaging. Another thing to check out is the raptgo hook x which has an iffy fit and can only be found on ebay these days. FiR audio has a similar pressure relief valve to the u12t in their iems but I have no idea on the imaging and qualities of any of their iems.
