Hey man is it really that much difference between mk1 vs mk2 I coped a og for $300 ?

Nice review. I currently have some Dunu Kima and plan to upgrade. I have my eye on the Moondrop Variations, how do the SA6 mk2's compare to this one. And also do you think an AMP/DAC is necessary to take advantage of them or is the Apple Dongle more than enough?

My favorite part of the sa6 line is the fully recessed 2 pin connector that fits really snugly. Makes it usable while sleeping even for a side sleeper.

Great review as always. I love the fact that you do comparisons to some of the competition. It helps us make a purchase decision. I have 1 question. Would the technicalities of the supernova match or exceed the Mest mkii (imaging, soundstage, separation, etc)?

Don't have MEST on hand to compare, but no, I don't think SA6 competes with MEST on techs.

Meteor is def special.

Interesting. I tried them in a shop and they sounded quite sibilant. The most out of all IEMs I tried there. All “s” and “sh” sounds were very sharp.

How would you compare the SA6 Mk2 to something like the Helios or U12t? As always, great video and awesome review, keep it up!

Uh, SA6 fits a lot better than Monarch mk2, but sound wise, no, I prefer Monarch.

S8 is more vocal forward: squig.link/?share=Super_22_Target,Moondrop_S8,Dunu_SA6_mkII_(off) S8 imaging is next level and bass is tighter.

I have sa6 mk1 This iem are a dream. I owned u12t, mest, tia trio, odin, solaris and many more but sa6 are awesome. They are not very realistic sounding iem, treble tehey are just ok/good but as a comolete package just great. I do not like ba bass but sa6 is so good I forget that is nit a dd inside.

Hi, does the acrylic hold over time? both my shure SE215 and sE425 have cracks where the sides join, the plastic becomes brittle and falls apart in that same spot

Haven't had that issue with any of my IEMs.

I just placed an order for HIFIMAN Ananda Stealth a few hours ago at $550. How would you compare the audio quality between the two. Is it even a fair comparison? My ears would say yes, what do you think?

I prefer my 2’s over my OG’s, b/c they fit better & sound more spacious and airy; sorta’ like planars. Nonetheless, the OG’s are still exceptional universal IEM’s, as they’re lush & a bit more musical, by comparison. My reference is in regards to other IEM’s that I’ve owned or auditioned: Shure 235, 535 & 846. Monarch MK2, Timeless 7hz, Timeless 7hz AE, Raptgo x HBB Hook-X, Campfire Vega 2020 & Dorado 2020.

I'm on the OG Timeless which I absolutely love, and I'm looking to upgrade. I've told that even in the kilobuck range, I won't necessarily be blown away by anything, especially detail retrieval wise - that's how good some say the timeless is. Since it's my first IEM in a VERY long time (think Ultimate Ears Super Fi triple driver lol from 2005 or something), I'm blown away by the timeless. To get a true, proper upgrade, should I consider something like the Helios, or the much loved U12T? I have a set of over ear planars that I love, and the timeless kinda gives me that planar speed and incisiveness. Are BA drivers at all like that? I've heard single DD items, but never a BA or tribrid. Curious to hear your thoughts.

@@BarabasKarabas If you’re asking me, from a point of diminishing returns perspective, you can stop with Timeless AE’s, if they’re comfortable and you get a good to great seal. The SA6 MK2’s hit harder & have a bit more weight, but that’s about it. I loved the sound of the AE’s. Returned them due to poor fit. They were very painful in my ears 🤕 The short & sharp bend upwards on them was wild 🥵 Nonetheless, I was completely satisfied with the resolution & bass of the AE’s ✅ The space & air of the AE’s are unmatched 🤺

@@nazreenshah8001 The 846’s were top shelf, back in the day. They’re more comfy & the bass isn’t as rolled off, but they pale in every other regard, in comparison to the Monarch’s. Nonetheless, the DuNu MK2’s are the best I’ve heard.

I got one for $290!

I wait for the performer 8 then I will decide if they are at a similar price.I don t like too much bass and treble kardon sound, I like reference type.For me it's mistake the bass tuning but there are a lot of bass heads out there.I also hope crinacle makes a warmer Blessing 3 Dusk with less 8 khz peak and more air over 10 khz range.Great review ❤

Not better, different. More contrasty, less midrangey.

The bass or lack thereof, is why I'm not buying the SA6 MkII and Blessing 3. I was very close of ordering a SA6 MkII when it first came out, but was afraid the all BA set is going to have poor bass like most IEMs that uses BAs for bass. I need dynamic drivers for bass. Instead of the SA6 MkII, I ordered the Penon 10th Anniversary Edition and an upgrade cable, which comes out to the same price of the SA6 MkII. Thank you for this review.

i havent heard the supernova and the Meteor but to me the B3 definitely better than the SA6 Mk2, even the OG SA6 is better than the SA6 Mk2 to me.

SA6 definitely looks nicer than SA6 MKII.

There's clearly context here. SA6 Ultra is one of the very few IEMs that sold over MSRP second hand due to having a very limited release and the OG Sa6 just being a very popular IEM. (The entire stock sold out within a week of launch from memory.) It's only natural that DUNU would follow up with a massed produced version of the SA6 Ultra, those collab commissions do take their toll don't they?

Have you experienced any sibilance or harshness with the Supernova. And will they fit small/medium ears ok…thanks.

It is quite good, perhaps I focused too much on why it's not excellent.

MY double-blue SA6 Ultra is way easier on the eyes than that odd 2-tone elephant butt lookin thing. Just my 2 cents.
