I cracked up when I heard you say that you’re hiking 13 miles and it’s kind of a Nero. When I hiked 14 miles into Hot Springs, it is one of the first days I hiked that many miles. I was so excited about my accomplishment. I still am! My biggest day on the AT was 22 miles! I am in my 60s so it stands to reason.😊😊😊
Hope your having a Fab Strong Hiker Day Taylor....listening to you make comments about people 'busting' on you about your 'food pyramid'...just makes my desire for binging on 'Nerds Gummy Clusters' more acceptable....😆Thanks! G~
13 miles=nero. Hiker legs kicking in! 😊
Hot Springs was the first time we took 24 hrs off the trail. You are hiking faster than we did, about three days ahead of where we were. My husband had a big blister on his foot and needed the extra rest. We stayed at Elmer’s. There used to be an outfitter place on the north end of town. We went there, bought new (better) socks for him and threw away his old ones. We even managed to check out the hot springs. Nice town! Hope you have a good time there! You go, girl! Loving your postings.

i enjoy my walkman radio on the trail in my tent at night . enjoying your hike
Hey Taylor! Nice chill day! Sweet majorette slow-mo! To me, a nero can be low miles or low hours. I definitely think this was a nero, so much town activity! It all looked amazing! Huge thanks to the angel for the mystery box! You rock! 🙏 Thanks for bringing us along today. I hope tomorrow’s miles are kind. Keep truckin’ and be well. -Grateful
learning more about the amazing AT community what a lovely gesture sending the care package, personal interaction with the hikers amazing, and to see a smiley glowing happy taylor can only make the day better enjoy
Your followers know you well. Nice gift/package.
Thanks!
Enjoyed your video. I live just a few miles away from Hot Springs. We do pronounce it AppaLACHian. Good luck on the rest of your journey.
Love that you show random things like shopping and stuff. Being in the UK it is interesting to see what you have in the US :) This package from Instagram user was so sweet ❤
That descent into Hot Springs is a killer! You are killing it…. Keep it up.💪🏼💪🏼
Thank you so much for sharing the hostel prices. I've been wondering about that as well!
Noticed Many more smiles per mile on this day.
I loved that hike into Hot Springs. The anticipation of being close to town gives you a little more motivation to crush those last few miles!
Taylor you are awesome, always a smile on your face....your journey is inspiring! Keep on trekking
Lovely update and great to see you mixing it up between tenting and hostels, nothing like a hot shower and clean clothing to get mood up. ❤
That pizza looks amazing! Still loving your journey!
So nice to have a “gap” named for you! 😂
You are an Inspiration, Taylor!!; Keep doing a great Job!!. Thank you for bringing us along with you. Seen you, makes me feel ENERGIZED!!🏃🚶. Thanks for stay in touch with us.👍🏻👍🏻
Hot springs actually had a German POW camp during WW1.
I loved watching how excited you were opening that care package! 🥰🥰 I was smiling along with you!
Pizza and a cold can of pop..... Looks delicious! (Or, maybe a box of Arm & Hammer, if you're really looking for "soda", laugh out loud) :-)
Hi Taylor! I love your channel and I'm so glad it popped up in my feed a few months back...I especially like it when you stay in towns overnight and get a good meal and a proper bed. Thanks for Vlogging on your adventure!❤
I love jalapeños on pizza! Great choice!😊
Still Heading North. Stay Safe and HIKE ON!!!
Keep it up Taylor!!! Love your vlog. You’re doing great!!!
Maybe I’ve missed it, but I’m curious about the zip tie loop on your left shoulder….? Love the vlog! Thanks for helping me re-live my thru vicariously!
She’s so relaxed & relaxing.. while crushing 13-mile near-Os!
Another great video and I like the nero idea. Nothing like a surprise care package with some of your favorites--the slow motion was especially cool. Your videos continue to be inspirational!

I really enjoy your daily vlog, thanks so much for taking the time to post them. Good luck as you head up the trail.
Hot Springs really is a great hiker town! Went there for the first time last fall after hiking at Max Patch. One of my favorites!
The Jalepeno pizza, and Ollie pop was perfect combo, now you are speaking my language
Thank you. Food looked good.
A well deserved break! Time to just relax a bit. 😊
I so want to through hike the AT. Very cool to watch your progress. Be safe!
Great views. Nice that someone sent care package.
Fun care package! Happy hiking!
Good video, with some good views, lots of nice foods, so let's keep on hiking..😅
You are kicking but. Im following a few hikers this year and one just got to hot springs at day 30 something. Keep it up
Enjoy your journey
Thank you for the daily updates. so much good information! You are always so happy in the videos. Hopefully you get some nice weather this week. What kind of watch do you have?
Nice trekking pole twirl at 2:28 Taylor Hollow Gap👍 What a thoughtful care package! Rest well Nahamsha. ✌️
Hot Springs NC is one of my favorite places in the world.
Always a Dollar General,Family Dollar or Dollar Tree near you in N C
Glad you caught a good day! You really make that hike look easy...How long have you been using REI Traverse trekking poles.? I presume you like them a lot. Thanks for another great vlog...loving this daily update...fantastic format.
Hi Tailor I been watching all your videos you are so inspirational..I learned so much from you..I'm new at back packing ..I'll be doing a lot up white mountains this year and I definitely plan on visiting your store in Gilford. Was wondering if you ever done any videos of jewl trail on Mount Washington I hiked it twice and both times I only made it to the tree lines right before starting summit..bad weather came out of no where and we had to turn around one of the times we had to take emergency shelter it was pretty scary..but we made it out next morning ..ever since that bad experience I was afraid to do more back packing, however I'm breaking that fare and I really want to complete Mount Washington this year on jewl trail..do you have any videos of you hiking that trail? Looking forward to watching you finish the Appalachian for your second time..your amazing and so educational..thank you so much for sharing all your experiences hope to see you when I visit store in July...have fun and stay safe 😊
You didn’t cook breakfast.. I’m telling your mom
You got this :)
Another awesome video. This video I actually playing on 2 different devices right now and slightly off sync lol.
Nice to see lots of jalapenos on the Pizza. Arizona is smiling.
Taylor, LMK how the all-American works burger was. Much love to you, and keep doing what you do! ❤️
Your snacks look awesome, although my drink of complete decadence will always be Dr. Pepper. Sadly, the rest of the country doesn't find it as appealing as we Texans do. That was super nice of someone to send you a surprise box, though!!
Omg that Pizza looks so freaking good
U go Tay!!👟👟
I get the Dunks.😂
Love that watch! What watch is it? Sounds like ya got da hiker hunger… lol great day!
The Pizza looked amazing......
What watch are you wearing? I like the size of the face.
Prezzies!
Love your channel ! You are an Inspiration!
🦋
❤😂🎉 hey Taylor 😎 Ken NC
So, you keep talking about oatmeal and peanut butter. Are you using powdered peanut butter? Love you videos..
Gear question. I use a Garmin 235 - on long hikes it only has the battery life for about 6-7 hours. What do you track with and how is the battery life?
Taylor, what brand is your watch? ONWARD!!!
✌🏽
does your hubby ever go on these hikes with you? or do you guys do stuff that you enjoy together out doors??? i have found it hard to fiind a balance in any relationships ive been in, even with out doorsy people... we each do our separate things, even if its the same thing, its like when we are together its a non stop competition... pretty much the opposite of what i ever wanted in a relationship... lol... the best trail partners have all just been friends, no ties other than that...made the wife jealous for years, but id say you can always come along, we wont ditch you, until you get on our nerves😂😂
Will you make it to Damascus Virginia for Trail Days
Love your videos ! Thanks for talking about the "Far Out" app! Is it accurate in terms of water sources? You said you almost missed the water source (the one w/ the leaf) if you didn't see other hikers filling up there. Are they all hard to spot or just a few? I would be worried about not having enough water. How do you all deal w/ the water situation or is the app pretty good? And don't worry about the trolls, you are out there to have fun so glad you are watching Survivor. : ) Also, did you ever consider writing an AT Tip book, you can write about the Far Out App and how to use (I didn't know there were diff sections of the app), water sources, shelters and hostels, shuttle rides, gear, etc. I would def buy it. I'll def be in NH this summer and when I do , I'll def be stopping in your shop! Thanks for putting out these videos. THey are very informative!

The Far Out App has everything you listed, and all Town info to include all stores, hostels, hotels, shuttle contacts, post offices, grocery stores, and telephone numbers to all. And it’s all user interactive to leave comments from past experiences and good and bad comments.
What hiking watch do you use?
What watch are you wearing?
What watch are you currently using? I have the Garmin Vivo active 3.. think you had it previously. Looking for pros/cons. Thanks!

Is it scary to sleep in the woods by yourself? How did you overcome it?

Just the gift she needed to add to her 19 pound pack: 1/2 pound of sugar and corn syrup (Gushers are that, plus worse stuff), 2 pounds of double-caffeine bottled coffee, and 3/4 pound of chocolate. If she had no other added sugars in her diet, this is about a week's worth. I like Snickers, and they do contain nuts, so I'll give those a pass, but when they're by far the healthiest thing in a "Care package" it makes me glad I'm not the person they mailed it to. With friends like that, who needs enemies? She'll probably have to drink up the two Dunkins quickly to keep it from weighing her down, and they contain as much caffeine as 10 cans of Coke. The person sending the gift should drop what they're doing, drink 10 Cokes or the two Dunkin bottles themselves, and then immediately go hike 20 miles up and down mountains. If you ask a cardiologist if that's advisable, they'll ask if you have a death wish. Even a well-intended gift sometimes belongs in a dumpster or regifted. What you can get away with as a couch potato is way different from what someone needs when pushing their body almost every day for 4 months. Gushers: 2x 6x 0.8oz contains: 228% RDA added sugars, 36% RDA saturated fat Dunkin Iced Coffee 2x 13.7oz contains: 114% RDA added sugars, 42% RDA saturated fat + 394mg caffeine Mayo Clinic says: Up to 400 mg of caffeine a day appears to be safe for most healthy adults. That's roughly the amount of caffeine in four cups of brewed coffee, 10 cans of cola or two "energy shot" drinks. Snickers 6x 1.86oz contains: 312% RDA added sugars, 138% RDA saturated fat The only saving grace is that even the worst forms of added sugar will mostly get burned off by the hiking, if she manages to meter out when she eats them according to activity level. But they really do combine poorly with caffeine, when it comes to cardiac health, especially regarding greatly increasing the risk of developing arrythmias or tachycardia. I got away with it until age 35, when I received the choice of lifetime meds, or seeing if eliminating caffeine (except the amounts in small amounts of chocolate) let me avoid that. It took me 6 months to wean off caffeine, but I'm 65 now, still not needing heart meds. Deciding to sacrifice caffeine then, is the only reason I can still be as athletic as I wish, though Covid in 2020 did put a big dent in that for almost a year, with minor lingering effects still. Had I not done the right thing in my 30s, I would have not been able to be in shape in my 60s, and Covid definitely would have killed me 37 months ago. Taylor is young and healthy enough to get away with a lot. I don't fault her at all, what she is doing is quite natural. I borrowed from my body at her age also, feeling a bit invincible. At some point, you have to repay your body or suffer the consequences. I wish I'd learned my lesson and upped my game before age 35, when I had little choice but to tighten up or become a typical lazy, out of shape American on lifetime meds and headed toward major medical problems. We are free to be as unhealthy as we choose. Criticism of someone who is already 99th percentile in most ways, is wrong, so please accept my apologies if this comes across as critical rather than advisory, an attempt to pass on things I learned the hard way, so that others might not have to. You only get one body. Take care of it, or it will bite you later in life.

You mean well and you're right, but if you've been here for a while you know that Taylor is aware that some choices might not be the healthiest ones. She discussed it a fair few times (after many condescending comments). She also explains that she doesn't show everything she eats, so it's not all candy and ice coffee. In order to do what she does daily you just need a fair amount of calories in in a short time. It's very good advice but it's been discussed here so often that by now, the talking about the diet gets a bit tiresome..
Holy jalapeño!
