🎶 It's Not Easy Being Green 🎶

I HAVE THAT ONE IN THE EXAKT SAME COLOR!!! Got it in 2016 for $600 because it was a student who needed fast money. I’ve loved it ever since. It sounds AMAZING and I’ve been waiting for you to review/check it out. Mine was mint condition, except for some finish cracks, but personally I find that charming. Sadly it’s not mint anymore due to an accident where my friend dropped a guitar pedal on it and it lost a small chip of color/finish on the front side where the arm rests My dad heard rumors of there only being 200 of these models per color, and there were 4 colors so 800 in total. My dad desperately wanted to know this so he mailed them and the answer was something in the line of “We’re not allowed to give information about that, but I can personally tell you that they are rarer then most know.”

I always hate when people describe their guitars "Like New" but they are a 10 year old guitar with dents and mods. "It's only cosmetic, doesn't affect playability" but has a chunk of finish missing. Some people...

Yea I never understood those people either. Always makes me want to reach back out to them and ask out of genuine curiosity why they believe it is such

Mods could effect the sound but dents and especially missing finish isnt gonna effect the sound 1 bit. You cant hear paint.

@@functionatthejunction that’s referring specifically to sound though; even a busted up old guitar can sound and play like ‘new’. Refinished touch ups and dents is certainly not what you’d expect from a ‘like new’ instrument, cosmetically speaking, which is what the misleading description is about

Seriously, the most FUTURISTIC electric guitar design ever created was Leo's and George's Fender Stratocaster. Imagine seeing that instrument for the first time back in the 1950s. What a legacy. And what a design. The original ... and still the best!

9:25 it's because it's quarter sawn maple, I personally like plain sawn more for looks.

I have the orange version. Gibson refers to the fretboard inlays as shark 🦈 tooth. I had it in storage for 2 years, and it was still in tune 😮

I own the Epiphone version of this guitar and easily became one of my favorite guitars! It's called the Epiphone Rebel EM-2. Very versatile guitar and an awesome shredder! They're very rare and hard to find. Greetings from The Netherlands!

Even with it not being fully set up, the non-split tones of the Dirty Finger pickups sounded like ass.

It’s not bad looking, I see the Strat influence and the Electric Green really screams 80s more than 90s imo.

Who pays the shipping when you return ? Thats two times the shipping costs and a lot of wasted money.

You ain’t kidding! As soon as I saw that massive blemish on the upper body I had a feeling it wasn’t going to improve as the video went on… then when he showed us the possible neck fracture I knew this was going to sound bad… and it did lol… this had such potential too…

I would love a review of the L6S reissue from 2011. I have 2 of the Silver Burst models and they are my favourite guitars, along with a mid 90's G&L Legacy.

im really dont mind on finish touch-up job , as long as rightly done and look good in normal lighting, not a covered up the damage ,not really a problem to me the guitar how it look in black light , of course if the guitar condition very different than the seller said, then totally different story , save everyone time if every seller slightly honest .

I really would like a green one, and i have an orange one! They are good, but the frets could do with being bigger.

that look to the fret board is quarter sawn maple. Most maple boards (particularly Fender one piece necks) are Flat sawn.

@@TroyDADDY1984 It is the way the tree is cut. You get less lumber with quartersawn and therefor is more expensive to do. Quartersawn wood has straight grain and vertical grain on the board ends. It is way stiffer and more stable in humidity/temperature changes. Good guitar necks are made of quartersawn wood and are really strong and won't break off like gibsons usual plainsawn mahogany necks. There is also rift sawn which is what they use for table legs as all 4 sides will have the same straight grain, you can tell if something is rift sawn if the end grain is diagonal. Rift sawn is somewhere between plainsawn and quartersawn.

7:20 that’s a shame. If anything Mr Trogly you’ve educated us all on the importance of using a “black light” when inspecting guitars. I actually quite like this one even with its maple fretboard. Oh well. I’m sure you’ll find another one 😎🎸🤘

8:12 geez those pickups are hot ! Hotter than all 5 of my Solar guitars with original Duncan Solar pickups!! The only guitar that I have that’s close to that is my gloss black PRS Tremonti single cut!!

Awesome that you are doing the Schecter guitars, I'm a fan of those. I would really like you to go over a Solo 2 Custom in detail, curious about the neck and build quality!

I've always liked these since I saw them in 'The Gibson' book. If they want to reissue it again they might want to try and give one to Teemu Mantysaari (new Megadeth guitarist) perhaps as a new custom model.

Very late 80's-90's geetar!!! Did they make any left handed versions? Bet its a screamer!! Floyd rose! Amazing what you seem to get your hands on. Not too many you havent seen at this point. Would like to see more early 80's-90's gibson LP 1959,60 reissues. Maybe the one burst Norms rare guitars helped to design. The old tomato burst! Rock on!🎸🎶

The M series of superstrats is literally the best line of guitars Gibson has ever made. I myself have an Epiphone EM1 Rebel. I wish these brands would start making decent guitars like these superstrats again, rather than re-releasing the same guitars and raising the price every year.

Honestly they just need to flip the headstock and maybe change the inlays, tone down the swag a tiny bit. Colors can be radical still.

In the early 90's we were right on the cusp of Nirvana and Pearl Jam taking over the airwaves. The MIII Perhaps didn't get the love it probably deserved.

I really like the look of that guitar. And despite the issues, I am curious if you think it could be a good player. I understand it's not in the condition expected, but at a lower price, could it be set up and be a great playing guitar? Definitely not in good enough condition for your collection, but for me, at the right price, I'd probably rock it if I knew, playability wise, it was fine. I definitely think Gibson should remake this one!

I had an ibanez RG270 in a color very similar to that. maple board too.

Salutations Austin! Beautiful color of green! Too bad it didn’t measure up to what you thought it would be, but at least you were able to return it without any issues. Had it been in better condition, it would’ve been a nice addition to your collection. It definitely didn’t seem to inspire you to play much, and you played a very limited selection of guitar licks, not even playing any of your more standard chord progressions, and barely any improvisation. I really like the finish, but the defects are too questionable, unless it were sent back to Gibson for a proper repair and refinish. Personally, I would prefer one without the Floyd Rose Tremolo, but I am not sure they made any of those without one, since it is there version of a “Super Strat”, but I think I would rather just have one with a more standard Gibson style bridge and stop bar, or string through set up, however, I suppose an “Ever Tune” or a “Vega Trem” could be installed on one like this. The Electric Green is definitely a nice finish option. Thanks for sharing! Please have an excellent and awesome day! ☀️✨🎸

I had a '92 Gibson MIII Deluxe and that was a KILLER guitar. It did everything. It sounded like a Strat. It sounded like a Les Paul. I regret selling that one.

This was a good one. Adds a bit of drama, pathos, if you get my drift.

Honestly, the only thing I didn't like about the MIII around 2013 are the colors. All of the other traits are pretty cool/interesting. I haven't played one, but I remember seeing them back then and being intrigued. But those colors, eh... not appealing, IMO

You should review a Les Paul Studio Lite M-III or a mid to late 90’s Gibson ES-135 with P-100s. I discovered your channel while doing a search to find someone reviewing a 1985 Gibson Les Paul Studio Custom in Ebony like my 1st Gibson. What a great guitar. It also surprises me how you stay away from acoustic guitars. Playing acoustic is the other essential part of the equation.

I want one. But I want the tiger stripe pic guard and poker chip. 😍

Many years ago Gibson got it right going against the Strat. The Gibson SG humbuckers have no noise and a killer guitar. It's not a single coil like Strats of that era but they wanted double cut-away and more balls. For Gibson to make a Strat-alike is wrong to me. That's why you need a nice Strat and a nice Gibson. Single coils have their game like humbuckers have their own sound too. I want a Strat to sound like a Strat and a Gibson to sound like a Gibson. I don't know what it was about the PUPS in that Gibson but it sounded muddy. If dirty fingers sound like that, I would never buy them. Thank Slash for bringing the Gibson Les Paul back, I don't know what Gibson was drinking back then lol. It looked like Jackson and Gibson had an ugly baby lol. I'm usually a lot nicer in my comments but I had to be honest. Rip out those PUPS if you like it.

That sounds atrocious. If you hear fret buzz when the guitar is AMPLIFIED, the action is WAY too low. The strings are almost completely choked out.
