A PET scan earlier this year saved my husband’s life. The purpose was to look to see why, after radiation, his PSA score was climbing. They found cancerous lymph nodes, but that was not the miraculous part. Jon had had a serous cough for months. The PET scan found a pill had lodged in his right lung. That pill removal was an all day procedure. The surgeon said that pill would have caused lung issues and eventually death, very glad the PET scan was done on both of you!

Cancer and anxiety should not be normalized. Ever. Both are maladaptive and should not occur so frequently in our species. Eat meat and anxiety and illness goes away, society can be functional instead of navigating everyone's individual triggers caused by eating sugar and carbs. Look to nature, the anxiety issues in non domesticated animals doesn't exist, it's only happening to humans and the animals we "care" for.

Watched your video tonight. I am on the backend of thyroid cancer. Last year I noticed a lump on the right side of my throat. Come to find out I have cancer. The doctor removed my entire thyroid after 5 hours of surgery. After the surgery I had to take radioactive iodine to kill any thyroid cells that might have been missed by the surgery. I now follow up with blood work and ultrasounds. This will continue for another year. I truly feel what you are going through. Remain strong and I admire your courage. We love you and your husband. It's comforting knowing you have someone to go through this with you. Our prayers are with you and your husband. God bless you and He is with you each step of the day.

Jessica, I think you are doing fantastic considering everything you are going through. You seem to be dealing with everything better with each appointment. I know what you show here is only a snippet of what is really going on, so maybe you aren't doing as well as it seems. But you have been rather brutally honest about everything, and I commend you for that. Cancer is scary, and dark, it is a nasty beast. You and Brian have been fighting head on and you have kept your sense of humor. That is so hard to do. You have the best doctor's working for you and the best medical clinics and all the people that go with that working on you. Beating cancer is 50% mental attitude, 25% health and 25% medical. At least in the personal cases that I have seen. We love you guys and are praying for you. Keep fighting and I'll be praying extra hard on December 29th, the day of your surgery.

I'm working with a weight loss program that prepares people for bariatric surgery... except I'm determined NOT to have surgery. After 50+ years of "dieting" and achieving 348# I've lost 30# since February, I've learned more things about what my body needs. PROTEIN PROTEIN PROTEIN. They actually told me that plant-based eating wasnt compatible with bariatric surgery. I've always needed high-protein; most days I'm still not getting enough. So I need animal products. But I'm working toward whole-food vege for everything else, since sugar, cheese, bread, other sweets are "not my food." ALSO Jessica you ARE lucky! I broke my jaw and several teeth doing a faceplant on the cement. hang in there, I'm so inspired by your incredibly good attitude and sharing your adventure. Much love. Something similar happened to me on Halloween afternoon. My grandsons were outside with me waiting for their ride to go home. Aiden is 12 and Keithen 3. Keithen looked at me with this spark in his eyes and I knew he was going to bolt. He proceeded to run down our driveway just as I was about to grab his coat he veered off into the grass and I fell flat on my face. My older grandson said I went plop! Long story short..my grandson was safe, thank God, but I had more scraps and bruises all over my body. And the most pain I ever felt..a dislocated shoulder with massive tears which I am now in physical therapy. I felt so clutsey..so I understand how you felt. Tough year all around. Love going through this journey with you...May ..they found I had breast cancer..so I praying for a better 2023 for all of us.

I think of you both often and pray for strength, peace, and fight. You are encouraging so many people and have so many people pulling for both of you. I had to smile a bit at the mind's eye of your calamity with the dog and face plant. I know it was not funny, it was frightening but there you were running like the wind trying to catch that dog, and picturing the dog running though the car wash...it could have been so much worse. Thank goodness they caught the dog, and you have all your teeth! You certainly did not deserve that, but there you were fighting like crazy to stop the dog, falling head long, and coming up running again. You are just full of fight and survival. I admire you so much.

I feel your pain!! I did the exact ssme ting, in Porto, Portugal. Hit the cobblestone road, face first. Broke nose, broke glasses, broke my 2 front teeth, and flew home 2 days later, with a black eye, no front teeth, and looked horrible! So, know exactly how you feel, and look from your fall! Been following your cancer journey, and sending lots of prayers your way, this whole time. Vickie from SE Pa

Jessica, you are such a strong person and I pray for your speedy recovery. Stay positive as I truly believe that is very helpful going through life’s trials. On second note: Brian, heard someone on Sirius radio, on The Message, state how the station has helped them daily. Was that you? Sounded just like you. Hearing that voice really connected with me. God bless you both!!

I had to laugh when Brian said he wasn't involved. My mum who is elderly fell and hurt her face but she was ok other than a bruise. Because I'm her caregiver my concern was that people would think I had done it to her lol.

As a Mayo patient as well, they love to pack on as many appointments as possible. The long days are so stressful. My recommendation is to wear comfy clothes and shoes, bring things that help with nerves, and drink plenty of water (if that works for your itinerary). Wishing you the best! P.S. I dread going to Rochester as well.

Jessica your in my prayers. I have confidence your gonna beat this! I went through something similar at Barnes Jewish. My doctor was the head of oncology gynecology of the USA so I know exactly how it is to have good doctors taking care of me. I’m starting my 15 years cancer free this year. We met briefly on a zoom meeting of plant based stl and I’m glad I’ve been able to watch your journey. Keep positive energy for yourself because that’s what matters. ❤❤
