Not National Socialists like the germans of WW2, but Nazi as in believing the power of your country comes before the lives of others. The Soviet Union is another great example, by what they would do in places like Eastern Europe and Afghanistan.

Great stuff, Miles. The interviews with the locals were really interesting. The hospitality of the Afghans is amazing. It exceeds that of any other culture that I have encountered on my travels - which is even more extraordinary when you consider the poverty and decades of war that they have endured. Loved the Uncle Ted reference, by the way...

For those wondering about the “President Trenton” thing: the dog was likely named after the Battle of Trenton, where Washington crossed the Delaware and captured over 1000 Hessian troops after only two hours without firing a single shot or losing a single man. I wouldn’t be too upset if I was an American that they made this mistake - bin Laden had enough intellect to comprehend revolutionary American battles…most Americans probably couldn’t name a single leader of Afghanistan or an event in its history.

As a veteran who served in 3 tours of Bosnia and witnessed the suffering of that conflict, the hardship of the innocent I will donate to Lord Miles charity work. I'd also like to visit Afghanistan to highlight the suffering America and British forces inflicted upon them. The plight that these people (especially the children) are suffering is truly heart-breaking.

As heart wrecking as the kids were, as funny as running a movie night of Rambo 3 to the Afghanis were, to me the highest point was the elderman showing off his SMLE, a gun that's 100 years old, that took service in at least three wars against world's empires, being kept in some afghani hut for years.
