About Beneath the Surface:
A relaxing hiatus from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Sit in a remote corner of the world, drop a line, and see what bites.
Beneath the Surface is a short and relaxing fishing game. The gameplay involves simply dropping a line and waiting for a bite. You can upgrade your fishing rod to be quicker and your line to go deeper. The deeper you go, the more curious and delightful your catches get!
This is my first indie venture after working for some bigger studios. I've had practice making mods and fishing games in the past so I thought I'd put my experience toward something that could help me relax a little. I hope it helps you too!

Rubber duck is a programming inside joke. A common debugging method is called the “rubber duck” method. The method has programmers explain code, sometimes even to some inanimate object like a rubber duck. Explaining your code can help you identify why something is breaking in a way you didn’t see before.

Food for thoughts for other hobby-coders out there

Reminds me going ice fishing with my pops and his buddy once. Didn't catch shit all day except for one catch I brought up. I was really heavy and wasn't putting up any fight at all. Turns out I had snagged the minnow bucket that was dropped down the hold the day before. 🤣 So technically I caught more fish in one cast than most people will catch their entire lives.

Trout is really good. Especially if cooked right. Even better if caught yourself!

3:12 Stop lyin to yourself Matt; your song is amazin and your singin in it isnt bad at all, stop puttin yourself down about it. Idve grtly enjoyed listenin to more of that song durin this vid... Well, actually i wudnt but only bcuz my auditory processin disorder makes it hard to hear speech when theres background noises xD Even quiet music is too much for me heh. Ive had to not watch many youtube channels bcuz of background music despite lovin the content in theory But if not for that id totes have enjoyed the music playin in the background; its a fine song and a proper bop as you brits wud say
