Yes!! Our human minds say...well, if it's this. It can't be that. But, if we truly understood...yes, it can be both..and more

I had a similar experience of what he calls hell except it was a dream. The dream was so profound it sent me into a depression for a very long time. . In the dream EVERYTHING suddenly dropped way. Earth, people, sounds, light, etc. I was consciousness floating alone in spaceless space. I was ALL there is. completely alone. I knew everything I thought existed wasn't real and I was profoundly alone. No friends , no family, pets, earth nothing ever really existed and now im back to reality which is only me. Like he said , it was all made up. The silence, the loneliness was so terrifyingly heartbreaking it can't be described with words. This was facing the reality that I am alone and all there is and ever was. The rest was all made up by me.

I enjoy your comparison of religious redemption versus learning to be in the present moment. And it can totally be added that learning to be in the present moment usually requires that we accept the emotional pain we are side lining and let it be felt and pass through. So if you have done some actions that upsets your conscience, coming into the present moment would require you to process what you have done and feeling the pain or shock or what ever of that. So coming into the present still requires that you are redeemed in some way, by your own conscience. On top of that, the present moment is a timeless and limitless sort of thing to discover. The more you peel back the layers of the onion that cover your true self, the more vast and indefinable the present moment becomes. All we know is that aiming for the present moment is good and feeling the present moment or what ever that is, feels really epic.

I was poor growing up. My mum always made organic food possible. The trouble is that people don't know how to navigate the world of organics and just buy what they need and don't know how to avoid false brands and producers and also should get into growing your own stuff. Get involved in community back yard farming and markets and trade produce with your neighbours. It's a way of life. If you live in the desert and you have no arable land, then I get it. But I never really know how to relate to people that go on about climate change but they say that eating organic is too hard. Well glueing yourself to the road in a climate protest isn't fun. Why not put some real effort into something useful like growing food or helping with local land care to keep the local eco system healthy etc.

Once Adam and Eve sinned they were thrown out of Eden, so that they would not eat from the tree of life and live forever. Revelation tells us that in the New Jerusalem there will be 2 similar trees of life so that we live for ever. Now can someone answer...??? Since in ''Hell'' there will be no such tree of life, how will the sinners live forever so that they will tortured? Answer is that there is no eternal torment and no Hell. God is love !!! Sinners will just not live anymore. They will stay in their graves for ever.

So, one in every million NDE testimonies say there is a hell. In the ones that say there is a hell, always are pulled out into love. There is NO evidence of hell. You have to ignore millions and millions of actual people who say it doesn't exist. But, stubbornly, in denial and without intellectual honesty, some will keep on believing.

Our understanding of God is limited by our inherent nature. In general, that which has been created cannot understand its creator. A painting can never understand its painter.
