I Entered Myanmar from Mizoram & Spent a Day without Visa & Passport | Rih Dil Lake | Border 🇮🇳

Today we entered Myanmar from a placed called Zokhawthar in Mizoram. Upon reaching Zokhawthar, you can easily cross the gate between India and Myanmar and spend a day in Myanmar without a passport and visa. I have experienced many tourist places in Mizoram so far but this crossing Indo-Myanmar border and getting to spend a day in Myanmar was one of my fav things to do.
Zokhawthar is a border town in the Champhai district of Mizoram state of India. There is one Zokhawthar in India and another in Myanmar. The two are divided by a gate. Upon entering Zokawthar, we took a bike and headed to Ril Dil Lake - one of the key tourist attractions of Mizoram/Myanmar. Rih Dil is a natural lake located in northwestern Chin State in Myanmar. It lies at about 3 km from Zokhawthar, the nearest village situated at an Indo-Burma border. It has a heart-shaped outline.

We Mizos(Zo tribes) migrated from Yunan Province of China, our ancestors stayed in Myammar Kalay-Kabaw region for 300-400 years . Later in the early 18th century , we migrated further down to the then Lushai Hills(now Mizoram) . At present, We are divided and scatrered in Myanmar, India and Bangladesh. Inside India we live mainly in Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Assam and Meghalaya

The biggest lake in Mizoram is Rihdil lake but it is in Burma. This saying is due to mizo land divided into Burma side and India side when the British left India and divided the country, even some of mizo land was now under Bangladesh

Just as mizos were divided into many parts by colonial power nagas were also divided the same way by the british. In india nagas are found mainly in nagaland and many nagas are also found in manipur, arunachal pradesh and in assam and across the artificial boundry in myanmar many nagas are also found consisting of more that ten tribes.

No, incorrect statement. Mizo never migrated from Myanmar (Burma). The boundary was demarcated by the British between two countries, hence one half left over Burma and other on Indian side. Like Punjab, one half over West Pakistan and other in India. Giving incorrect information and narratives can trigger discomfort and disarray to the major Indian viewers, thinking mizo people migrated into India, currently happening in Manipur. There are khasi and Pnars(Jaintia) people living in Bangladesh, Nagas, Arunachals, Manipuri/ Kuki in Myanmar.

The British seperated us into different countries, and even here in India, into different states. Rih Dil is a lake that every soul has to pass through to reach 'pialral', according to Mizo folktales. But that lake is now in Myanmar because of the boundary that was created by the colonial power.

Indian part is again divided into states of Tripura, Assam and Manipur which all have a Mizo tribes and Mizo village in each states. Note: Rih lake is also used to be a part of Mizoram before the British which have a long history to Mizos.

The reason is this area is actually occupied by ZO people before British empire, they divided us by international border.. But the blood relation is thicker.. We travel as if we are in one country.. Which actually is true in our soul.. Nobody could stop this relation

I've enjoyed your video and think of visiting the place someday. I didn't notice the presence of security staff at the border gate as we would see at the Indo-Nepal border. Is there none to ask questions and check documents from both the countries?

Welcome to Mizoram, come again...where we've always been free... Our forefathers came from faraway lands ..Seeking freedom - you just wouldn't understand. We love our past - it's our fantasy. We're free to choose our own education. Praise be to God for making us truly free, To do what we want and say as we please.. In the land of the free and the home of the brave. Beacon for the world and this is how we behave. Ty for your visit... Once again
