    Oh, the second lamp is fabulous! I can see from looking at your cost list that using real wood branches would really bring down the cost. I live in the country & have been collecting branches for years, thinking I wanted to cover a large wooden frame I have with them. But now - a hanging lamp sounds pretty nice! Thanks so much for the tut.

    Love them both! I only wish the shades were the same proportions/shape as the originals (shorter and wider) since I feel like that's part of why they look so chic. Harder to do when sourcing an actual shade for the first one, but totally doable with the second shade since you get to decide how long the sticks are and how far apart to place the rings. Still love them both!

  • @hellobookworms3083

    I don’t usually like when DIYers change certain aspects of what they are trying to dupe but I really like the different yarn color you chose. It really pops! Also I love the Freya lamp and would probably try to dupe it too if I had a space for it. I like that you went with clay. I thought you were going to use wooden dowels but that would have removed the organic vibe. I would attempt dowels and cover them in a thin layer of air dry clay. That would probably be a lot lighter too. Love them both!

  • @DenMatglade
    @DenMatglade3 жыл бұрын

    You definitely succeeded with both of these! I really want to try them out myself! 😍 For the second lampshade I think it would've worked fine making your own clay (like saltdough clay) and thus also minimizing the cost a bit.

  • @cerwelt
    @cerwelt3 жыл бұрын

    Loved them both, but was so shocked you had made the “sticks” for the second lamp! I’m thinking about sourcing bamboo sticks to make a more wood like duplicate. I loved the “embroidered” one as well. My colors are more boho or southwest, but love the idea. I’m thinking some cross stitching would be so cute. Great job.

    I absolutely loved both of them. I will be looking out for second hand lamp shades. Fortunately I live in the country right in the middle of a tree limb harvest. So sticks are plentiful, I think I will try collecting some, since picking up sticks is a regular activity here! Lol

    I would make both shades. Unique lighting is my love. But I think I will go with hunting for sticks. Awesome inspo once again.

    I’m trying to have a woodsy feel in my room and I love this!!!! Thank you!!! It’s expensive but it’s still cheaper and how amazing to say you made it!!!! I actually bought this bundle of really long white slightly wavy sticks from Micheal’s! They were like $3.00!!! Haha I can’t wait to try it!!

    I love them both! I do have several metal lampshade frames and probably 100 lbs of sculpey/FIMO, though not all white, I could spray paint afterwards... I don't have any pendant lamps in need of an upgrade, but I do have several floor lamps that could use an upgrade....
