@@DarksideStreams Every manufacturer is, because they all, if not most, have marked that by 2040-2050+ they will have fully transitioned to electric if no alternative will be made, such as eFuel, something Porsche is exploring and investing in manufacturing of it. I know that Ford marked 2050 as the year where they will fully manufacture electric only. I am not sure about Dodge or Chevy, have to look that up. No idea about European manufacturers, I think Audi had something about it.

Those sales numbers happened because the heads of Viper at the time made the MONUMENTAL mistake of asking the Vipers Club of America what the new Viper should be... And they went all crazy and demanded it should be just like the old ones, but better. So Fiat... Italians otherwise know very well how to make a sportscar / supercar... They went ahead and made it just a normal Viper. Which obviously failed. Because the previous Viperse were also not selling. They made a car nobody wanted.

Back when the Corvette was complete and utter trash, people would start a flagwaving competition and get ultra defensive over it whenever it got criticised for being crap. But now that Corvettes are actually decent cars, people dont feel they need to leap forth, fist in the air, quoting the bible and constitution and defend FREEEEEDOM and the American dreeeeeam over it anymore. I dont know... Maybe people get super defensive over the underdog trying its best. Or maybe because a certain kind of blue-collar workingclass hero status. But as soon as it gets up to 130-140 000, then it looses that appeal. But, yeah. If Fiat was allowed to make the Viper they wanted America to have, then there would still be a Viper today. But it would have a modern engine and not an "Eight lidurh modurh"

We wanted the Viper owns to have one of the top quality sports cars we took great pride in being able to be a part of building the Dodge Viper. Thank you for your service sir. I have a 2006 gen3 coupe and upon dam near taking that car all apart I’ve noticed so many parts/panels have original hand written notes/time stamps on them with paint markers. These are truly literally hand build cars by people loved their work.

The Dodge Viper has always been my absolute favorite car since childhood, every racing game I played it was a must have go-to car. When I found out they cancelled production I was devastated. To this day it is my dream car, will always wish I could have a chance to even see one in person. You guys killed it with this video, and it was glorious watching this absolute beast of a car in its full lifespan and truly seeing how it evolved. Thank you for this amazing video.

Same here a last gen acr is one of my dream cars when I heard they cancelled it I was heartbroken

I dreamed of owning a Viper since I saw my first one in 1992 in person at my local Dodge dealer when I was just 13 years old. I promised myself I’d find a way to buy one someday despite not having much growing up, and I let that be a big part of my motivation to achieve success professionally. Almost exactly 20 years later I bought my first Viper, a 2008 convertible in blue w/ silver racing stripes, and it was the most visceral & fun car I’ve ever driven. Owning it has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve done in my life (aside from getting married, having kids, & buying my house… haha). Then a few years later, I bought the ultimate Viper, a 2017 ACR Extreme that was fully custom ordered from Dodge as a 1 of 1 car in a color that nobody else had, and with special options from the factory that you couldn’t get on an ACR otherwise. That car is truly the pinnacle of not only the Viper’s entire production run, but it’s also by far the most exciting, track focused, and extreme car I’ve ever driven period (and I’ve driven the majority of sports cars and supercars on the market from the last decade). I use the 2008 as my Sunday “fun” car to enjoy driving, while the 2017 is the highlight of my collection and makes appearances at a few special car events each year. It’s sad that the Viper was killed off and will likely never be produced again, but it’s also amazing that we had a car such as the Viper created & produced, and that we can still enjoy driving and racing them going forward. And I fully agree with the assessments of each generation of Viper in this video, as they kept getting better with age (at least the engine & performance), with the Gen 5 combining the best of performance, looks, and overall features to be one of the best supercars ever made. 🏎️💨

I love how serious he gets when they start driving the ACRs - no time to even talk when the Viper needs you to shut up to stay alive 😂

I loved vipers so much as a kid. This video put such a huge smile on my face seeing how much those two enjoyed these amazing pieces of machinery. I envy Jeremiah and Nolan. Awesome video.

The timing of this car's production and the fact that there are very few of them out there ( one of which is in my garage with 138,000 miles on it.) make it incredibly singular and unique. Extraordinary design. Damn near unbeatable in it's final form. Unless Dodge has something absolutely out of this world to offer, I hope Dodge let's the Viper legacy rest. As they said in the vid... Don't be sad that it's no longer being made. Be thankful this car existed at all.

Had a great time filming with Donut at Willow Springs International Raceway. Amazing how much work you guys do for such short clips after the editing. Great meeting everybody. Honestly the smiles on the two of your faces when you drove the first RT10 is just so cool. You could tell that you guys were legit pulling those smiles from your teenage cells like we all were when we had posters of that red viper on our walls!!

I got the chills watching this. Experienced vicariously through you guys. It’s easy to see how much you enjoyed driving your dream car. At some points you both sounded like excited little kids. One of my favorite videos of the channel. Thanks, Donut.

As a kid my first model car was the original viper and my obsession with this beauty started from there. Amazing to see you guys driving these beasts.

I ended up with an 05 Ram single cab SRT-10 because I actually don't like driving in cars/sedans anymore, when a 2nd gen ACR was my dream car growing up( Im only 35) That's the one you needed to drive with the T-56 instead of that 4-door dog with the auto. I sold mine last summer when car prices peaked- super fun truck, but nothing beats the thrill of two-wheels at the track and the price per mph is substantially more obtainable for the everyday person.

I don’t believe there is a car guy in the universe who doesn’t want to drive a viper at least once. It’s just so iconic.

Just the level of coordination to get all the generations of cars in one place is impressive. Nice work!

I am one of the viper nuts, I absolutely love everything about these cars, my absolute to die for favorite is the latest ACR, because it has the looks and it just seems like what they were trying to do the entire time with it’s phenomenal brakes and acceleration, and the 4th gen is my close second, because I love the way it looks and it’s that good combination of refined and still a little raw. Loved this video

The second-gen was really something. As a early 90's kid, that was the iconic car; the poster, the 1/18 scale model, to video games. The 4th Gen, even though it scares the shit outta you, show no fear, get that "you can't be weak forever" mindset, and control the beast, like Jerry's expression at 16:00. While your passenger is sweating bullets. I can feel that adrenalin watching this video. The final 5th Gen was definitely a final salute.

When I was 16 I was able to drive second gen Vipers at the Skip Barber racing school at Laguna Seca... I remember getting in and the guy telling me to use second and third gear going around the skid pad. It had so much power, you did not need to worry about first gear. So much FUN to drive!

Love this format of “coming up” and sponsor advert in the middle ! Reminds me of those early Discovery turbo shows and Powernation of early 2000s to 2010s !

Something I found interesting. When Jerry is driving, he's all serious and concentrated. Then when it's over here all giggles. While Nolan is freaking out in the passenger seat

Most people love and respect them. They just didn't like that it destroyed their favorite brands. Dodge didn't sell many 5th gens because it lacked an auto. You'll never sell Vipers to Porsche guys with manual transmissions lol.

@@katekarin3838 Depends on the driver I suppose. We still do not have a legit 5th gen ACR lap time. The lap we got was done by private owners without pro drivers. The fastest lap (sub 7 minutes) was cut short near the end when the diff locked up. Not to mention it was raining both track days. But I'm sure a DCT would make sub 7 minute runs more consistently.

3 of my best friends (all brothers) all bought an SRT-10 Ram at the same time roughly. 1 dual cab and 2 single cabs. The dopest trucks ever made. They used to race EVERYBODY and at the time, rarely lost.

Favorite video so far! I feel like I got to live a little of my dream watching this. Absolutely my dream car, super cool to see how excited these guys got!

The concentration on Jerry’s face during his 4th gen lap was so visible. He was pushing that car as far as he could

In honor of the 4th of July, I watched this in tears knowing how well they put this monster together and now it’s market value will go up. Very rare to see any of these on the streets and it’s a keeper.

I love this style video, I'm sure it's a difficult to put together but I would love to see more of it.

A good friend had (and recently sold) his 96 GTS coupe, 7,000 original miles. These are beast mode cars - but if you know what you are doing...they are truly a blast!! They are solid cars, make some great noises and pull hard. Incredibly analog! Tight fit is racecar like...love it!!

I have a model of a gen 2 viper that has been with me since I was about 6, its my only desk ornament even to this day! love the pure joy the boys have in this episode!

We gonna need a full series of these Mother's commercials.

I have never been more jealous of a video then this one. The Viper has always been my dream car. In my opinion, it's the greatest and most beautiful car on the planet. Never been interested in Vipers but this video changes my mind. Looks stupidly, scarily fun.

That’s my uncle! He brought me along for the ride and it was an amazing experience… I also sat with Nolan and he gave me a ride in the RT/10 which was awesome. My uncle also has a LOTUS EVORA GT signed by Jay Leno because Jay drove 500 miles on it… he also has a 1996 blue with white stripes VIPER GTS! 🏁Talked with the owners including FOUR EYES and it was a blast! 💥

I really enjoy looking at Jerry. He is like a child living the dream. Even tho he is super focused at the moment i can tell he is having the best time of his life.

Without a doubt, the gen 2&5 coupes are the Vipers to have IMO. Such beautiful and timeless lines...

If you want to track the car, don’t get a 2nd gen, unless you’re prepared to spend a lot of money upgrading. They puke coolant after just a few laps, and to describe the brakes as “inadequate” would be an understatement.

The Viper family will always be my favorite car series. I have posters everywhere in my shop. I do not want one to drive. I know I'm not skilled enough to tame the beast. I just love those cars and what they represent. If I could own one, it would be the 1996 GTS Coupe in Blue. I'd never drive it. I'd just put it in a giant glass box and seal it in. I'd petition to have it cast in resin like the Mercedes G-Wagon and set somewhere for the world to admire when I got old. There are far better cars in the world, but the Vipers will always be special and should be appreciated. The Viper is a tragic loss to the U.S. and to car culture around the globe. Rest In Peace Vipers. You were too good and your time was too brief.

Nolan and Jerry's excitement is so genuine it's impossible not to love this. I love Jerry giggling like a little girl because he's so overwhelmed with all the sensations.

You guys are slowly but surly getting up there with OG Top Gear quality videos I love it

As a child I remember going thru RC car catalogues and seeing the Viper and instantly thought “That’s what a sports car is”.

Now THIS is how you do a "list" episode. This was rad... and was cool to see everyone having some real fun

I remember grabbing an auto magazine when I was 10 (2000), and it had the Viper GTS-R concept on the cover. Even to this day I say that concept is my dream car. Interesting to see how much it changed from the concept when they actually started producing it, though I would have loved to see that concept GTS-R turned into reality.

That second viper...so pretty. Nice to see these guys are exactly how I imagine I'd be if given this incredible opportunity.

I live in a small town in the Uk where someone has owned a Viper engined SRT Ram for many years. You didn't see it on the road very often but you could always tell when it has been past because you felt the kitchenware rattling, it was like distant thunder

The driving reactions of Jer vs Nolan is pretty funny. Jer is just straight faced but ripping around with the cars versus Nolan enjoying the drive while pushing just a little bit. And also the comparison of Jer driving vs ending in a huge smile after each vehicle.

I heard that one of the main reasons the Viper was discontinued was that it didn't have side impact air bags. The designers didn't want to accommodate these airbags because they thought it would ruin the lines of the car (the doors would have had to be redesigned to allow for the air bags, and the mechanisms required). Insurance companies didn't want to touch this car with a ten-foot-pool. Fun video, thanks.

This is true. The acr of the final gen actually saw a sales increase from when it originally was rerelease in 2013, but needing a redesign on a car that was only just starting to show promise wasn't worth it to Fiat. But the president of Fiat said he wasn't completely turned off to bringing it back someday. We will see

@@Brandoncwa17 They may have missed their window of opportunity, as it looks like the "muscle car" is becoming extinct. Gas prices are sky high, there's the environmentalist, and the increasing popularity of EV's. Not to mention the Federal, and some state governments pushing really hard to get rid of ICE's. I kinda doubt we will see the 10 cylinder Viper, again???

Gen 2 GTS has always been my favorite, especially the blue with white stripe down the center of the car 😍

the SRT 10 is the only "viper" i've drove. i spun tires all the way thru 3rd gear xD honestly such a fun truck!

This will go down as one of my FAVORITE Donut episodes. Thank you guys for making the Viper the center of attention yet again. ❤ 🐍

Ill say this as a subscriber from the early Science Garage and Up to Speed days - if you did this with every iconic long-running model of car, I would watch it multiple times

Every time Jerry drives he got that “aight…watch this” face. Nefarious and hilarious

I wanted one of these or a 3000GT so bad when I was in high school. They’re so bad ass. We need more sports cars these days.

I like how Jeremiah drove every Viper like it owed him a whole lotta money.

As a huge Viper fan, I love seeing content like this. The Viper is one of the most underrated models out there. For so long, it was overshadowed by the Challenger and Charger.
