He was very shy and signing autographs if any one recognised him as Maggie May had not been out long. His longevity is amazing, his songs are timeless, he never records rubbish and each release is always perfect and unique. May he continue as we still love you, Sir Rod.

I've seen Rod in concert 3 times here in England. I feel so fortunate in thinking that I saw him performing at his very, very best. And then the likes of 'D'ya Think I'm Sexy', 'Baby Jane' and 'Rhythm Of My Heart' to mention just a few songs he recorded which became a 'new trend' for him in trying to re-invent himself. Popular journalism at that time inerviewing him with the programme I remember so well, titled "What Happened To Rod Stewart?" I really do rememer that interview very well. And from then on I couldn't go to any more of his concerts after that because, frankly, they simply were not the same. I loved his early years, his deep rock-and-roll roots but when it later came to his numerous albums of 'sit-down' cover versions it wasn't the 'Rod' that everybody had known and some, like me, moved on. But hey ... that's my personal opinion, but I can listen to his older songs and I still like them just as much.
