今回は1998年にリリースされたアメリカロック・バンドであるエアロスミスの『I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing』をカバーさせていただきました。
この曲は1998年に公開された映画『アルマゲドン』の主題歌で、全米シングルチャートで4週連続1位を記録した大ヒット曲です。作詞作曲は女性ソングライターのダイアン・ウォーレンで、当初はセリーヌ・ディオンに歌ってもらおうと作っていたそうです。確かにセリーヌ・ディオンが歌えばめちゃめちゃ綺麗な楽曲になりそうですが、エアロ・スミスが演奏するこの楽曲は究極のラブソングとして映画にもマッチしているし聴く人の心に響く彼らの代表曲となりました。
日本では2001年に日産エルグランド（E50型）、2018年に日清カップヌードルのCMソングとして起用されたので映画は観たことがなくても曲はご存じの方も多いと思います。
