The "I" in this post is an unmarried woman (or person) without kids who is genuinely happier and/or better off that way. Somewhere out there, there is a woman being pressured by her family to get married and/or have kids ASAP. She is being given a million and one reasons (many of which incredibly flawed and illogical) from every direction. In her heart she knows she doesn't want that. If she were to click on this video,all of a sudden she can feel the most validating thought one can feel in this situation: "I am not alone. My feelings are valid. I'm not crazy." If this is bothersome to you, then nothing I or anyone else can say will change your mind.

It’s okay not to want marriage or kids. Not everyone wants the same thing for whatever reason they have. Having marrriage and/or kids doesn’t make you who you are. But life can still be purposeful and you can still give life a meaning. You can still do your part in “changing the world” and “making it a better place”. They way she said it is condescending…

@@Blessed3569 There is an entire other side to this kind of video. It's the people shaming women like her for not wanting to marry and have children. So women like her, have made videos like this one. This one may be a bad example, but there is a reason behind the making of it.
Thing is mothers work hard at their jobs AND work even harder as mothers. I used to go to work for a break and some time off the harder work of parenting. Why do double work? Job and chores is work enough for anyone without also raising children. Its intense! If someone doesn't want children its really important they don't have children.

My wife sometimes drives me crazy but she does everything that I need from her. My kids drive me crazy for hours sometimes but then when I am about to go crazy I sit down put my hands on my face and I just try to stay sane and my daughter would come to hug me and I'd hug her and it's like I wasn't even angry. It's hard but it's worth it.

I have twins and sometimes they scream no matter what I do. They eat drink I change their diapers I find toys I put on cartoons and I hug them and I baby talk to them but they scream no matter what I do. When 2 babies scream for a very long time no matter what you do you'll see how nerve wrecking it is. Their teeth were coming out that's why they were crying and I had no idea.

Of course people should have the right to choose whether to get married or have kids, and if they don’t wish to it’s their right to choose. But the idea it’s ‘fine’ if more people decide not to have children is not true. Developed countries are suffering because of a lack of young people. Who’s going to support you when you are older? Who will be your doctor or nurse if there are too few young people to fulfill those roles? How will you feel about the issue when you have to work twice as hard for half the money because there aren’t enough workers or money?
You know what, I get it. When people constantly tell you you're missing out and whatnot it gets annoying. It's very aggravating when members of a certain group tell my husband and I we need to go marry women and procreate in order to be happy and have purpose. ....nevermind the fact half these unsolicited opinions come from people dropping supplies off to our cat sanctuary or adopting a cat from it... It's annoying but when you're really happy and confident in your choices you don't post videos about it. The people who insist they're happy single and childfree are just as miserable as the people posting about how happy they are with kids and married. Guilty dogs back the loudest and whatnot.

How do you know how someone else feels? Perhaps her video is in response to all those videos shaming women for not wanting marriage and children. Did you think of that? No. you didn't. Just all the people didn't think before telling you to go get married and have kids.
Nothing wrong with not wanting to start a family if they thinks they're not up for the responsibilities because it's better than being a bad parent. But there are also benefits if they decided to do it. Just make sure they have plan B if things go wrong along the way

Anyone who feels the need to “defend” their feelings against marriage/kids on the INTERNET to total strangers is 100% coping and in denial. I’m a 35 year old man and NEVER once in my life have I ever brought up the topic of having children/settling down to people I actually know first. Of course I have friends/family that might’ve asked if/when in my life and my answer has always been the same “if it happens, it happens”. I don’t live my life in some delusional state where I swear on absolutes ever since any rational adult knows you never truly know what life has in store for you.

We all live a short time, then die. We can spend it how we like. There is no meaning in the end. We will almost all soon be forgotten. Children are for those who wish to project themselves and the species into the future and, to be sure, a fairly widespread natural impulse for millions not explicitly thinking of that end in an intellectual way. As long as enough people are doing it, some need not. The same applies for work- some find their singular purpose in that, and for most that too is vain. There are exceptions. Most of us will not be among them. There is some wisdom in just living for the day, one at a time, as she does. One challenge is that when neither family not work provide that singular purpose, it is hard to do the things that earn money to live comfortably one day at a time, which is why the idle rich have the best chance of that way of life [nor do all actually find it fulfilling, but they can at least try]. But if your job is enough to motivate you, then that's sufficient.
She is just presenting her life as a valid option, not as a superior one. Some people dont even know that life can be lived in different ways. Which is why such videos can be educational so to say.

You are slowly winning my vote for internet president! I am single with no kids and no cares and NGL I like it like that BUT I never push this lifestyle on anyone. I even congratulate people when they get married and have kids. Its nice and the people look fulfilled and that is all that matters.
I see this video where it says you don't want marriage and kids. Now I can understand with marriage it can be expensive. It was free for me only because I'm on government disability income for asd. I am high-functioning though. Also lost half my income when I got married because they connected my income to his which means they would spy on his bank and mine to see if we were getting any extra income to determine whether my money in my bank should go up or down with my Social Security checks. It was awful because I was getting only half my income and that was bad. Before we divorce he worked a minimal amount because he felt bad for me losing my whole income. I needed that to survive. Anyways I don't want to be married ever again because at one time I did lose my whole income and I had to rely on a man to help me pay for the things I wanted and he would question why I would buy those things and like okay I want to buy a lipstick so what why do you have to question me who cares if I want a sixth lipstick because I already have five. I mean makeup expires I can't be putting expired makeup on my Eczema skin and getting the rash because he thinks oh save money use what you already have like okay makeup eventually expires. Also me not wanting kids is because there's a risk of me passing my disability to my kids and my health problems to my kids heck no I don't want to take that risk I mean yeah there are some parents who have kids and then they find out their kids disabled like okay that's for them and yes love your child no matter what disability or not. But for me I as a disabled mother cannot handle having a disabled child as a disabled mother because for me I would be putting my child into poverty and I don't want to do that. I rather just have a small little dog if I ever get a child at all it could be my dog child. That's it. Then again they say marriage and kids is not for everybody but yeah. Though I do want a boyfriend I can live with one day I can cook and clean for and I can still provide for him some money towards the bills I get EBT food stamps I can help with food. I mean I'm not completely useless. I mean something said you can't do marriage and kids but you know what I'm not completely useless just because I was born with a disability it's not my fault I was put into this situation but because I was no I have to make decisions and choices based on how I was put into into this world and now I have to make the choices based on what the circumstances are.

I am not sure about kids, but i would like to marry one day. I am 31 and i accomplished everything already i don't need an other person for. I am content with my life and i bring out the best of me. What i noticed is that married women with kids are jealous of me, not the other way around. It gives me food for thought.

You need to get married to have a partner/companion in your life. Marriage is a man made covenant and unnecessary for happiness.
Children might be exhausting but the benefits they bring outweigh the positives and I'm just a young man who looks after other relatives from time to time. Id love to have children, but none of the relationships ive been in have been wife material women, hopefully I'll find one now im closer to 30 and not 20.

Its true...i have been married for 40 years and believe me though i am happily married but in my next life i would prefer to be single. Marriage is a phase we go through but in the real sense we dont really need it. In my next life i would prefer to be born as a person who is detached from the world and focusses fully on self realization. I do focus on God even now but i want to be a renunciate. As a married woman its not always possible to be a renunciate.

Everyone is good and single when they’re young not so much when they’re old, parents have passed away, family are not close by and they’re celebrating Christmas alone with a sad, tiny tree. I assume you are not a business owner. I imagine it's quite a big difference if you just are employed somewhere or if you own your own business

I don't think most men will ever understand how much flak women get when they say that they don't want to get married or have children. It's like you've kicked a box of puppies and kittens down a flight of stairs. A lot of people act like you are some horrible person, or like your life has no meaning without those things. It is because of two reasons actually. 1) These kinds of women would eventually post a video saying something horrible about the dating sphere is (ironically the pick the worst guys too) and how lonely they are vs. their married friends. 2) Posting online is a double-edged sword and a gamble. As a man who doesn't want kids (neither does my wife), you are absolutely right. I will confirm that women absolutely get the brunt of it. So much so that when I get this crap, I have the privilege to not have to feel as defensive. I only have to say it once, "I don't want kids." The next questions I get are often asking to understand why rather than the accusatory nonsense women get. I'm happy that people view my position as relatively valid once I assert my opinion. At the same time, I wish my wife received the same treatment as I do.

The "I" in this post is an unmarried woman (or person) without kids who is genuinely happier and/or better off that way. Somewhere out there, there is a woman being pressured by her family to get married and/or have kids ASAP. She is being given a million and one reasons (many of which incredibly flawed and illogical) from every direction. In her heart she knows she doesn't want that. If she were to click on this video,all of a sudden she can feel the most validating thought one can feel in this situation: "I am not alone. My feelings are valid. I'm not crazy." If this is bothersome to you, then nothing I or anyone else can say will change your mind.

Good for her. It’s over crowded anyway. And I agree with her. I look at people with kids and dogs walking. And I’m like I understand maybe the kid part but then you add a dog or a pet in there? Like what time do you have to work, shop and cook. Many people have a kids and can’t manage anything at all. I think a lot of people shouldn’t have any kids. If I have to spend most of my time away from my kid because I have to leave them somewhere while I work then what is the point. At least have time to manage spending with your kid and doing other important things. Don’t forget you need to also be able to teach them properly.that is not the schools responsibility at all. Although she honestly shouldn't have let that comment live rent free by making that video, people don't have to pursue marriage or have kids if they don't want the responsibility. I would rather people who are serious about those things go after it than people who do both reluctantly. Kids deserve people who want to take up the challenge of nurturing their growth. I imagine you are a male because you like to talk about women wanting attention. Then it makes sense you may lack the perspective of women, and you may struggle to empathize with their situation.
