Love it or hate it everyone knows what skateboarding is. But there is this small group people who use tiny skateboards with there fingers, they call themselves fingerboards. As a child I had some skills myself but today we are going learn about this niche sport directly from the professionals!

I broke my knee a year and a half ago doing a nollie big on a quarter. Fingerboarding had been a great way for me to keep my passion for skateboarding since.

As a skateboarder that can kickflip nosegrind on a fingerboard... It is a childs game. It is a fun one tho, nothing wrong about it but no need to be in denial about what it actually is.
I’ve been fingerboarding for like a year and I still don’t get why I like it

This comment is amazing. I feel the same, except I started when tech decks first released and the first Tony Hawk's Pro Skater had just hit stores.
That's cool to see finger boarding come from plastic tekdecks to actual pressed mini boards...
After fingerboarding for so long and now just doing it kinda as habit, like just something to fidget with, it's just an extremely satisfying thing. It has that same satisfaction feeling you get when you become really good at a trick on your skateboard and it becomes how good you do the trick rather than "can I land this trick?". That feeling of catching, that perfect rotation on your tre flip, it's all there with fingerboarding albeit obviously at a smaller scale. Coolest part too is everyone has their own style, there's more structured fingerboarders, more loose ones, more technical... it's just really cool that skateboarding has such a similar counterpart that you can do anytime anywhere with your fingers.
This was a great video. I went in almost expecting you to bash on fingerboarding, but you went in with a pretty opened mind and from what it looks like, enjoyed it.
Really appreciate you going through these vids as a skater and learning more about fingerboarding. I love being at this point where fingerboarding is starting to become more accepted by skaters and not thought of as losers who just can’t skate.

Ricky!! Love your attitude and your videos. My friends and I run this fb channel you see right now and its hella fun. If you sit at a desk often it truly does feel like miniature skating if you own a rail or a few obstacles (and a proper fb not tech deck 🤣) . Ive been skateboarding for a decade as well but have only been into fb about 2 years. I love both too much
Awesome Ricky always great to see some fingerboard love especially from a fellow Aussie ❤️🔥

Hope you didn't roll your fingertip when you landed primo. Be Careful bro !!!
mikes the man.. they gave great advice
I’ve always thought skateboard tricks don’t look very cool compared to the high cost of injuries that are bound to happen. Like with skiing those crazy big jumps and spinning around like crazy doing corked 1440s look so much cooler than most skate tricks. But respect for sticking with it and slamming into the concrete on a daily basis lol
Ricky you gotta start fingerboarding. You'll never have to worry about a bum knee!!!
As a fingerboarder… ok Ricky
Great content bro!
I remember making those thick plastic fingerboard decks in wood shop class 😂 It's kool how they got that Tony video game sound effect when they're landing tricks in the second video.
Sick video dude!

I used to finger board but rolled my pointer real bad and haven’t been able to board since
Known Mike since we were kids through the online scene. I’ve been fingerboarding for 20 years now. You should definitely reach out to Mike, Ricky. I’m sure he would be more than happy to host you. EDIT: that impossible around the rail, in fingerboarding at least, it’s called a Torni Slide.

I'm heading towards 50 knees have blown and I was getting down coz I wasn't able to skate as much as I would like dude to work and knees then I picked up a decent fingerboard had to relearn tricks which was fun but most of all I stopped feeling down coz now I just pick my fave fingerboard up and start shredding plus I have loads of fun creating my own skatepatlrkbfellow older skaters thought I was mad but to my surprise they stared buying FBS too!!
I have been fingerboarding for 2 months now, I have just started this Channel a month ago, I want to become a pro fingerboarder so I can’t wait to see where it takes me.
Yo Ricky!! You're a legend!!
you did finger boarding dirty with that first clip hahahahahah oh man I use to love playing around with them at school but I wasn't crazy into them I only learned a few things on it.
Fancinating, it's like a model trains & railways.
back when i had an unreliable vehicle that broke down all the time i would always keep a tech deck with me so i could do tricks on the hood while waiting on the vehicle to cool off
Gonna have to take a trip there. Borm and raised in Massachusetts
1:39 bruhhhhh we used to do the same thing lmaoo i just taught one of my students that tip last school year
I got into fingerboarding back when the world was ending in March of 2020 😂 I’m actually decent at it by now and I have a bunch of obstacles both bought and DIY

Mike is the coolest uncool guy. I am not inclined to think very much about fingerboarding but he makes me respect it. Cool vid Ricky
I’ve been practicing and finger boarding for that last 12 years mastered over 120 tricks you will land it and master the trick just gotta keep practicing and don’t get frustrated and the biggest tip I can give you is be consistent and practice form
Ricky should go to a fingerboard event
Check out this fingerboard edit I made in 2006 on the 2nd channel! kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z6SD1cyDo8-ucag.html
When he said apart from nollie heel I knew he's done his research and knows what he's talking about
Started fingerboard 25 years ago and i still using it every day at the age of 42 and still creating some new tricks.
Their consistency shows it's a skill, not just chucking it
The reason I do fingerboarding is because I live in a place where there in nowhere to do real skateboarding not even flatground so fingerboarding allows me to show my skateboarding interest in a way that I have access to.
I was never good the original way.. but I use my thumb and kickflip into everything or other flip tricks. Been doing it for years. If one is around, I'll mess with it. Still prefer my way because I made it look actually real without my hand being so high lol
I'm interested in doing it when I'm not able to actually skateboard
solid video dude, fingerboarding gives me the same feeling as skatebaoarding, you should hit up an event. It's fun
I’ve been fingerboarding for 10 years now and recently been out for the last month with a broken finger after taking on a gnarly gap I came across at work

I have a Tech Deck on my work desk for decoration. Does it count?
mike is fingerboarding tony hawk
My buddy got a fingerboard sponsor when we went to tampa pro
6:54 slappys on finger boards are very satisfying
I don't get it either but it's dope that people find joy in it.
Funny when people are like “tsk, it’s stuck to your fingers” and then “come on man it’s so easy do real skateboarding” and then watching them not being able to do either
I'm so excited
fun to see what i got bullied for became super cool and now i just shred suuuuper hard and everyone is baffled
2:10 Massachusetts?!! I am going immediately.
great video
"Welcome to your life..." 🤣😂🤣
i found a tech deck for like 3 bucks at target, its fun to just mess on the coffee table with when chillin watchin tv
I really thought you were going to do like maybe one or two kickflips. I didn't know you had skills like that
A lot of Skaters also fingerboard, play true Skate, and Skate 3. It's just fun to imagine doing crazy impossible stuff.
Massachusetts is where I live! I need to find this place haha Im arguably more rubbish at finger boarding than skateboarding but still it would be cool to check out regardless haha.
damn thats crazy! my best is 21 in 30 seconds x_x well done!!!
for that consistency and over all more control (and fun) you sohuld consider to upgrade from a tech dech to a professional setup. Its like comparing a toy skateboard to a pro board.
It just sounds weird… Say it, I’m a finger boarder
I am a proud Skater AND Fingerboarder... I always have a fingerboard in my skate bag with the wax and the T tool, some hacky sacks and POI balls! lol
A game of Sk8. Braille vs Mike Schneider. Make it happen!
@9:15 hahahahaha😂😂😂
I totally don't understand it but people are into all kinds of stuff that I don't understand... I do find it surprising how far some stuff can be taken though.
As someone who cant kickflip and has been doing this for a bit just to see someone grab n do so casuel and DOESNT fingerboard slightly pisses me off ( much love )
I feel like making a video of me doing the worlds longest fingerboard grind on a rail I don't think I'll ever skate.
I love fingerboarding 😎🙌🔥🔥🔥
over 20 years ago we couldn't afford these expensive "finger boards" we used to sit in the back of class and melt our rulers into shape in the bottom of the gas heaters to make boards
He looks like Garland Greene from that movie "Con Air" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You didn't know Anthony Padilla!? Smosh put KZread on the map 🤣
Wears earmuffs while sanding but not goggles or respirator😅
I have been fingerboarding for about 2 years and skating for a year and a half.
Yes!!! On the Texts Books!!! No noise!!!
Fingerboarding was just something we did in school when we couldnt skate. 🤷 Its crazy that its taken on a life of its own.
Ricky you should really get a proper fingerboard. One with a foam grip. You have so much more control. It's actually really impressive how well you did with the kickflip challenge with a standard tech deck.

We used our ID cards in middle school. they would eventually split in half, and it got even better.
