Harrison did half ass it. You just didn’t notice because that’s his style. He constantly complained about dialogue, direction, refused to say certain lines, refused to do more retakes than he felt like doing. In this and the Indiana Jones movies he suggested shortcuts to shorten shooting schedules, often packed it in early. The dude is famously lazy. Mark Hamill even said it. Seriously, if he ever brought or didn’t bring his “A game” would you notice? Have you noticed? You can’t. Every actor lags occasionally unless you’re some insane “deep method” nutjob or leader of a cult like Tom Cruise. But all of Harrison Ford’s performances evince the same amount of energy.

Bear in mind this is an actress whos fairly new to the game, so she keeps the answers close to the chest. Yes, obviously it comes across as disingenuous but I belive most actors are not particularly good at hiding true feelings about a project that theyre on. Cameras everywhere, it can be nerve wrecking. Now Harrison Ford is an old famous rich man. He can afford to say pretty much anything (about the project mind you) without getting backlash. In this case, is just funny. The problem with some actors in anything like star wars is the pretence. Like why not just say "Yeah I never liked this before and now it seems interesting". Or even just "Yeah I'm not a fan of the franchise really, but I do like the story that's being told in this case." Actors don't have to be knowledgeable about the lore as a whole, they just need to know their part in it. They don't need to have been a fan in the past, they just need to have some passion for the story they are trying to tell now. The showrunners, directors and writers are the ones who need to see the big picture, and even then they need people around them who are super knowledgably in more niche/specific areas. However the fact that so many interviews go like this, with so many actors in so many shows. Simply speaks to how they feel a need to put up a front, they feel a need to lie or else be exposed. So exposed for what? Having done no real background or character work for the role they have been given, aka their job? Having no respect for the opportunity to be a part of something so valued by so many? Or are they simply afraid of being exposed as talentless fools who rely on a fake as hell political/social agenda to get work rather than their skill? Seems to me the biggest acting gig they ever got was pretending to be a creative whilst in actuality being a soulless contractor who will be in anything that pays whether they care for it or not. The most acting they do is in public appearances.

Actors in Star Wars have said that in the past. I'd like you to read what was said about them on their private social media pages and why maybe these actors would go through a team of PR specialists trained in deflecting statements to try and avoid that instance. The problem isn't the statements, the problem isn't the actors, the problem for why these actors came across as bland? Is the fans. If you try honesty, you end up with death threats on your private facebook you use to keep in touch with family. If you try talking about how much you love Star Wars, then twitter is a place you should forget about for a while. If you deflect? God save your soul.

She was hired to do a job, she did it, end of. Its not her fault the show is bad, she didnt write it. People taking it out on her are literally just hypocrites

I dont blame anyone for not being into a project they are going to act in. Their job is not to be a fan, but to act. Question their acting not their fandom, because honestly its irrelevant. Perfect example- Not one of the actors in Game of Thrones had ever read the books (except for I believe Harry Lloyd) and they all were outstanding. As a matter of fact the only fans of the books were Dave and Dan (the executive producers), and look how that turned out for seasons 5-8...

So many annoying fans asking specifics of the story when he's the actor, not the writer, producer or director. He's honest amd I appreciate it. Fans don't control you. They consume the art but beyond that, they need to chill and stop thinking they're owed something just because YOU were a fan for a long time. It starts off with a person having a vision and doing what they wanted. Then turned into the fans control what happens, or so they like to think. No. Stop. You are one consumer. That's it. Let it go. It was bought out by Disney years ago. Wtf do you expect at this point?
