Try using a hair dryer to speed things up
great technique! The woods in my region are more rich in Oaks than in pines, but I will try to make an adaptation .

Oaks are beautiful too
Feed two birds with one seed 🐦 is more pleasant, in reference to hit two birds to one stone 😊 I enjoy your channel, new to watercolor. I haven't painted anything yet, just watching tutorials first. Cheers 🎨

Whatever works :)
Love painting on wood slices and would white gesso work for the white?
@JuliaLisArt
10 ай бұрын
Doubt it, the white surface has to be specific to allowing watercolor to bind to it
Yes, it is much quicker (I think , haven't done it yet) but for beauty, i really like the trees as you normally paint them -defined, delicate - they are all great techniques

Thankyou for sharing this video. Can I ask what watercolour medium did you used to cover the wood please 🙏
@JuliaLisArt

Its called watercolor ground :)
Absolutely brilliant technique! I just subscribed. One question-- what do you use to seal the painting (I.e. varnish)???
@JuliaLisArt
11 ай бұрын
I don't use anything to seal
Can you tell me if i am doing this for the first time on a wood palette that measures 29 to 30 inch round how long the dry time will be between colours lightening , I am a beginner and my brother in law gave me 2 slabs . He would love these for his Cottage .

I really don't know, when it feels dry to the touch?
That could work well on sea side cliffs.

Definitely :)
Great video , what is watercolor primer ? Do you seal it ?
@JuliaLisArt
Жыл бұрын
It's watercolor ground :) I don't seal.
Do you sand the wood first before you paint it white
@JuliaLisArt
Жыл бұрын
No, the circular saw does a really fine job of making it smooth
Sorry, I meant to add these...😊😍
What is the actual name of the watercolor medium that you paint on the wood slices first. I didn't see it in the list, but could have missed it. Thank you
