I DISCOVERED A NEBULA
Ғылым және технология
Hello everyone I hope you enjoyed this video about my first nebula discovery. I talk about the discovery process, the inspiration behind undertaking the discovery journey, and how exactly I managed to discover this nebula in particular. This nebula is officially cataloged now as Falls Object 1, taking my last name. You can find its official listing here: planetarynebulae.net/EN/page_...

This is super inspiring, Bray. Being able to discover new things like this is something I want to do someday. Thanks man. Congratulations on the discovery!
Hey Bray, your discovery and others' discoveries is why I got into astrophotography other than the fact that I have a disorder with my optical nerves that could leave me blind one day. So I want to image the unknown and find things that have not been found before with the hopes of leaving my mark on in the world. I think it our natural human desire to discover new things that keeps us going. I actually purchased a very narrow OIII and SII filters just to hunt for objects with my RASA 8 so funny you mentioned that those have almost no catalogs. Keep on hunting and I will too! Clear Skies!
I am truly happy for you! Your name is now part of something that’s gonna transcend time. An inspiration!!! Congratulations :)
you're an inspiration, truly. I look up to you every day (and night!)
Great to hear the story of your discovery. Definitely inspiring.
Congrats! It must feel good to have an undiscovered object in your name. Well done!
Congrats! Would LOVE a vid discussing what, if any, role continuum subtraction played in making this discovery, how it works, and whether we need to employ it when we are searching for new objects.
Wow. Great storytelling. I felt so excited as you went through the process and finally revealed what you discovered. Bravo!
Wow! Congratulations - this is so inspiring. I hope that this will feature in the astronomy magazines in the coming months. Well done - sometimes we have to follow our hunches...
This is so interesting and inspiring!! Many congratulations!
You are relentless in your pursuit. I can dig it. Clear skies.
Sensational. Great work, Bray
Wow. Congratulations. Keep up the great work.
When I first watched that short I was so excited for some reason I love space so much and I even had to google it to check if it was misinformation and your name is there that's literally so cool
It amazes me that the average person (with some dedication and money) can now start discovering their own faint objects. As you have probably heard many times, congratulations on the discovery!
Congratulations! Your achievement is a dream for most of us. You went all in and hit jackpot. Chapeau!
Congrats Bray!!!
Excellent work!!!....Two thumbs up!!!!
Very inspiring!
Just Awesome Bray! Congrats!
Fantastic, and something I would love to be able to do someday! Congrats Bray!
Looks like you are on your way to discovering another one in the Southern Hemisphere. Congrats. And amazing job my man.
As amateur astronomer with 2 small telescopes for visual observing I can only imagine the honor to make a discovery. I feel so happy for you and i wish you good luck bro!
Excellent discovery
For me, I will be happy to get my first set of stacked images. I just tested my mount/ tripod for remote imaging.
Amazing, congratulations! This also kind of made me a bit sad in the sense that you're right, we do all image the same things. Until I get so good that I can't really improve, that's when I think trying to discover objects will be a focal point for me.
I haven’t watched but, A NEEBULA?! WOW CONGRATSS
Dope!
amazing
Hello bray I am going to buy a takahashi fsq 106 . But before buying can you tell my this. Telescope cost too much as compared to other telescope and is it worth the money?
woahhh
i got a cool name for falls object 1 the blue eye nebula
Congrats 🎉
What's the RA and Dec?
Danggg
It’s called the Rossete nebula
Congratulations!! How many hours was the OIII exposure in total?

It was 260 images of 600s in OXY3.
Really imprssive. I'm just a 13 years old Italian boy, with a bad telescope and a very polluted sky. You really motivated me to maybe one day find out something; and for that I want to say thank you. Only thing is that I did not understand in case of a possible discovery who to consult.

The country with some of the greatest astronomers and findings the world has ever known. Get away from the cities to the seas, lakes and mountains and I am sure you will find wonderful things of your own. Wishing you all the very best!

@@zamar2158 Thank you very much
The Falls catalog. 🤔
Pretty dam cool 😎 congrats
But how would they know if its a NEW discovery, did they memorize every nebulae ever discovered??

There are multiple catalogues of objects, all of which (except ones being currently compiled) are available to everybody.
Fuckin’ A, Bray! 💥 👊
What will you name this nebula...?
Não CEI cê e o celular que tá travando ou o vídeo que tá cem som
You are very lucky that you can see beautiful stars every night but where I live I can only see a few like 5 or 6 stars/planets Correct me because I don’t know very much about space
Hi hello from France 🙋🏻♂️🇫🇷 !! Have all a really good day !! 🙂⭐️
