I always wish these things could be fabrics. Would look amazing as a top.

Hi! I actually think there are sites where you can turn artwork into fabric, but I haven’t done that yet. Great idea, though!☺️

There is a shop here that does that. When I create something wonderful, I’ll try it out

Hoping you're able to get your piece into the exhibition. And yes, it'll be interesting to see how your potential exhibit develops as you work on it.

I especially liked the beginning of the work, the colors and the shapes, it remains an art to stop in time, especially when you are busy... greetings

New subscriber…So glad I found your channel. I love your use of color and contrast and Mark making. I typically do all of my mixed media collage in a sketchbook, but I love the idea of working on a wood panel or a canvas. I have never done that. Looking forward to going back and watching your previous videos. I find a lot of inspiration here.

Hi! Thanks for checking out my channel, and thank you for the lovely thoughts! I’ve never been much of a sketchbook person (much to the frustration of my past Art professors, lol), but there certainly can be value in that! It’s always fun to experiment with new things, though! ☺️

Love this piece and watching your creative process. As someone who is just dipping their toes into collage, I truly appreciate your explanations as you work. It’s good to know about the Artist’s Loft paints as I’m currently using the craft paint I have on hand that don’t seem to be working but I don’t want to buy too much “good” paint at this point. I have a tendency to “buy it all”,and I’m trying to break myself of the habit. Please keep sharing your artwork...I would like to see how your large canvass progresses.

I will definitely show more progress pics! I’m actually just taking a break from working on it right now. As far as the paints, go, try and buy what you can on sale. If there is a Michaels near you, they are constantly running sales. I honestly don’t remember the last time I bought an art supply from their full price. 🤣🤣🤣 You can get some pretty good deals on Amazon though. Best of luck on your journey!

You are very talented! And inspiring! How long did that take you? Do you air dry or use a heat tool in between layers?

  • @ArtworkByMelissaReed

Hi! I would say I probably have about 3 to 4 hours total in that piece. Sometimes I let it air dry, but if I’m trying to get it done in a hurry, I definitely use a heat tool, which is actually just an old hairdryer that I keep in my studio.☺️

Hi, again, and thank you so much! So, I like the color shapers, but I definitely need to get more of a feel for them. I kind of felt like I was just floundering through, lol. 🤣🤣🤣
