Thank you for sharing your story. It really hit me, but in a good sense. I was in a similar situation. A few years after I was born, my mom and dad got into debt mediation because of loans my parents couldn't pay off. It was always my dream to have a cool gaming setup, which obviously couldn't be realised. But then my mom got cervical cancer which was a huge blow because we had trouble paying for the treatment my mom was getting. But in the end, we got out of it. But then, tragedy struck...My dad passed away of heart failure when I was 7. My mom was heartbroken and it left a deep trauma in me. But nonetheless, my mom worked her ass off, literally damaging her whole body in the process until we were out of our debt. And a few weeks ago, my dream came true from watching huge inspirations like you. I got my very first Gaming PC. My mom always did everything for me. Edgar, you are a huge inspiration to so many, and as much as we can't compare each others situation because we all have different experiences and ways of processing tragedy and trauma, just know you are not alone! Please keep being the awesome person you are

I've been watching you for 3-4 years now, Ed, and your channel has been an absolute inspiration to me. 4 years ago, I had no idea content like yours existed on KZread and I had no idea you could build your own computer and create a cool gaming space. I have learned so much for you - from building a pc, to keeping a clean setup and all stuff computer/tech related - you taught me so much. Your dry sense of humor and originality as well as your openness about your life in the channel is the reason I keep coming back (maybe also because I envy all the cool tech you get to play with, ha-ha). It's sad to hear your story but it made you the incredible man you are today, reaching millions in the digital space and blessed with a lovely family. In fact, you along with a couple other tech youtubers inspired me to start my channel. I am still learning in the KZread space, and I have just under 1000 subscribers under my name. And a lot of the stuff I do it because of what I learned or saw from you. I do this for fun and hopefully one day I get to reach your level and maybe meet you. But my point here is that you are a great and self-made guy, and you shouldn't be sad about your past. Not all of us had it easy, but the future is always brighter for those who at least try to make it that better. Godspeed.

After hearing about your story Edgar, it touched me. The fact that even someone like you can have a rough past should really tell everyone, never to judge a book by its cover. You’re an inspiration and I’m glad to be a subscriber my friend. Also I think Edgar’s podcast would be a big hit.

Thanks for sharing your story Ed. It's sometimes so easy for us as viewers to look at successful content creators like yourself, living in a lovely home with a lovely family, and forget that it's not always been sunshine and rainbows for you. To have the strength to do what you've done and succeed the way you have, not only speaks volumes about you, but it speaks volumes about your mum as well, and how she raised you. I'm certain she's incredibly proud of you.

Edgar you sharing your story and actually shedding tears only brings us closer together. I only have more respect for you for sharing something so personal for the world to see, I mean this is how u can tell someone is a genuine person. So thank you for sharing, keep pumping out content because u love making it and we love watching it. It's the perfect balance. Yin and yang is at play throughout all of our lives, i mean look how you were able to come from nothing to having such a massive audience that loves your videos and supports you always❤. Your father and my mom's dad both were not present in the lives of their kids and to this day my mom still doesn't even know what her dad looks likes, what kind of person he was or anything. So hearing that golden nugget of you and your dad I can understand how it makes you feel thanks to my mom. Regardless you turned out to be a independent man, a husband and proud father of 2 beautiful daughters Olivia and Shayla are lucky to have you and ofc they gave the whole of the techsource family too. I like to think we are only as strong as how much you suffered and the pain you had to go through in life along with the sacrifices and life lessons you had to learn along the way to get to where you are today.

Love the baby being part of the build. My girls are almost 17 and 19. They grow up way too quick. Love who they are now, but miss the baby days too. Sorry your dad had his issues. I feel sad for him that he missed you all growing up. Your mom sounds like she’s a Saint to keep trying it with him for her children when she knew the likely outcome. But knew every day he was there was a day for the kids to experience and maybe remember. Good intentions. That said, he didn’t deserve you all. I imagine a mom that raised a man like yourself did great with your siblings too. Keep doing what you do, and keep being the amazing dad you are for your girls. We are all fans and proud of you for persevering and wanting to take care of your mom.

I'm just happy to see that despite all the success you have right now, you still manage to keep your feet on the ground and share your blessings with other people and you never waver in doing so. Very touching, thanks for sharing your story, i found your channel 2 years ago and have loved every video too. though my step dad was a bad person, my mother has helped me and my sister get through my life, unfortunatly she died last summer from breast cancer, and your story made me emotional knowing other people could have struggles just like mine. Thank you and much love ❤️ ❤

Very touching story, regarding your childhood. Luckily you’re doing a lot better now and you can support your mother, your wife and your daughters. I’m fairly new here but it’s rare to see someone share memories from their childhood. Keep up the good work 🙌🏽 I didn’t even know, that you had a giveaway going on but I’m not on IG a lot

Thanks Ed for sharing this with us. Been watching for a long time and I appreciate your content and you as a person. You got me into cable management, into organizing my space well and making sick builds. Thanks for the amazing content as always and hope things continue to get better for you and your family, especially your mom too. Much love.

damn .. seeing a jolly and a happy go lucky ed cry like that made me cry as well..its true that when you talk about your moms sacrifices and struggles just to give you food on your table will make you cry no matter how tough you are... i cried because i can relate your story man :( i grew up without a father .. i can say he is a pile of crap as well for cheating on my mother and for abandoning us.. this is the first time seeing you lkke this man and it made me emotional..as a subcriber since 2017 and the person responsible why i built my own PC i think its time that we get to know you more brother.. more videos like this please. happy to see what you have become despite of what you have going through.. youre such an inspriration..

Powerful story mate, and sorry to hear about the struggle for you and the fam in the early years. However, someone like that wouldn't be a good and healhty influence for your fam as well as yourself. You did good, but I do get the questions that it raises on your end. Some people aren't worthy parents. Taking this experience and doing better yourself is (in my opinion) the only good way to go. Kudos! Thanks for sharing!

The video had lovely juxtaposition with you sharing about your dad and your lack of relationship there... but then seeing your daughter come into the room and how you interact with her. Big props on becoming the father that yours should have been ❤

Damn dude. Mad respect to you! They say the best revenge is living well. Also learning to laugh about trauma always helps. In spite of all that, you've managed to provide for your family. Have a beautiful wife and two beautiful children. Congrats to you, and enjoy life without that burden hanging over your head any longer. Cheers!

Loved this video. It is very hard to have the courage to share these things and I’m sure I can stand for many of your supporters saying we are open and wanting to here and are here to help. Maybe not directly but just by having someone to talk to free of judgement. I remember watching your videos as a young kid and it has been amazing to watch you grow and always give such great and heart filled content. Love you bro!!!

Thanks for sharing man. I too was raised by a single mother and had a very absent father. It’s hard for young people to understand the struggles our parents go through, and we can only really appreciate the sacrifices they made much later in life. It’s cool to see we have something in common, and that you’ve have found success despite the struggle from your childhood. Good on ya Ed! Your mom is proud

love your story brother. You are the american dream and I love hearing these things. THank you for sharing personal moments and keep kicking ass! You, your wife and your daughters deserve EVERYTHING that you have coming. Thank you. Sometimes knowing a crappy father is better than not having a father at all and wondering. Also, as you mentioned, makes you a much better father. Thanks for what you do. I still don't have the guts to submit for set up wars, or build my own PC. But your channel is the inspiration for my office and basement/mancae/gaming room. hope it's ok to say all this.

So refreshing to hear what all it takes for a content creator to get where they want to be. We see the end where everything looks perfect from the outside, but we forget what all we must overcome in our lives. Personally I feel that we need this kind of content to remind us to not give up when times are hard, but to focus on where we want to be. Thank you for opening up and giving us a fresh take on content creation.
