@@jackwhitakerr I'm chasing a pilot's license right now - you can do it if you're colorblind - I am - but you can't go commercial is all. You can by all means be a private pilot, which is just fine! There's an alternate color-blind test you can take which makes the FAA happy. www.faa.gov/ame_guide/app_process/exam_tech/item52/amd

Your parents made me cry in that most authentic footage on being an empty nester after arrival in Montana . Totally relate in every way at age 62 with my own kids on their own now. I really enjoy your vids Jack. You've got quite a level head and good instincts. I imagine you feel 'behind' academically after being on the boat all these years but as someone who's employed lots of people of all different qualifications and had a life in academia as well: I think you can do whatever you want in life. You are, at your tender age, all-ready. Keep looking into philosophy. I think it suits you. Interestingly you're not plagued by angst (the typical philosophy nerd), nor are you desperate for any perfect solution to life's questions, but you do have the curiosity to weigh the ideas in philosophy, and the smarts to weigh them wisely. I can see it. Big ups to your dad, and to you.

All you Whitaker children have had the best upbringing any child could ever have, your mom and dad did you the greatest service you could ever imagine, they educated you in the best way anybody could ever get, just think I've only been to Montana once growing up I've never left north america not once and your just beginning your life and have sailed around the world a few times you have international friends who would do anything to give you a leg upe because of the values your wonderful parents have instilled in you. You have a very close knit family! Treasure that! When my brother met his now ex-wife she was truly a piece of work! She told him he had to choose her or his family. Well it was 30 years of no contact and finally he divorced her and I've got my big brother I can talk to again. My mother was able to see all her children together just before cancer took her away and my pops having Alzheimer's and Dementia you just have to hold your family close because tomorrow is never guaranteed.

My famiky also has a ranch we have had for over 25 years noone lives there but we use it for weekend trips but sone years noone goes up there bc we all grew up and my grandprents died who bought the ranch for us to have a speial place.... so enjoy every second of being there together bc now at 37 and havibg cousins in their 50s even when we do go up there on rare occastion its never like it was at your age. If i could travel back in time and relive just one good memory i would go bk to the very thing your experiencing rn...

Oregon is where I live! There are two really nice vans listed in southern Oregon. Both VW and a Toyota 4x4 camper van was listed last night. Prices are a little better than the northern part of the state.

My famiky also has a ranch we have had for over 25 years noone lives there but we use it for weekend trips but sone years noone goes up there bc we all grew up and my grandprents died who bought the ranch for us to have a speial place.... so enjoy every second of being there together bc now at 37 and havibg cousins in their 50s even when we do go up there on rare occastion its never like it was at your age. If i could travel back in time and relive just one good memory i would go bk to the very thing your experiencing rn...

Hey! I’ve been in that snow gear store! Totally forgot about it. Finn sounds like he’s practicing The Rocky Road to Dublin on his mandolin. Looks like you’ve had the kind of snow dump we’ve been getting in the Alberta Rockies just north of you guys (ish). We (and Montana)desperately need the moisture- no complaints. The spring snowstorm has put our Montana break back a couple of weeks- Great video! Look forward to the next one!
