    Hi Tom, I've been following your channel for a while now, can't really put into words what to say to thank you so much. In the past my swing has always been very vertical and I've been very tippy if that makes sense resulting in a lot of shanks. Yesterday I really did play the best golf of my life, outdriving my 3 playing partners and the most crispiest iron shots with the ball exploding off the face, they were all saying what are you doing differently 😂 now the problem is trusting the yardages as over shot the greens a lot but if that's my only complaint I'm taking it all day. Thank you so much brother, it took a while to click but I'm never going back! Phil G, Newcastle England

    Excellent as always. I recall reading in a Nicklaus book to "reach for the sky" in the backswing. That messed me up for a decade.

    I didn’t read Jack’s book, but the pro I worked with also had me extending my arms out as far as possible (maximum arc). It makes sense: bigger arc should equal more clubhead speed. But what the pros miss is the average guy doesn’t have the elite athleticism, or doesn’t practice enough (or both), to get his arms back in the slot and timed with the body turn on the downswing. I mean, the pros need that for the extra yards, but the average guy like me is thrilled with the combination of power and repeatability in this swing. I am still working on the transition from my old swing, but already my “misses” are much, much better and my solid strikes really go. For the first time in years, I know exactly what I am working towards.

    Jack did have one of the more extreme flying right elbows in the backswing. 👍🏼 So many of those magazine lessons back then were BS. Top tour pros would explain how to do something and you’d watch their swings and they’d violate everything they thought they were doing. 2 old pros who didn’t do that and actually did what they preached were Ben Hogan and Lee Trevino. Also Gary Player was quite consistent. Virtually all the other ones would publish a great teaching article followed by complete garbage the next month. The advancement in video and swing analysis the last 15 years has been amazing. It’s almost a science now.

    I'm very glad to know that this lesson resonated with you, and I hope it performs well when you put it into practice! With regard to being on the receiving end of tips from other players - including the great ones - we must always be cognizant of the fact that they are oftentimes conveying their "feels" - which are unique to each of us - and as such what they are "feeling" in order to achieve a particular position or desired action may not necessarily match up with what they are actually doing ("feel" vs. "real"). I teach "long arms" as well, but subject to our maintaining those key connection points that prevent the swing from getting away from us. There is no independent lifting of the club in this system, and as such we fully engage the powerful shoulder muscles, the radius of our swing circle as represented by the lead arm remains intact, the trail arm folds properly without any contrived action, thereby working with the tilted shoulder turn to provide the elevation component, and the arms, club, and body are thus perfectly positioned at the top for a powerful, on-plane move through the ball. As for "high hands" or the notion of creating "maximum width" in the backswing, well - consider the following: 1) We don't hit the ball in the backswing, which is why I much prefer to call it a "backset", 2) Lifting the club independently with the hands/arms invites the possibility of at least partially disengaging the big muscles, 3) Once the hands are up there nice and high, now what? They have to drop and find the ideal "slot" the precise amount each and every time (a variable), and oh by the way, that ideal slot is exactly where we put the club in our simple, connected, body-driven one-plane motion! In other words, there is no additional speed or power to be gained from a disconnected lifting motion, only higher probability of impact inconsistency and wider dispersion. Let's not have another decade of being "messed up"!! 😎 Tom PS: By the way, since my channel's content is connecting well with you, I am confident that you will also benefit from my FREE mini course - “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”.: go.saguto.golf. I watched this video and went to the range and hit 250 balls and not even a hint of soreness in my body. Equally important right away I saw an improvement and towards the end I was striking the ball smoothly and farther than ever before. So nice to hit the ball and even after finishing my swing seeing it still climbing and waiting to see how far it actually goes. I’m a beginner so 150 carry with my 6 iron makes me happy right now. Total yards 170+. Yeah I’m happy. Thanks.

    Well then, Leonard - we best get started! You may be interested to know that a significant percentage of my online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. It all begins with a proper setup which provides for a free-flowing motion. Upon that good foundation a repeatable swing which produces consistently crispy impact can be built. Have you looked into the comprehensive, sequential learning platform of the online school yet? That's where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. At just $14.99/month or $149.99 per year the value in terms of what you get for that price point is beyond comprehension, and based on proven results it represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet. And if you'd like to first "dip a toe in the water" prior to diving into the school, then here is a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ That is where you can learn some key aspects of the swing system I teach in a more structured manner. You don't need the flexibility of a Romanian gymnast - or even of this far less pliable golf instructor - to execute this swing, experience great ball striking, and reclaim - or even exceed - yardages from years past. I hope you'll give the school some thought so we can get you on the fast track towards achieving those goals!! Tom

    This is an awesome lesson. This lesson along with Tom's online training program that I have taken, has totally changed my golf game. I went through the entire program. When I started the program I was ready to quit. I was not having fun, so I thought why am I playing? Things have totally changed. I use to be worried before I went to play because wasn't sure what might happen. I do not worry at all, instead I'm very excited every time I paly. I know what to do on every shot. I now have confidence because I'm hitting the ball so very solid that it feels really good. I'm only a couple of strokes from becoming a scratch golfer. Tom's online course gives you everything you need to be an excellent golfer. It's up to everyone to take the time to study the game and put in the practice. I never tire of your professional validation of the body-friendliness of this swing system!! Aside from the referenced professionals, there are truly countless folks out there in amateur land who sadly have had to either give up this game due to swing-inflicted injury or who have severely limited their motion - and thus their potential for maximum enjoyment of the greatest of games - as a result of the bodily stress it causes them. Given the demographics of this audience, I routinely share that a significant percentage of my students and online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. Having been a CBS radio air personality here, I got to know the Eagles, and performed in front of Eric Clapton sitting in the 2nd row at Orchestra Hall, Mpls. I sincerely appreciate your kind words, and I'm very glad to know that my instruction content for this fantastic Stack and Tilt swing system and my teaching style thereof are resonating with you!! How to initiate the downswing is a loaded question because it is so dependent on individual tendencies that I cannot give a generalized answer. If I tell you that it's a lateral hip slide but your downswing already naturally has sufficient forward force, then you'll hit pushes and/or hooks all day long, and if I tell you to rotate your hips but you are already naturally applying enough outward force, then your destination is pull/slice city. I could also say the shoulders, or dropping the hands, or getting the lead arm off the chest, or rolling your trail foot targetward, or increasing pressure into the lead leg, etc. Whew! You get what I'm saying, right?.... While there is certainly content on my channel that addresses various downswing "feels' and fixes, if you truly wish to get on the fast track towards properly learning this swing system in a comprehensive, sequential platform, please consider my online school. It will make for a far more efficient, superior, and enjoyable learning process rather than haphazardly trying to piece things together through these channel videos that jump around randomly from topic to topic. The school is where you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish, along with diagnostic and corrective tools for resolving common swing, contact, and ball flight issues, and much more. Thanks again for your message and support. Now let's clear this downswing hurdle and get you on the path towards consistently crispy ball striking bliss! Tom

    @SagutoGolf Hi Tom, first of all, I just wanted to say, Thanks for reading my post and taking the time to reply and also for the feedback in relation to the downswing, I understand where you're coming from. I will keep experimenting to see what works for me and hopefully find a solution. Before I switched to Stack and Tilt, I was struggling big time with all of my golf swing. I'm not the most flexible and I used to sway a lot. Then I switched to Stack and tilt and it solved a lot of my issues. Thank God that I found your channel. Keep up the good work.

    John Erickson explains this very well too, but maybe to an extreme not comfortable for most amateurs. But, this is one of your best and most valuable videos and tips. Golf is ROTATIONAL, its not high to high, as way too many coaches are teaching. Its around to around. Just this weekend I was at the range and saw a terrible coach showing a beginner student to lift her hands higher and higher in the backswing. It was so extreme I felt bad for her because she couldn't hit a shot and she never will be able to. She was chopping wood. Anyway, great video.

    I don’t understand why this technique receives so much ridicule. I tried it and have been seeing positive immediate results. There’s been no loss in ball speed, quite the contrary I have seen an increase in ball speed but most importantly I’m striking the ball in the center of the face so much more consistently throughout the entire bag. There is nothing more frustrating being a pretty good recreational golfer than shooting in the high 70s one day and then 95 the next day feeling completely lost. This method has brought me so much more confidence and enjoyment because of how simple it is to repeat before I had so many more variables and timing elements (turn, hinge the wrists, lift the arms when the club is parallel and the clubhead is slightly outside the hands, turn the steering wheel to the right, drop the pelvis, turn the steering wheel back to the left during the downswing, etc just madness, clearly way too much going on) the arms and lower body had to be synced up perfectly for it to work correctly. The stack and tilt technique or single plane rotary swing is a swing that requires very little maintenance, saves your lower back, and makes golf so much easier and so much more enjoyable to play!

    Love it Tom! Key distinction to figuring this game out imo. And didn't know you played a mean guitar too! Talent on loan from God! I played the keys and trumpet in a band, maybe that's why my brain prefers taking the swing vertical idk 🤷‍♂️ And while i completely agree with everything you said and think most would greatly benefit from going that route i think there's one key element that didn't make it to the video. That being the much more upright stance with a proper vertical takeaway. It's really such an effortless/tensionless/stressless reach when in an upright stance. It's just the most natural mindless move. I think you would agree. And then from the top bc you're in a more upright position there is that all-important space to to do your so-called "pyscho drop move" 😂 In all seriousness it is psychotic when attempting in a stack n tilt posture. Oh i find the knees play a major role especially during downswing. Don't think much about them in backswing as they naturally follow the reach. But in downswing the trail knee is a boss thru impact. Anyway love this topic.

    Yes, swing is better than ever. I couldn't agree more about the left shoulder going under the chin. The way you position your head, in the backswing, has to be key to how you work your shouder down and around. If the head moves off to the right it drags the shoulder across the chin. So, the head has to be key to shoulder position. I do think, also, that a downwards rotation of the left hand, in the takeaway, builds a downwards rotation of the left shoulder into the backswing, also. But, it is extensor extension that builds a downwards rotation of the hand into the takeaway. It is easy enough to make a downwards of the left hand in the waggle. This extends the extensors in the hand. And, the great thing about the waggle is that it gives us a feel for extensor extension in the takeaway; and, a feel for pressing the index finger side of the left hand towards the adjacent thumb pad of the right hand, to return the club back to the ball.

  • @SagutoGolf

    @SagutoGolf

    13 күн бұрын

    Thanks! And yes - we need to maintain space for the lead shoulder to work below the chin in unimpeded fashion and without compromising our center. If the shoulder hits the chin, then something is amiss and problems will likely ensue. While I can appreciate what you are saying regarding the rotation of the hand, I know you are also aware that I try to avoid any active manipulations as they necessitate precise compensatory actions in order to square the face prior to impact. Having said that, a proper waggle is certainly common ground, and as Mr. Hogan said it offers a great mini rehearsal of the entire swing motion. Thanks again for the validating remarks and supporting detail! Tom

  • @DASH1ful

    @DASH1ful

    13 күн бұрын

    @@SagutoGolf yes, that's just it. There should be no manipulation of the hands or anything. And, the pre setting swing drill from the 1980s is not a good drill. It is one dimensional. The takeaway is two dimensionsl, with regard to the hands. And, when the the digiti minimi and flexor retinaculum work as antagonistic opposites in the waggle, they build both dimensions into the takeaway. In the actual swing the digiti minimi and the extensors, connected to the first three fingers, are fully extended when the club is max left. But, the flexor retinaculum continues on its merry way; and pushes back all the way to the top of the backswing.

    The advantage of the vertical swing is that it is much more stable. I get the back stress but we can't ignore a very rotational swing is hard for beginner golfers because it destabilizes the stance, the height , it is easy to thin or fat a shot. A vertical swing is more stable exactly because it moves the body less. Just pointing out, not saying which is better overall.

  • @SagutoGolf

    @SagutoGolf

    Actually, if we get the setup correct we will be well-positioned to execute the swing, and beyond that why would we want to expose our body to stress and possible injury. I've taught numerous beginners - for example, here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/lomTscmch6e1gtY.html - and as such I'm rather certain that you have a misunderstand of how this swing works. • @SagutoGolf

    @SagutoGolf

    13 күн бұрын

    There are just too many potential variables and unknowns for me to make an accurate diagnosis regarding your hook tendencies. For example, if your path was previously too steep and you were making compensations to prevent the ball from slicing off the planet - perhaps a very strong grip or setting up with a closed face - then those compensations could certainly result in a hook if you have successfully corrected your path. Other things to consider are your ball position is too far forward, your hands are too far back, your weight is not forward enough at impact, more..... See what I mean? Too many possibilities. While there are certainly videos on my channel that address these various issues, a more appropriate option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this swing system. Beyond that, there are entire sections of my online school dedicated to diagnosing and resolving common swing, contact, and ball flight issues. Have you looked into it? Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. At just $14.99/month or $149.99 per year the value in terms of what you get for that price point is beyond comprehension, and based on proven results it represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet. Improving your contact was the first challenge. Excellent job with that! 💪💪 Now we can work towards getting that ball flight straightened out. Tom

    Hi Zach, Consider the following possibilities: 1) Ball position is too far forward, 2) Hands are too far back at address (they should be in line with the inside of your lead thigh), 3) The swing center and low point are drifting backwards at some point during the motion (face-on video will help you determine this), 4) The downswing is steep and/or the path is out-to-in, 5) Early extension of the trail arm during the downswing (also known as "casting"), 6) Flipping/scooping through the zone, 7) Loss of relationship with the ball (shoulder angle flattening, loss of tilt). Though not an exhaustive list, those are the primary causes of fats, thins, and tops. By the way, always begin with the setup - in this case the first two possibilities - prior to diving into a swing intervention. While there are certainly videos on my channel that address the various causes, I believe a better option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Tom

    Well, it's certainly not about brute strength, Gregg. Instead, we simply allow the natural laws to seemingly effortlessly to do the work for us. In a well-executed swing there are various "power accumulators" that load during the backswing and then fire in the proper sequential order on the way down. And beyond that, by taking it in deep as we do we are able to harness the tremendous force known as "angular momentum", where the aforementioned natural laws of physics and geometry collide! Thousands of men and women from across the globe - spanning all age ranges, shapes, sizes, and experience levels - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives - and their longest distances, too - as a result of my online school, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. I am very glad to learn of your improvement!! It is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. To demonstrate, you'll find towards the end of this episode some practice range footage of me hitting a 7 iron, 3 wood, and driver: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oWSs1cWGqbGZpps.html Beyond that, if you search the word "drive" on this channel you'll see some related content. Oftentimes when golfers are hitting everything well except for the driver it can be attributed to one of the following: 1) Their hips are not continuing their lateral slide through impact. This is common with the driver as the wider stance means that the hips have a greater distance to travel. If the hips stop moving laterally towards the target on the downswing then their rotation takes over, inhibiting any further necessary forward weight loading (we should be 80/20 forward halfway down, 90/10 at impact, and 95/5 in the finish), changing the low point and rerouting the club into a steeper angle of attack (AoA). This can produce a variety of undesirable results including fat and thin contact, topped shots and popups, straight pulls, and “banana” slices. Of great importance is keeping your upper torso/head in place (in other words, not moving towards the target from a face-on view) while the hips execute the lateral slide action. This preserves the swing center and the desired shallow AoA. 2) They are not allowing the length of the club to dictate the backswing path and are getting too steep as a result. The shaft of the driver is considerably longer than the other clubs and thus requires more of an around the body backswing as established by the shaft plane at address. It may "feel" flat as they take it back along the shaft plane for the first few feet, but as long as they maintain the "weight forward, shoulder down, and hands in" components while allowing the club to work around them, it should put them in the proper position at the top so they can attack the ball from the inside. (A good feel for that lead shoulder is "down and in, under the chin".) 3) With regard to the driver, many believe - and some even teach - that we must try to "hit up on the ball" with the driver. However, consider that in our stock setup with the driver the hands are even with the inside of the lead thigh (as they are with all clubs when playing a standard shot) and our ball position is even with the inside of the heel of the lead foot. This presets a very slight degree of forward shaft lean with the driver. Beyond that, the ball is behind the zero-point of the swing (which is even with the lead shoulder), meaning that without any contrived manipulations the club will still be on its descent - albeit very close to flat - at impact. So, perhaps with the exception of folks with slower swing speeds - or those Long Drive participants teeing it extra high and hitting maybe 1-2 balls out of 10 onto a 60-yard wide "fairway" - in general the path is still ever so slightly down. In fact, the PGA Tour average with the driver is actually minus (e.g.: downward) 1.5 degrees - nearly level - and it should feel level - but slightly down nonetheless. (Here is an article on Ping’s website addressing this topic - ping.com/en-us/blogs/proving-grounds/optimal-launch-and-spin#:~:text=According%20to%20Trackman%2C%20PGA%20Tour,85%25%20ball%2Dflight%20laws ) Here is a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker” where you can learn some aspects of the system I teach in a more structured manner: go.saguto.golf/ This will provide a nice foundational understanding of the swing keys that will ultimately get you mashing the ball through your entire bag. • @SagutoGolf

    7 күн бұрын

    Hi Richard, If we pre-establish the connections properly in the setup and have a foundational base that facilitates a full centered turn without restriction, then once we've ingrained the correct actions through sequential drilling and repetition we can entrust the motion to the big muscles and allow the arms, wrists, hands, and club to simply go along for the ride and respond accordingly as if on autopilot. The power accumulators - including the proper arm, wrist, and hand action - will then naturally load and fire with no contrived manipulations or precise timing necessary, thereby returning the face to the position pre-established at address. It's called "giving up control to gain control", and it's the formula for consistently blissful ball striking and seemingly effortless power. While there are certainly videos on my channel that address this topic, a better option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Tom

    The problem is everybody is to obsessed with the mechanics of the body. Have to focus on the club and the feeling in your hands. You simply swing the clubhead back and when it can't go any further it will pull up and over your shoulder, your body will respond and turn naturally as long as you aren't tense. In essence stay relaxed, centered and swung the clubhead around you as if it's a weight on a string

  • @SagutoGolf

    @SagutoGolf

    3 күн бұрын

    Staying centered and devoid of tension are indeed non-negotiables for consistently good ball striking, Stephen. And yes - what you are suggesting is ideally how the club ought to be swung if our bodies and brains can allow it. I call it "giving up control to gain control", and it's the formula for consistently blissful ball striking and seemingly effortless power. However, unfortunately for many the golf swing has been made overly complicated by their brain and all the nonsense and misguided instruction it has been fed. Garbage in, garbage out; and countless golf swings have sadly been trashed as a result. This must then be undone systematically by learning and drilling in the various elements of a proper motion, or - as you say - focusing on "mechanics". That is the "why". 😎 TS

    I am rather certain that I can help you, Walter. My confidence is validated by the fact that a significant percentage of my online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. *_It all begins with a proper setup which provides for a free-flowing motion._* Upon that good foundation a repeatable swing which produces consistently crispy impact can be built. I hope you'll give the school some thought. Thanks! Tom

    It's a very slight drop, Sam, and only because that trail leg is regaining some flex on the way down prior to extending through impact. Consider the following possibilities: 1) Ball position is too far forward, 2) Hands are too far back at address (they should be in line with the inside of your lead thigh), 3) The swing center and low point are drifting backwards at some point during the motion (face-on video will help you determine this), 4) The downswing is steep and/or the path is out-to-in, 5) Early extension of the trail arm during the downswing (also known as "casting"), 6) Flipping/scooping through the zone, 7) Loss of relationship with the ball (shoulder angle flattening, loss of tilt). Though not an exhaustive list, those are the primary causes of fats, thins, and tops. By the way, always begin with the setup - in this case the first two possibilities - prior to diving into a swing intervention. While there are certainly videos on my channel that address these issues, a better option and good starting point would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Let's begin the process of getting you out of that abyss and into the wonderful world of consistently crispy ball striking bliss!! Hi Roy, The swing is a tilted circle (or arc, if we wish to get technical), the circumference of which extends from the ball to above and behind our shoulders. As such, if we are going to remain on that circle/arc it requires the hands and club to take a slightly inward path - not a disconnected handsy snatch or roll to the inside - just a natural tracing of the outer rim or circumference. With reference to your "full turn", the key here is to get to - but not go beyond - our body's natural stopping point in the backswing where the tilting, turning, and extending motions are complete, the lead arm has crossed the chest 45 degrees, and the wrists have properly set without any forced or contrived action. This is the point where if we were to try to go any further any or all of the following will occur: 1) the lead arm will bend and/or lift 2) the wrists will break down 3) the lead knee will kick inward towards the trail side 4) the lead shoulder will level out and lose its orientation towards the ball 5) weight will shift into the trail side and bring the low point back with it, resulting in inconsistent contact and unpredictable ball flight. 6) you'll "chicken wing" and/or flip through impact 7) pain, discomfort, and/or possible injury We don't need to force ourselves to get to "parallel" with this swing, and fighting our body in an attempt to do so will result in some combination of the above issues. If we execute this swing properly we will have created width and plenty of distance for that club to travel by taking it in deep, and that enables us to then harness the tremendous power source known as "angular momentum". If you have not already done so, please work through my free mini course as it will provide a fundamental understanding of the swing elements that will keep your swing plane properly oriented. go.saguto.golf/ Tom

    LOL! Welcome to the wacky world of golf instruction.... 😎 “Truth" is defined as that which conforms to reality, and this swing system conforms to the unchanging realities of Physics, Geometry, and data from the game’s best golf ball strikers. As such I choose to stay in my own lane when it comes to other instruction out there, and the endless stream of testimonials provides constant validation: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews So, with regard to the specifics of your message, every great ball striker gets that tucked trail elbow condition at some point prior to impact; some sooner than others (including many of the Tour players I observed on the practice tee this past weekend at the Myrtle Beach Classic who were actively tucking their trail elbow in at address). "Gluing" it in there is a "feel" that is necessary for most amateurs to achieve this desired action - at least until they have properly ingrained it. In fact, unsolicited feedback confirms that my lesson series on this "trail arm magic" has helped countless golfers across the globe to overcome wide variety of issues and experience crispy ball striking and explosive, effortless power. Thanks, Tom PS: With regard to watching different videos from different sources, please be careful in navigating the muddied, overly-complicated, oft-conflicting realm of golf instruction. That is not a dig against any other teachers out there. • @SagutoGolf

    @SagutoGolf

    13 күн бұрын

    Thanks - I'm glad you enjoyed it! Here are some setup keys: We should feel evenly balanced between heel and toe in both feet. This balance is achieved by first setting our knees over the toes (or at least over the toe end of our shoelaces) to activate the ground connection, and then pushing our butt out to incline the hips and chest so that a relationship with the ball is established. The arms hang down naturally from the shoulders with all clubs except the driver, for which we push them out an inch or so to encourage more of the around-the-body motion needed for that lengthy shaft. This will place the hands approximately under the chin for irons and slightly further out for the driver. We address the ball stacked shoulders over hips over knees with our weight balanced 50/50. We then simply bump our hips one inch towards the target while keeping everything else in place. This presets a little more weight forward while retaining the stacked relationship. Both feet are flared outward approximately 10-20 degrees, with the knees similarly angled outward. This orientation facilitates a stress-free, flowing motion back and through, resulting in a very body-friendly, consistent, powerful swing. By the way, have you worked through my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker" yet? go.saguto.golf/ This is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this swing system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Tom
