Also, even if you cheat and get past the barrier in hotland, you still can't fight so sorry because toby nade a failsafe for that too. If you get to art club on a genocide by cheating then the sign will say "art club is cancelled"

I want to ay that that's a quirk with the Undyne fight.... that attack patterns match with the beat of the music. We know Toby can do that, as was shown with the musical Trio in Deltarune chapter 2... but I think Undyne did it first (with us not noticing because she doesn't really have much of a musical theme to her).

3:32 The first 3 encounters in snowdin are all the same its always snowdrake ice cap then lesser dog and the first 9 encounters in core are scripted so your first "random" encounter in core is always going to be single astigmatism

Great video! A possible modification to the route could involve Napstablook's negative EXP yield, unless there's a reason not to that I didn't consider.

Well it decreases “experience points” which is different from exp (execution points) and doesn’t actually affect your exp

Additionally, it’s okay if you do or don’t use healing items, I won’t be disappointed because we challenge ourselves in different ways. Interesting concept for both of these videos! As others stated, you can trick the game into thinking you've encountered Lesser Dog already by getting the encounter during a room transition, but that's about it. Good job on the Undying fight, too. If you have any other ideas like this, I'll have to stay tuned!

I tried doing this challenge and it was fun! (Besides Jerry) And I beat Undyne the Undying without any heals! Good video, man!

I remember I actually did this years ago on my Switch copy, I enjoy having battles against bosses at the strongest and weakest levels. I've since done the same thing with Undertale Yellow, and am partway through doing this challange with Undertale BNP [Jerry is added as a rare encounter at every area, pain] but stumped by secret boss. And yes, I have done all with the Stick/Bandage and Yellow's Patch/Toy-Gun. Also, by the way, You actually did this challange run slightly wrong, It's possible to skip Lesser Dog by walking between screens and getting an encounter JUST as you do a screen transition. Lesser Dog will no longer appear but will not invalidate "You're Genos". Though no LV difference exists. Also, congrats on the Undyne victory, that's the hardest fight possible in an offical unmodified Toby Fox game. I would know. 😅 Cool to see a challange like this in video form.

Also, If you ever end up doing minimium playthrough of Yellow, I'll give 3 tips, 1: you can Spare a early boss yet still resume the route. 2: monster count is different from encounter count, you can get very low EXP per monster in Snowdin by ACTing. 3: prepare to suffer when you get to a certian midgame boss, unless you use a glitch to tough it out easier.

I want to point out that you can spare muffet to the royal guards before killing 40 monsters in the core, and mettaton neo will set your exp to 19. I only pointed this out because it make LV 19 the highest LV in neutral however it doesn't require the max exp possible as the only requirements is spare a mini boss in hotland but kill 40 monsters in core before neo. LV 17 in highest LV if you have the highest EXP possible.

Did you know that in the Undying fight, when you get to the attack with the 3 spears, there is a soft spot where you don't get hit in between the left and the middle spear? You go in between them and they do not hit you, I found that out when I fought her.

What a coincidence, i once did the same thing, but most exp. And i found 2 things, 1 undyne did 11 damage on love 12 and 2, you can pass the 15 love before "fighting" mettaton neo

That Undyne was clean, and not luck dependent.

His attacks always land no matter what you do. So you gotta keep healing to survive.

THIS IS INACCURATE OMG!!! But really, if you get the Lesser Dog encounter on the same frame as you hit a loading zone (not a cutscene), the game puts in the next room before starting the battle. This allows you to completely skip Lesser Dog WITHOUT aborting geno, shaving off 17 EXP. Got this glitch on complete accident by the way.

I think that if you get the encounter with lesser dog (The excarmation mark) at the same time you go into a different room, the game will register that you already encountered lesser dog and you will be able to grind 15 jerry

undyne does her attacks in a set pattern like sans just remember the pattern and you can easily win the fight

All I can say about that Undyne the Undying fight is: Skill Issue

for the red soul part with the circle of spears you did the (in my opinion) easier attacks terrible, but then did the harder attacks flawlessly, am i just weird?

if you farm glyde, then it locks you out of getting an encounter until you kill lesser dog. source: i decided to try since it only takes me 1-3 minutes of walking to encounter him each time

I remember grinding out geno undyne in high school. Never got it perfect but I could do each individual randomized bit perfect like 9/10 times and knew the deterministic arrows like the back of my hand. Good times. Reply if you decide to come back to it healless/hitless. ;)

i spent 7 MONTHS on undyne in my first geno route and then beat sans after 1 week. just wanted to say your weakest one probably took as long as that my switch profile has 495 hours on undertale just from those two -_-

Dark Ruins: Kill 20 Rorrims(6) (or Sweet Corn(3) & Penilla(3) if it’s your last encounter) but don’t forget to kill Decibat(7) before exhausting the kill count as he doesn’t appear afterwards, Shoot or stomp a Micro Froggit(1). Kill Dalv(120). Snowdin: Kill 19 Trihectas(25) (Do not separate them as it would count as 3 kills and each only gives 9 EXP). Kill Frostermit(20) and Know Cone(24) together on your last encounter. Dunes: Just kill Dunebuds(57)… that’s all… make sure you encounter 2 of these on your last encounter. Be sure to kill El Bailador(80) first before exhausting the kill count as he doesn’t appear if it’s already exhausted. Kill Ceroba(1500) So the max would be 3544 EXP at LV 13. Not gonna count Axis cuz he automatically pisses off Clover to LV 19 anyways. Oh bonus, if you decide to spare Dalv for a chance to get the Silver Scarf from Slurpy, you’ll only be up to LV 12. So it’s up to you if you prefer to have a Sliver Scarf throughout the majorities of the Geno run or if you want an extra defense during your run through Steamworks. I dunno if it’s still possible to get the Silver Scarf in geno if you spare Decibat but kill Dalv, and exhaust the Snowdin kill counter afterwards. But I heard the Dark Ruins have missing check if the bosses were spared there or not.
