Thank you for sharing this story. I have been a fan of you for a long time. I’m a native of Ningbo and now live in Texas. I have a son of the same age as Eva. What you did to cheer her up after the incident (is bully a more appropriate word?) is amazing. What is even better is she has done the same to you. Besides boosting one’s confidence, this is a great way to strengthen the bond among family members and appreciate each other. Hope to see more updates on your channel.

Hi Matt, My son had a simular thing happen in elementry school, fortunately I think most kids grow more accepting as they get to middle school and beyond. In Highschool he had a guy mock him for dying his hair black (he obviously doesn't), he just laughed and replied " Dude I'm Chinese, think about it!" (he's also white, so it isn't always apparent)

On a funnier note, when my son was about 8 years old, in one of his first Cub Scout meetings he had to make a calendar to track healthy eating habits. One of the other kids finished early and asked, "what do I do now?" The Den leader jokingly said now do it in Chinese! I always took him to meetings so I'm sure he had no Idea my son's ethnicity. I was sitting in the back of the room, and about 5 minutes later I hear the Den leader say to my son "What is that?" He said it's my calendar. "yes, but what are the squiggly lines?" My son said "that's Chinese, you said do it in Chinese!" Funny thing is he had just learned days & numbers in Chinese school that week!

Not being funny but the US is what’s causing disunity in the world by demonising such as China. The Chinese people aren’t ignorant and stupid. The demonising doesn’t differentiate between non political Chinese citizens and the CCP., though why the US can’t just accept when it comes to ideologies there’re different strokes for different folks I don’t know. But then US does like creating disunity and conflict. Just in case you think what do I know, my great grandson of 16 months (UK English, of Celt and Viking blood) lives in Beijing, my grandson and granddaughter in-law, say speak the native language and you can conquer most things, and I agree. Cultural understanding is different to interpretation🤔
